I have been eating Glaze regularly since the Lower Pac Heights location opened in 2013. Seriously, like once a week.
When Glaze opened I noticed they had gluten-free options, and when I was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease I was relieved I wouldn't have to give up one of my favorite restaurants.
Ten days ago I ordered Glaze for delivery via TryCaviar -- two identical orders (teriyaki combos), but one gluten-free for me. When it was delivered the GF order was not marked and there was no way to tell them apart. (Red flags: restaurants should ALWAYS mark GF orders.) Caviar support kindly had a replacement sent, which showed up unmarked again. I figured there was no way they could have messed up *again* and even though the sauce looked thicker than the GF yaki sauce, I ate it... and got ridiculously sick two hours later. Missed work the following day and had lingering symptoms for a week. (I will spare you the details since reading Yelp reviews can make you feel hungry.)
I tweeted about my experience and Vicki reached out to me from Glaze's account, requesting my contact info and some more details about my experience. She told me Glaze's manager from the Fillmore St. location, Jesse, would be reaching out to me "shortly." Ten days later and no word from Jesse, so not sure what the deal is.
Very disappointed in Glaze and not sure if I will return at this point. Horrible (and negligent?) dining experience followed up by poor customer service experience.
Will update if I ever hear from Jesse.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 552270453Dec 19, 2021
This is not your typical teriyaki rice bowl that you'll find at the mall food court.

They have customizable rice bowls or salads to choose from. I decided to go with a teriyaki chicken thigh rice bowl + carrot-ginger dressing for the salad. The chicken was juicy and the teriyaki sauce was soooo good - slightly sweet but not too much.
I recommend asking for the sauce on the side so you can control how much to put on the rice.

Balanced, comforting, and healthy!! A bit pricier than usual teriyaki bowls but worth it considering how fresh the ingredients are.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Dec 7, 2021
OMG! This place is fantastic. This is a great spot to pick up a quick lunch. They allow you to call ahead your order so it will be waiting for you upon arrival. I love that they handle all of my special requests... extra teriyaki sauce, light dressing on the salad, etc.
Also, they have fully GLUTEN FREE options! You can get pretty much anything on the menu gluten free. Even the teriyaki sauce. Somehow they make that taste delicious even though it is gluten free. I'm not sure how they do it given that soy sauce is generally not gluten free.
The price ranges from $12-$18 out-the-door for my orders. I generally add a $3-$5 tip, so it ends up being $15-$20. This is cheap as far as a San Francisco lunch spot goes.
Thanks for having a great product and delivering it well, Glaze!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jul 23, 2022
I am obsessed with Glaze Teriyaki, and wish they had a location closer to me! At least once a week, I order the salmon salad plate with sesame dressing. It's fresh, healthy, and filling. Occasionally, I order the shishito peppers which are also well-made and moderately spicy. Not sure what the status of the Chestnut Street location is, as it's always closed when I've passed by in the evenings.

This is one of my favorite places to grab lunch or dinner on Fillmore! You put together your dish by picking a meat such as chicken breast, salmon, or steak + more. Pick white or brown rice. Finally, select a dressing for your salad. I picked up the chicken breast, with carrot ginger dressing, and white rice.
It's always so flavorful and delicious. I often pick it up on my way back from the gym as it's really healthy too! Who knew eating healthy could taste so good .
Don't forget to grab a cup of Sriracha, it adds the perfect amount of heat.
Just fyi, as of May Glaze is still doing to go orders only.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 12, 2021
I love terriyaki, especially chicken over some hot white rice. But, maybe eating some brown rice makes me feel a little healthier and better about eating it. Glaze is on the pricier side in terms of cost wise. Its not your typical 9.99 terriyaki special at the mall where they give you more sauce than chicken! They make up for it with consistent quality food. The salmon terriyaki is delicious! Nice piece with salad and brown rice. Gyozas are crispy and a must order. Chicken Wings and ribs are great appetizers. Order online and it's ready for pickup. Staff wearing masks and there are hand sanitizers. Parking is on the difficult side.

I came in on a Saturday around 2, there were 3 people in the restaurant. Probably because it was slow it wasn't immediately clear where the register was and if I should sit down or order at the counter (order at the counter). The menu though small has a variety of options, I went with a combo veggie/tofu bowl per the cashier's suggestion. Along with soda they have a few beers on tap. While the inside is spacious there are additional a few tables outside. I was a little surprised when my total was close to $17 including tip and tax. Seemed a bit high to be honest.
It felt like the bowl took a long time to come out given how empty the restaurant was but it did appear fresh and not overly cooked. The rice, veggies (includes an unnecessary salad) and sauce were very good but the tofu was a little bit overly charred, I didn't end up finishing it.
All in all it was an ok experience. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if in the area I'd give it another chance.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 12, 2021
This chicken teriyaki was amazing!! Great combo of brown rice and perfectly cooked chicken thighs. The sauce was not overly sweet or salty. everything was of perfect proportion as well. I highly recommend either the chicken breast combo plate or chicken thigh combo plate. They do have veggie options as well. Teriyaki tofu and combo veggies are available. everything was wonderful and great for a night in to watch movies or a sit down meal at the table.

CLOSED NO LONGER OPEN. Came here Saturday 7/16 and was informed by people doing work inside that Glaze is no longer in business

Now I know why they named themselves teriyaki. Their sauce is good not too sweet. My box was a good potion size and they have several salad dressing options to choose from. I'd go back if I'm in the area.

The chicken teriyaki is amazing. It is fresh. I got chicken teriyaki, brown rice and sesame dressing. I've never had a side salad so tasty with my teriyaki. We got a side of pork gyoza. We called in order and picked up seamlessly.
