Glo, glo, glo. No, no, no.
I wouldn't call Glo a lounge- maybe a super-narrow rectangle with weird music, creepy old men, pretentious weirdos, and difficult dance space. Maybe that's just Wednesday nights- which is the only night I've been. Maybe there was a full moon out. All I know is 3 different creepy old men tried to lift up my dress in a 10 minute time period. No thank you. I also got spanked by an ugly 30-something douche with bad acne. "I have to misbehave before you spank me, pizza face! Don't you know the rules?" Sigh.
Anyway, it may be better on the weekends but my Wednesday night experience was so uncomfortable that I probably won't even think about giving Glo a second chance.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - 398759505May 18, 2009
We went to Glo Lounge for the first time this past weekend. We had friends and family in town and wanted to show them Dallas. But...big mistake. We dealt with a big asshole at the front door. You know how that is....when they think they're super-cool because they are in charge of deciding who gets in....and probably their life outside the night scene is meaningless and pathetic. LOSER! He kept saying "overcapacity" but somehow...a little $$ made him forget the rules. Hmmmm... Oh, and even though it was "overcapacity" and he kept us waiting outside for a good 30 minues (no line behind us whatsoever)....he kept letting 3-4 of his friends in every 5 minutes.
Once we got inside, there was no room to move around at all. Everyone got molested that night from drunken people. The DJ was cool enough to play our songs, but I'm never going back again.
Glo Lounge is sure gonna lose $$ ..because our group loves to drink = more$$ at the bar for you....AND word of mouth travels quickly...so boo to the owners for hiring assholes at the door.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Henry L.Plano, TX1097497Feb 25, 2010
Place was pretty Chill, was there for the first time to provide photography services on February 11, the night of record breaking snow! If any of you were there, please visit our website to get the pictures: www.RedCarpetPhotographers.com

The Glo Lounge is a new bar located in the up-and-coming, West Village meets East Dallas area of Henderson/Capitol (should we just call it Heca for short?).
I will say this, the bar/lounge is very clean. Hospital clean almost. So, you germaphobes out there should be happy visiting this place. The layout is your basic long bar on one side, booths on the other and a DJ box at the back end. The bar staff was friendly, I should add.
When I visited (on a Saturday), the DJ was spinning house music, and my friend that follows dance music said he was doing a really good job.
I, and my friends, stayed for about an hour and the place never really picked up in visitors. Though, guys, when we left females outnumbered males 2:1.
Glo Lounge seems like a good place for an after dinner drink or a meet-up before heading to another bar, which is what I did, opting for a place that doesn't charge $6 for well drinks.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Vanna P.Wylie, TX03May 18, 2009
Glo.. do not go!
I was out at Glo this past weekend for a friend's birthday and I don't think I would return back there again. Drinks were expensive but was NOT good! Expensive as in $9 for a small shot!! If I am going to pay that much for a shot , at least let be worth it!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - frank v.Chicago, IL240Apr 24, 2008
The area around Henderson and Capitol is becoming ground zero for East Dallas. New restaurants and bars are sprouting up that offer something different for everyone. Glo is the modern lounge of the group, it offers an interior that is out of a Dwell magazine and has some good House music. It is a place geared for the more trendy people of Dallas. If that's not your scene Capitol pub is right across the street and a new place called Barcadia is 3 blocks east.
