Service slightly slow / inattentive (we would have ordered more had the owner (?) been present) but the food is so delicious. Followed other Yelpers' recommendations and ordered a variety of dishes; a little pricey, super spicy (believe it when they say!) but great variety and wonderful quality. We'll be back to try the full Platter for 2.

Great find. Can hardly believe Munich only has one Indonesian Restaurant. Food here is very authentic. The owner sources almost all the spices and many other ingredients from Indonesia. The meals are made mostly from scratch and unlike many restaurants, Garuda doesn't rely on a microwave or frozen, factory made meals-So Yes, meals take awhile from order to table. Best to have a beer and an appetizer while one's waiting.

Amazing flavors. Extensive menu. Wish there had been more vegetarian options.
Service a bit slow but food and ambiance made up.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Luca D.Au, Munich, Germany1135301174Nov 14, 2012
To my knowledge the only Indonesian in town. Not a bad choice if you've never tried dishes from that corner of the world: they offer a range of the most famous and representative dishes. Decor is simple and there's no special atmosphere but all in all it's worth a try.
