A&J GAPA Haul it

I've gone through lots of moves & this was by far the worst moving experience. I was moving from Austin to Houston. Just to name a few things: they showed up 3 hrs late without getting in touch w/ me, their estimate of the amount of time to move me was horribly incorrect, they did not send enough trucks-they had to send another truck the next day, they tried to increase the price of the move-blaming me for the bad quote. The owner showed up to my new home in the middle of the night bc he said that I had under estimated the list of things to move & that he wanted to see what was coming off the trucks. He harassed me & was completely unprofessional. Whatever u do, stay away from this company!!!

Well I called for a month preparing making sure of this companies help with our move,to be not that impressed 1. Was a flat job offer then for the owner to up the charge another 250.00 was not good customer service. A deal is a deal! then at the end if We wanted to offer a tip 2. They wrapped furniture his helpers were polite&worked.
It was hot we funisherd waters,and breakfast tacos 3. Two keep sakes were broken when we went thru the boxes that they unloaded and brought in home were upside down Not all boxes but a few.
My desk was taped when I took off it removed some finish, I think a deal is a deal, one and take a little more care what's taped up . and always tell client what we can bring with us and what your company won't allow, we lost a good half a truck. Load of things cause they didn't have room r they can't move! Tell the customer! a head of time would of been better this company needs to up it! a notch or two.

Amazing, friendly and efficient team of movers!! They took wonderful care of my one bedroom move from Houston to Austin including navigating some very treacherous stairs with a very heavy pull out couch! I couldn't have asked for a better move.

Horrible and unethical company. They have no bond or insurance. They destroyed furniture, and left priceless items behind. The owner charges customers for lunch breaks, and doesn't pay his employees. One month after refusing to reimburse for damage caused by negligent loading, and damage to my walls that I have to pay for, he just shows up and extorts $100 for cash that his employees (tips) didn't give him. I recommend getting yourself a uhaul, and hiring actual bonded and insured movers on both sides. This is not only cheaper, but you won't have someone showing up on your door later demanding payment for something that was never invoiced, receipted, or done. If I were female, and reading this, I would be very scared and take heed at the warning. Pay a little more and get someone that is actually approved, licensed, bonded, insured to do your move.

I scheduled an appointment with this company on Thumbtack for 10:00 am and put down a deposit. I confirmed the time and place with them again night before. The next morning while I was driving in from out of town, I got a call and text from the occupant of my old apartment saying that that movers had shown up at the apartment around 8:30am to get my furniture. The scheduler, J.R., had sent me a Thumbtack message around 7:30am that same morning (not calling me as he had done before) to see if they could come at 8:00am, didn't call me when I didn't respond, and then just sent the movers. The movers were nice and moved everything, but I did not appreciate my appointment being moved up two hours the day of without me saying that it was ok. I won't use this company again.

JR and his crew got some rough reviews on here and I don't know why. We had a tough out-of-town move and they were great! Hustled, wrapped everything well, and I have a LOT of stuff. We encountered a scheduling glitch, but JR worked it out. He also offers yard services and he showed up and got it done in under an hour. Reasonable prices and solid service!

Late, slow, and clumsy. Absolutely will not use again!!

This moving company is a joke! They are so unprofessional and do not take care about their customers. I was scheduled to move and the owner forgot about it. He brought people who he hasn't worked with before and they scratched up our refrigerator and stole our mattress protector and curtains/curtain rods from the old home. We sold the old home and the curtains were part of the signed contract with the new owner and we came back the next day after using their cleaning company and the curtains and shower curtain/rods were gone. After all this happening the owner still wanted my money. Do NOT use this company they are stealers and lairs!

Very happy with A&J. I needed last minute help (called the day before) with moving out of town, and JR was able to accommodate my needs at a very reasonable price. He required a modest deposit to reserve the time, and he promptly sent an electronic receipt for both my deposit payment and final payment after everything was moved. He was very fast with moving but careful with my things. I would definitely use them again for my next move. Feels good to hire a small, family-owned, local business as well. Highly recommended.

They made my move so much easier and took great care with everything. Cedric is great and so friendly. They did a great job. Definitely recommend if you are moving.
