I didn't notice that Minneapolis lacks independent donut shops compared to other places I've lived probably only because of Glam Doll, which single handedly fills the donut void.
Rare donut shop that does raised and cake donuts well. They have some really interesting/adventurous flavor combinations but tbh I like the ones that taste classic (or at least mostly sweet) the best. I usually try whatever rotating flavors they have since I've gotten most of the classic ones now and know which are my favorites (Pucker Up, Femme Fatale, Night Moves.) Most recently, the raspberry white chocolate one was great.
The space is really cute, lots to look at, plenty of places to sit and chat. Service is always good. Really confused about why the rating is so low. Maybe price? Which is really not that crazy when you think about it as dessert or actual breakfast instead of a snack. But I mean..it's an indulgent thing, you're supporting local business, and the overhead seems worth it?? imho, anyway...it's on my (short) list of Minneapolis faves and places I'd definitely bring visitors.
PS A donut makes a solid dessert choice post- Quang.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 25, 2024
I love Glam Doll Donuts. The pink quirky decor to their delicious donuts, it's hard not love. Their donuts are playful and delicious. Flavors range from traditional to a fun bacon donut.
I ordered a box of custom donuts and they were so cute. Online ordering is a painless process and they turned out great. I will definitely be placing more orders for special occasions.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 23, 2024
Just ok...
I love the vibe of the place, it's super cute and so aesthetically pleasing but the donuts on the other hand are just fine.
The cake donuts are tough... like literally lol. The stuffed donuts & raised donuts are a bit better but the sugar overpowers everything. I can't really pick up any of the flavors/notes because it's just sugar galore. They do offer vegan donuts which is pretty cool tho!
I really wouldn't go out of my way to purchase a pack again but it's a fun spot to hang out if you're near the area. :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 15, 2024
Picked up a dozen donuts for my fave girl that has been in the hospital for nearly two weeks. Got there right when they opened and the smells of deliciousness were amazing! I picked up a few options and every one of them was fresh and still warm. They have many great options for flavors and I will def go back to try more!
Def recommend!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1733081265Aug 13, 2023
Traditional and vegan donuts in a small vintage themed shop.
Location of shop is in a very odd neighborhood. As if it doesn't belong here.
Walking in on a Sunday morning 8am was not busy at all. Parking was easy on street side.
Food:
Donuts were good. We could tell they are homemade. Both traditional and vegan.
Ordered Femme Fatal (vanilla with jelly fill), Kandy Kane (original glaze), and half dozen vegan assortment.
I had the vegan Boston creme filled donut and it was not as sweet as I thought it would be. It was fine.
The vegan vanilla and chocolate iced with sprinkles were very dense for a yeast donut.
The vegan donuts were not as airy as I hoped they would be. They were less sweet as a typical donut but the icing was very sweet.
Chai latte and oat milk vanilla latte.
Total cost $38 with tip included.
Better deals if you buy half or whole dozen.
Shop:
Quaint and well themed. Eclectic collection of things on the wall and in the shop.
Not cozy. Not modern.
Very vintage and extra used worn out furniture.
Customer service was satisfactory.
I might return if in the neighborhood. Sounds like it's the only donut shop in town that offers vegan donuts.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 6, 2023
Love, Love, Love this place! The donuts are delicious and each one is decorated perfectly. The staff & service is great. I highly recommend ordering a few different flavors and sharing with friends so you all can get a taste of each one. The store is super cute inside and has several fun seating options.

10/10 donuts. Many options including vegan donuts. And coffee! There are quite a few tables to sit at inside and they have free wifi and board games. Fun atmosphere. The Frenchie donut with espresso cream cheese was incredible. Melt in your mouth kind of donut. All of them looked so good!! The drip coffee was also very good.
Also a heads up that you can park in the lot that is adjacent to them for free and get off the street!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - 3704681Jul 17, 2023

Glam Doll used to be a frequent stop for us when we lived closer. I was in the area for a MIA exhibit and decided to stop in. The Dark Angel has always been a favorite. This time they had so much coffee in the chocolate coating that I ended up tossing both of them. Not a flavor I like. They used to be so much better. Not sure when they changed this but now I am afraid to try anything with chocolate.
My husband loves bacon donuts and said they were very good.
I also purchased a few others and they were a little dry.
Service was great and fast.Helpful 4Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 5, 2013Previous reviewFor a place that opened recently they are a great success. I was impressed that at 8pm on a Saturday night they had almost every donut they offer available. There were about 20 people ahead of us in line but they have enough patient employees to answer questions and we were at the counter in about 10 minutes. The two owners were working the cash register.
We ordered a dozen donuts $25 (half a dozen is $13.50) and they were put into too large of a box. It easily could have held two dozen. And yes they had paper on the donuts to protect them that we had to peel off.
FEMME FATALE * fresh raspberry curd & vanilla icing (filled) B+
DARK ANGEL * vanilla bean cream & chocolate icing (filled) A
MISFIT * orange, ginger & cinnamon infused glaze (raised) B+
GLAM DOLL * signature donut (raised) B
DARLING * chocolate or vanilla icing & sprinkles (cake) B+
SCREAM QUEEN * chocolate & caramelized bacon (cake) A
PINUP GIRL * apple bourbon (available with or without bacon) (fritter)
B+
My complaint is that they could have more filling in the Dark Angel. That vanilla bean cream is awesome but there was only a small amount. And the fritter needs more apple. In all fairness I say that about all fritters, but it really does.
The staff is helpful and friendly and the owners too. I wish them a prosperous business because we will be back. - Mark M.Minneapolis, MN114164194Dec 6, 2022
I'll keep it short:
1) Minneapolis is a great donut town.
2) By and large I don't love donuts. Will grab one every couple of months.
3) By an order of magnitude, these are the best I've had so far in my N=4 (so far) study.
I'll be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Dec 23, 2022
Good American raised and cake donuts with far above average fillings and toppings. Toppings that they make and most definitely don't come from Sysco
Far above average
Plus espresso and drip coffee in a great building. But you have to be into pink. Lots of pink
And great staff. Even tolerant of visitors from Wisconsin.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1
