The staff were incredibly helpful in this well set up and displayed studio. We wish we were locals so that we could take advantage of the amazing glasswork! We left with a few smaller items that could make it home, but we highly encourage others to shop here for that pop of color most homes need!

Walk to this Seattle treasure. Especially at this time of year as the furnace is roaring and the artist spinning. Awana (please forgive a misspelling) greeted me with warmth; gave me space to saunter about; lavished me with a proper attention when requested and left me longing for her witty repartee.
Here's the treasure I bought for someone else that just looks too good around me. Enjoy!
And, thank you again, Awana.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 5, 2020
I enjoyed my visit to Glasshouse Studio. The studio is located in Pioneer Square and it's fun to walk around here. They have really pretty handblown glass decorations and even jewelry. It was interesting watching them work with the hot glass. I loved seeing this little glass wave. You can see it in my pictures. There was also this fantastic set of glass bottles and dishes with jellyfish. Really beautiful.

Why go to Chihuly if you can walk around this studio? Friends and I stopped by here as a part of our art walk. We don't own yet so we weren't really serious buyers. It's a treat to walk around here. I suggest don't miss it if you are in the neighborhood.

The work is not bad but of course it's not top of the line in terms of blown glass lighting in Seattle and elsewhere. It's certainly not Chihuly, that's for sure. Still, I bought a couple of decent pieces.
But I must say the service was a total turn-off from start to finish. Yes, the salesperson tried to to be helpful, but the problem was that she was pretty pushy and obsessed with making a sale on any given day, instead of giving the customer time to breathe, think and choose slowly. She constantly behaved as if she was doing YOU -- the customer -- a FAVOR by assisting you with your choice of purchases. Apparently, no one has ever explained to this poor neophyte that this is her JOB. At the end of each transaction, she would say "You're welcome!" as if you had taken up her precious time by spending your hard-earned money in her boss' store. Doesn't the man bother to teach his staff to say "THANK YOU FOR YOUR BUSINESS" or is that only in high-end establishments these days?
As for the owner, Chris or whatever his name is, the man is downright rude. Buy something now or the sale is over because he has places to go and other things to do. But what if the customer had been waiting for his assistant to answer her questions all this time, which is why the conversation was taking so long in the first place? Never mind the mediocre art work. It's the execrable manners (and business sense) that are utterly galling. Seriously? Don't bother. There are better places worth your time and money.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 1, 2015
Was walking around Pioneer Square before the Sounders game and stumbled across this awesome studio! Glassblowing/glass art has always fascinated me so it was a perfect little find.
They have the area where the artists are glassblowing completely OPEN so that you can watch - they even have a little tip jar for the employees (I encourage it!) It was really entertaining to see them completely focused and watch them transform every piece of glass they had. It's a little nervewracking to watch though because some of them get SO close to huge waves of fire. There was this one dude who nearly lit his hair on fire and I swear I was going to have a heart attack right there.
Upon entering the owner came right up to us and made conversation - he was just walking around with a cup of coffee talking to visitors. Super chill and very genuine.
There's so many things here that I wanted to buy - some big things, some small things... I want it all.
We don't come to PS often, but whenever we do come back, we'll be sure to stop by Glasshouse!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Brandon C.Central Jersey, NJ3372502057May 13, 2016
Very nice store with a glass studio located within. This place deserves a visit to witness the artisans creating glass art, lamps and artifacts.

This is a beautiful shop they have amazing glassware, mostly lampshades and vases and plates. They blow the glass on site and it makes for a spectacular demonstration to see them heat elements to thousands of degrees and then shape it into some creative artifact. It is a bit overpriced in my view, but if you'd like a keepsake or a gift they have many options.

This is a gorgeous place. I try to visit every time I'm in Seattle. I didn't buy anything but might some day if I can transport it safely to my house
