A cute little cafe with a friendly staff. We arrived for a late lunch and had to wait for a table, so quite a popular choice. They have a full menu as well as a bunch of daily specials. The unsweetened ice tea is great.
The turkey crepe was good. The crepe itself was perfectly made and delicious. Stuffed with chunks of turkey, Brussels sprouts, dried cranberries and brie. The flavors were great, but thought it could have used some more cheese evenly distributed throughout the crepe to add some moisture. The special BBQ quesadilla, wasn't so much a quesadilla since it wasn't cheesy and melty, but the flavors were lovely.
A nice spot for lunch with dishes you probably can't find elsewhere.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 27, 2018
Good Food is a Great Restaurant
In Briarcliff Manor on an errand, my wife, mother in law, and myself came in for a weekday lunch not so long ago. We were blown away by the charm of the owner, the delightful atmosphere, and the quality of the food.
The stars of the car here are the crepes and my wife and m-i-l both ordered them. Their savory buckwheat galettes were filled with olives, basil, capers & goat cheese, and in my wife's crepe caramelized onions as well. Delicious. I ordered the curried chicken salad which was quite tasty as well though I can't really recommend the lemon dressing that came with - not enough lemon for the amount of oil.
We finished off with a dessert crepe - the lemon and sugar. Yummy...but I was a bit put off by their again using the savory buckwheat batter instead of making a proper sweet crepe for dessert. Extra points for a wide variety of teas and serving my wife and m-i-l a teapot of boiling water and two teacups. My iced tea was also quite good.
In short, if you are in Briarcliff Manor - or really anywhere close to nearby - Good Food is worth a visit.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Paul C.Croton-on-Hudson, NY394Jan 12, 2016
I've had the pleasure of eating at Good Food a few times, but my visit today has compelled me to leave a rave review, (as follows below).
I find myself consistently leaving Good Food with a good taste in my mouth (pun intended). The ambiance is charming and rustic, simple in design and decor; the atmosphere and location of this small crêperie reflects in its cuisine, in the most honest and refined way.
They carry an array of daily specials, which are all generally delicious and fresh (a word you'll hear me utter multiple times in this review). They truly cater to a variety of taste buds.
I've tried a fair amount of items on the menu, as well as their specials. I strongly recommend their seafood dishes, specifically any of their salmon plates; (salmon salad and crêpes included).
Honestly, you can't go wrong ordering any of their crêpes, savory or sweet. You can customize them, or order their signature menu ones, (I'm a sucker for their banana & nutella crêpe, since I have an enormous sweet tooth; which Good Food certainly quells). That being said, these are some of the best and freshest I've eaten outside of Manhattan and Québec. AND they're reasonably priced; ESPECIALLY by Briarcliff's typical restaurant standard, since everything here tends to be exorbitantly priced.
Crêpes and other dishes aside, their tea and coffee are freshly brewed and compliment the cuisine nicely, definitely a bonus when you want to fully embrace their cozy brunch environment (much like I do).
Another strong reason why I love eating at Good Food is due to the fact that their kitchen is positioned in a visible format and is adjacent to the dining area, meaning you can see John, (the executive chef) [hastily] preparing all of the food. Which is always a plus, because, like many others, I prefer to have an idea of what I'm eating and how it's prepared within a restaurant kitchen.
On top of that, I really appreciate the genuine concept behind this restaurant. They just cook whatever they feel like making, depending on the day. True whimsicality and liberality, complimented by modern culinary finesse, which in turn translates into exciting, clean, and fresh new eats, each time you visit.
Good Food's rusticity and modern culinary approach gives them a definite leg up over neighboring competitors. I truly believe they have the trappings to survive (and succeed) in a continuously challenging economic climate (for all businesses alike).
I wholeheartedly wish the best for this business! Again, I highly recommend coming in, savoring the food, and chatting with John, who is very friendly and quite visibly takes great pride in the food he creates (and for a very justifiable reason; it's fantastic!).
Happy eating! :-)Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Sarah M.Briarcliff Manor, NY23064Sep 10, 2015
We have lived in the area for two years and never went in. After tonight I am not sure why I never walked in before. We had so much fun here and the food is fantastic. As I was eating my chicken soup with pesto and then a version of a thanksgiving crepe, I kept saying this is so good. And my husband had lemon cod and said it was fantastic. We ordered the works for dessert with added Nutella and it was honestly heavenly. We left our plates empty.
It's actually very cute inside not just on the outside. I felt very comfortable and the place was very clean. Our waitress was so sweet and the owner was so nice too. Both were not overbearing but attentive. Food did not take long at all.
I feel like the owner genuinely loves to cook, it's not just a business for him but it makes him happy. It comes out in the food for sure. Good Food should change its name to delicious food.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 28187127Apr 20, 2015
Nice little spot. Very little to be honest lol. I was the only one here at the time but it echoed a lot so I felt like it sounded busy haha! I loved that when you order coffee they give you a whole pot of French press with a cute setup with the cream and sugar. I ordered the strawberry, banana, Nutella crepe and it took no time at all to come out and was a very good size and good flavor. Nice quick place to stop in.

This was another occasion where Yelp was unreliable...
4.5stars?!?! Do people know what that means??
This was a lovely local place. We were passing our way thru back home from a farm. Wanted a nice simple and homey sandwich lunch. The place is small and cozy. Menu sounds really basic and good!! But...
I had Brie and ham Sammie. Am I too spoiled by the huge portion of NYC deli sammies?? There were ham, a very thin slice of apple, and most disappointing of all, paper thin slice of Brie! When I opened the two pieces of very dry, thin toasted bread, there were about half of the sandwich that would have been without any cheese in it. I asked the waitress if this was an accident or if this is the way it is, and she said it's the way it is...
This also came with some quinoa that was just... boiled quinoa!! No vinaigrette, no flavor what so ever.
My husband had crepe with salmon and greens. It was cold crepe with a salad in it with two very overcooked pieces of salmon. This came with some couscous, also without any flavor.
The gentleman next to us was having their brunch special which was waffles with bacon and THaT, looked delicious:)
Our selections were not so great. I disliked the dry flavorless bread, and the sad portion of filling. For 10dollars, since that's ALL you get, I expected something a little more substantial. (Maybe different if it came with fries or side salad or something)Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nisha L.New York, NY41771Nov 2, 2018
We drive upstate and this place is conveniently located. We have been here twice. The first time the food was nice and the owner is pleasant and friendly. I hadn't checked our bill. This time my ham and Brie sandwich was perfectly nice, just cold. Even though the bread had grill marks. The specials didn't have prices. Seeing a $19 price for the tacos quesadilla and ribs, each, was a little shocking at the end. Definitely not worth it. We won't be returning.

This place is amazing. We came in saying we "weren't that hungry", get tried two crepes - lemon and sugar, and Nutella with bananas - and we each got the chicken soup with fresh dill. SO GOOD! Thank you

It doesn't come any better than this. Food cooked expressly for you. Fresh, flavorful and John makes sure you don't go hungry. An absolute must.

We have been coming to Good Food consistently since we moved to Briarcliff several years ago. When we had our kitchen renovationed we must have went here 10 times in three weeks. The food is consistently excellent. John had a great ability to mix flavors and creates a delicious daily rotating menu. The food always tastes like it was made with fresh ingredients. The crepes are top notch. The chicken is definetly a go-to dish and many a summer evenings we mosey down here for dessert crepes. The ambience is laid back and has a local neighborly vibe. If you are in Briarcliff definetly consider a visit here, you won't be disappointed!
