About the Business
We were the first creamery in the Twin Cities to serve premium ice cream. We serve your traditional favorites like chocolate or vanilla, but we suggest trying one of our original flavors like "Black Hills Gold" and "Sweet Cream". We are always rotating between our over 300 flavors, so be sure to come back again and again to try them all! We can help with you next birthday, graduation, or office party. We offer multiple catering options and wholesale ices cream options as well.

Grand Ole Creamery
Love my stop in here!
I had the split one scoop (massive portion) and got the Black Hills Gold & Coffee break ice cream.
Both were decent - nothing too special or over the top good. For the quality, I thought the price was quite high ($8 for 1 scoop).
The atmosphere and service were really great though!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 12, 2024
The ice cream was delicious. The staff wasn't very friendly or efficient. They were all over the place taking our order and they didn't seem to care. While I was waiting for my monkey sundae one of the employees was eating just casually. The other started flirting with a guy that walked inside in and stopped making my sundae. My family received their order and I kept waiting for mine. The girl finally told me that they didn't have all the ingredients for the sundae. It would have been nice if she would have told me sooner instead of having me wait for a long time. Like I said the ice cream was good. We all enjoyed it very much. The place is very casual and it's small. You can sit in the restaurant that's attached to it.

The single scoop was huge!!! They have a ton of flavors to choose from, some classic some more unique. I wish they had listed out what was in each flavor as opposed to just the name. Hard to know if there are nuts or even what the actual flavor is on some of them. Not too much seating but it's winter so it was pretty quiet in there.

The service here is always excellent, and have very unique flavors. There is plenty of street parking, so it's easy to get there.
This place has one of my favorite Ice Creams, which is Taro. It's perfect as it feels refreshing, very creamy, and is not too sweet.
I also tried cookie dough and chocolate chips. The cookie dough and chocolate chips felt very similar in flavor, but the chocolate chips were a little bit too hard to enjoy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Akshay R.Eagan, MN65177929Aug 23, 2023
This place was on my list for a long time and I got to visit this finally. Loved the place and how they decorated it. As soon as I enter it smelled like waffle heaven. Love it that they make there waffle on site and fresh.
Coming to the flavors I tried most of the flavors and loved them. We took a 5scoop sampler and that's the best way to have multiple scoops you tried. Strawberry cheese cake was my fav and there are others too. Always recommend this place.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 1872601664Jan 28, 20247 check-ins
Your Saint Paul staple ice cream parlor serving ice cream, shakes, malts, banana splits, and more. Located off the historic Grand Avenue, you will find the line out the door in the summer months (don't let that stop you as it moves quick) and the aroma of waffle cones will keep you coming back for more. The winter of 2024 was a beauty with temps in the 40's and my family enjoyed many more ice cream treats this season. My favorite flavors are the chocolate peanut butter, birthday cake and cookie monster. As of lately, I have enjoyed getting my ice cream blended into a shake. If you have a dog, they have small frosty cups located in the freezer section which is fun because many times you get whip cream only and this one keeps the dogs occupied for a bit. While there are a few small indoor tables, many folks eat outside during the warmer months or grab it to go in the winter. No matter how you choose to dine, you won't be disappointed. Even Barack Obama tried this place when he was in town and you'll find his photo on the wall. Enjoy!

First time trying Grand Ole Creamery in St. Paul. They have two entrances, one for their pizza and the other for their ice cream. They have so many flavors to choose from and my favorite was the waffle bowls that you don't see at a lot of places. Such a fun vibe and can't wait to go back and try their pizza!
What I ordered:
Taro & strawberry ice cream with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles in a waffle coneHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 35717Sep 3, 2023
Walked here on a hot day with my daughter. We had some scoops in a bowl. I had the Cookie Monster and my daughter had chocolate brownie with hot fudge. Generous portions as usual. Friendly staff. I knocked it down 1 star because they got rid of their pizza. RIP. I miss the cheese bread. So sad. Ice cream was still fantastic!

Everyone goes to Grand for the ice cream, but the pizza is amazing and totally overlooked. They have a 2 slice and a drink deal for under $10. The slices are huge and you can choose up to 2 topping on each slice. Pizza is new York style. They use fresh ingredients and have a good selection of toppings. We usually eat one slice there and save the other for later to save room for ice cream. The pizza side is usually much quieter than the ice cream side. They have long tables to accommodate larger groups of people. When the weather is nice we sit outside and people watch. It's a great spot for a date night or a family night.
