The boyfriend and I came here for a birthday dinner. The food was excellent and the ambiance was very intimate. We were walked through several rooms into a small area in the back and seated at a round corner booth. Our server was nice, albeit a little quirky. But we came across a lot of quirkiness while in Santa Fe so we figured it was the norm.
It looks like they may tweak their menu daily because it had the date at the top of the menu and there were a few items that weren't on their online menu (I like to casually peruse every food option on my own time before visiting a new restaurant). They came around with a couple different bread options, we chose the sourdough slice and green chili roll. We started with the lobster bisque (not listed online). It was thick and creamy, had a strong lobster flavor, and was great sopped up with the sourdough bread.
For entrees, we opted for the elk tenderloin (amazing, especially with the garlic mashed potatoes) and the smoked chicken (also not on the online menu, but tasted like it was prepared in a smoker...or cooked with liquid smoke). They were good sized portions so between that and the bread (ah, the bread), we were too full for dessert.
We were very pleased and would definitely go back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 28, 20241 check-in
Absolutely worth the hype for one of Santa Fe's fine dining establishments. The setting is just idyllic - Cute adobe style building on canyon road with the coziest interiors, dimmed lighting, lit fireplaces, and INCREDiBLE art pieces to marvel at, so good that I had to walk around the restaurant to see the others.
Service exceeded all expectations, beginning with complimentary valet service. Our waiters were very knowledgeable and professional, quick with the service and always checking on us without being bothersome.
Depending on how busy the night gets, they sometimes only have one service earlier in the evening. We came on Monday night at 6pm and by time we left around 730 all the tables were full. Reservations are a MUST.
Food is absolutely outstanding, with a robust menu it will be hard to choose. The special appetizer was a pasta with braised pork that was a perfectly sized portion for one. I wish they offered it as an entree. We also had a Wasabi Cesar Salad with freshly made croutons that are crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the best salad I've ever had - so good that I will go back just for another. For my main, I enjoyed the Elk Tenderloin which was served medium rare on a bed of cheesy, bacon mashed potatoes and some veggies. Amazing! Elk can be quite gamey but the flavor was quite soft.
Overall an excellent, dare I say must-eat experience not to be missed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rebecca D.Moss Landing, CA08824Apr 23, 2024
This is one of those "experiences " restaurants. The staff is very attentive but just enough so you aren't annoyed. Loved, loved, loved the ambiance because we could actually hear each other and the staff. So many restaurants are noisy with loud music and diners. This is quiet elegance where the tables are far enough away from each other that you can have lovely conversation without yelling.
The food is expensive. The portion sizes are not huge, just right. Putting a tiny crab cake on an enormous dish was a bit pretentious but still tasty. We weren't crazy about the menu selections for mains so we ordered salmon and the elk. The salmon was good and the gnocchi was the best we've ever tasted. They melt in your mouth! The elk was a bit dry and too charred on the outside for my taste. The veggies accompanying it were basic, mushrooms, al dente peas, and potato purée drizzled with a brown sauce that was good but not inspired. The lemon crepe was the big hit of the night. Wow! We were full but somehow managed to savor every bit of it.
There were several repeat customers in our area and the servers remembered them and visited graciously with them all during their dinners. It was our first dinner here and we were very impressed.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Patti S.Palos Verdes Peninsula, CA120382Mar 29, 2024

This is worth any drive while in Albuquerque/ Santa Fe area! Make sure to make reservations in advance and if your lucky enough to sit at the bar do it! From the warm welcome, to their in sync performance behind the bar! I wish I could remember their names, just the best guys!
The food...we started with the mushroom bisque which is creamy and sweet with sherry, absolutely devine! My husband had the elk tenderloin, he said the best he's ever had anywhere!! Tender and delicious with the mash and sweet peas. I had the special, halibut with lobster & lump crab in a cream sauce atop risotto!! Cooked to perfection! Some times it can be overcooked but this was light and flaky. We were also sat next to a great couple who I know we'll become good friends to see every time we travel through. It's a beautiful dining area and seating looks great throughout. Chatter heard lightly not too obtrusive so you can hear each other at all times. Just beautiful!! Thank you for an amazing dinner and time!!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 24, 2023
This humble looking circa 1756 adobe restaurant on gallery-strewn Canyon Road is always featured on best of Santa Fe lists and it's easy to see why. Though the whitewashed walls and antler chandeliers signal rustic and hearty, it's the sophisticated and well orchestrated menus that shine through.
We snagged a last-minute reservation and were seated at the bar, but that's probably the best place to be, with excellent service and attentive staff, not to mention being in the thick of things and hearing everything.
There is a vegetarian tasting menu with wine pairing that we did not order but would choose another time.
We ordered wasabi Caesar salad and pan-seared foie gras which was decadent and silky. My companion ordered the grilled Maine lobster tails and I ordered the kurobata pork tenderloin which was tender and in a rich sauce. The restaurant was full and our dishes were timed nicely and with excellent presentation and service.
This is on a nice stretch of Canyon Road among art galleries and shops. It was nice to stroll the area before our reservation as the sun was setting.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Dec 7, 2023
I researched the most romantic restaurant with good food and great service and came across Geronimo! The restaurant is housed in a 250 year old adobe, that has been beautifully restored, simply magical. As you drive up to it you see the porch/outside patio dining area, I wish the weather was warmer, so that we could have sat outside. It was cold and had been raining earlier, so we made reservations to sit inside, the interior is beautiful and cozy. We got lucky enough to be seated near one of their lovely fireplaces, it was very intimate and romantic.
My husband was not drinking that night, so our amazing server brought over a mocktail for us to toast and celebrate the night. We both got the filet mignon and they were served with a variety of sauces, we also had the yummy apple for dessert, this was so unique and I've never had anything like it. The staff were amazing and made me feel so special! Not only is the restaurant beautiful, but the food is also delicious.
I'm in love with this restaurant and can't wait to return!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 29, 2023
We always enjoy our trips to Santa Fe and Geronimo is one of our favorite restaurants. The service is great and the food is amazing. The elk is a must as well as the prawns and sea bass. We also love the beet burrata salad and cesar salads. The crab cakes are also delicious.
The toffee creme brûlée is unusual and delicious.
The drink menu has changed a bit so we will try and work our way down the list.
Can't wait to go back!9Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 16, 2023
This restaurant is located on Canyon Rd in Santa Fe near all the art galleries. Parking is very limited in the area, but they do offer valet. There is a lot of seating and the restaurant is partitioned into rooms. This is a small portion and high price sort of place. The food tasted great and all the flavors were well developed. The only thing I was taken back by was the fact that ramen is worked into a lot of dishes. The service was great and very attentive. Overall, this was a great restaurant and experience.
