Gigi's Cupcakes of Marietta

I am a huge fan of GiGi's but this location was disappointing. I walked in and literally had to say hello several times before someone came from the back to take my order. When the employee appeared she was on the phone taking a cake order. I understand you have to take orders but it would have been nice to be acknowledged at least.The employee appeared that I was bothering her once she got off the phone. She answered all of my questions very dryly. There wasn't a very good selection left and many flavors only had one cupcake so if I wanted two of the same flavor (which I did) that was a no go. I had a few questions about the icing but decided just to get what I could get and leave.

I really expected better from this location. Usually any Gigi's I go to I am welcomed with a smile, stocked cupcakes, and great customer service. Im hoping this one was an outlier.

The cupcakes that i did get where tasty, thats why they arent getting a one star.

Gigi's makes pretty good cupcakes. The cake is moist and fluffy and the frostings are smooth and flavorful. I'm not sure why the cupcakes have to have a huge pile of frosting on them preventing you from being able to take a normal bite, allowing an equal amount of cake and frosting to be consumed at the same time BUT they did. I had to eat it with a fork, which is I me defeats the purpose of ordering a cupcake instead of a slice of cake.

The staff is very friendly and came to the counter almost immediately after the door closed (I assumed they were in the back baking/frosting more cupcakes).

You can take a seat and enjoy your cupcake in the very cozy, whimsical dining area or take them home in a lovely green and brown box. NOTE: the box isn't really conducive to eating the cupcake with a fork unless you eat or scrape off half the frosting first so you can get to the cake neatly in the holder.

Overall I really enjoyed the cupcake, would order another and recommend to friends.

Try the Salted Caramel and the Milk Chocolate!!

Cute shop but the cakes are meh. If this is your idea of a great cupcake, then your cupcake experience is probably limited. They look fantastic but there is WAY too much frosting and it's made with shortening - that's a no-no in my book!

And I have a sweet tooth. I like a little coffee in my sugar sort of sweet tooth. But these are way too sweet even for me and that's a real statement. I couldn't tolerate more than a couple of bites.

Overall, not impressed. Admittedly, I am a home baker and have high standards for this kind of thing but even Publix does cake way better than this.

Very cute store and delicious cupcakes between $3-$4 each. They do have some on specials each day that are $2 which is great if it's a flavor you're into. I've only been here once, but had a great experience. I got 4 cupcakes togo for my family. We got the chocolate salted caramel, strawberry shortcake, chocolate peanut butter Cup, and an Oreo cream cheese all of which I think everyone enjoyed. They have icing stacked pretty high and it's delicious. The cheesecake is super good, but those cost a little more than the regular cupcakes. I will definitely be back to try more flavors here. The girl who assisted me was very informative and super sweet. It was definitely a pleasant experience coming into Gigi's.

Just called the Johnson Ferry location to see if they're still running the buy 3 get one free special. The girl acted as if she never heard of it. I then asked if they honor the coupon on Yelp and she says it has to be in paper format. This Gigi's sucks, I'm going to the one in Buckhead from now on.

And lastly, being rude must be a prerequisite to get hired at this location. I've literally never encountered a pleasant cashier at this location.

I will keep this short and sweet! The new variety of cupcakes is great. I work out near here (yes that is right) but get these a lot for work items and they used to have so few varieties left at the end of the work day. Now they have at least 8 different kinds to choose from even at 6 or 7pm. Employee said this was a new thing and I figured I would share since that is a big deal for me!

If you haven't been in a while head back. And then go work out.

Went there to pick up a last minute gift cupcake. The cashier was friendly and patient while I made up my mind. I got 4 cupcakes for $3.50 each. Price is pretty fair for how large the cupcakes were. I would give the taste a 3 star, especailly if you have a sweet tooth like I do, because they're pretty heavy handed on the sugar. However, like someone else said in a review, I think their cake to frosting ratio is off. It's nearly half and half, and that's WAY too much frosting.

It's not the best overall cupcake I've had, but it's certainly better than the ones you get at the grocery store. I might go back if I'm in that area, but there are better dessert places to check out.

Parking is somewhat tricky because it's beside Chipotle, and most spots can be full. But you do have 15 minute parking spots in front of Gigi's if you just want to grab and go. The inside has a bright and colorful decor, pretty much what you'd expect from a cute cupcake establishment.

Yum! Very impressive cupcakes but not for the faint of heart! Just enjoy them and don't think about how many calories are in them.

Walked in and walked out!! I have learned if the icing is taller than the size of the cupcake then 9 times out of 10 the cupcakes are mediocre. With that said, we didn't try them...

Honestly, I just don't understand the appeal of Gigi's. Yes, the decor is cute and girly and the cupcakes are beautiful; but once you bite into one - well the experience just falls flat.

First off, the frosting is SO overwhelming, they should call the place Gigi's Frosting! It is impossible to eat the cupcake without a fork due to the giant mound of frosting. If the frosting were incredible, well maybe it would be worth it; but the frosting is just not good at all. The flavor profile -flavored Crisco!

So, if the frosting is killing the experience - the cupcake must be good right? Sorry, the cupcakes we tried were all dry and tasteless. Honestly, the cupcakes you can make from a box are so much better - and cheaper!

If you want a fun experience and don't care much about the tast of your cupcake - then Gigi's is for you. If you want t truly yummy cupcake that will keep you coming back for more - then look elsewhere.
