GEC has so-so food and reliable set up persons.

Their food is run of the mill, not out of this world as others have said...humm makes one wonder.

All I can say is that for a family owned business it's leaders are beyond frugal in the fact that they cater to and want most of their business to come from large corporations, if your order is not topping their $$$$$ do not bother them.

They want to be seen as a good guy company--very giving, but it is all smoke and mirrors. No little guy nor small business need apply.

We used gourmet express for a lunch and learn today, I was thoroughly impressed. It was nice to give business to a family owned and operated company as compared to a huge corporate chain. Amanda and Jen were awesome in helping me make sure my order was correct. From explaining different food options to making sure we had everything we needed under our budget and delivered on time. I went in with a traditional sandwich platter in mind but Amanda suggested the fajita platter lunch. WOW! I believe the chef's name was Sean? Kudos, lunch was delicious! All my engineers and project managers were thoroughly impressed. They were also stoked it was something different. You know the food is good when the room is quiet. The delivery guy was polite and on time. This was VERY important because we had a very small window to work with.

One of the most impressive things was, Phil emailed me to check-in after to make sure everything went smoothly. In a day where true customer service is a lost art form this was a refreshing experience. Really nice to get the gourmet treatment with more than reasonable price! We will definitely be using your services again, thanks!

I have ordered from Gourmet Express Catering for lunch for my office events. Every time has been AMAZING. The potato salad is fantastic. Everything is set up really nicely. Food is fresh and delicious. We have done the sandwich platter and they adjusted for dietary restrictions. It's been a great experience each time. Highly recommend.

I work at a pediatric office and one of the drug reps provided lunch from Gourmet Express. We had BBQ chicken with potato salad and cole slaw. Everything was delicious, hot, and fresh. The meal arrived on time and service was very friendly. Would highly recommend to try a local business rather than the same old corporate catering.

This company recently catered two business meetings for me at two different locations on the same day. They handled everything efficiently and professionally. The prices, food and service are excellent! Jen, the owner, assisted me with choosing the menu and her recommendations were spot on. Delivery was timely and their set up went smoothly. Re the food, the chef uses high quality, fresh ingredients, and all the dishes were delicious. Those attending the meetings gave great reviews on the catering. I will definitely use Gourmet Express Catering again and highly recommend them!!

This review is for honesty, fairness, consideration, and customer service. I live in CA, but I am planning a VERY small birthday celebration for a family member in MD. I spoke with Phil to request a catering quote, and after understanding my needs and explaining his menu and catering options, he conscientiously recommended that I try a local restaurant instead. He would have been able to book the event, but instead he helped me identify some local restaurants that might better suit our needs. He was very friendly, and he really took the time to help me, even when he knew he wouldn't get a job out of it. The opposite of a pushy salesman. If I ever need to cater a slightly larger affair in the DC-MD-VA area, these guys will be first on my list.

After being asked to provide a meal for a family who had just lost their father, I was worried that being in California and needing good food/service in Virginia would be a challenge. I looked on Yelp for catering in Fairfax, VA and up came Gourmet Express Catering. I called and spoke with Jen who was great. She proposed a specific menu knowing that in situations like this, not everyone would want to eat at the same time, etc...her suggestions were spot on. The family called the next day after the food was delivered and were so grateful! They were just talking about what they were going to do with so many family in the house and what to eat when the door bell rang. To their surprise...GEC was there with two full meals for more than 20 ppl., including utensils, plates, etc...The family has since emailed and called us multiple times to let us know how helpful the meals were/are. Thanks GEC...you made us look like rock stars all the way from CA!
