Galvan Dental Care

I had the worst experience today!! I went here for cleaning . Cleaning was excellent btw, a Thai Dental Hygeniest did 5 stars to her, love her!

After that i was hoping for an adjustment for a filling Doctor Galvan did, i told them my concern twice or thrice, i was speaking tagalog to him coz i know hes filipino and so that i can express myself better, i told him my concern once more that theres sensitiveness on certain parts that he did, i cant use it for chewing, he told me to point out the teeth (which i did), then he checked on it, told me that he's gonna write me up on that which i thought he meant by he's gonna schedule me to re-do the left side upper and lower teeth.

We went to the reception and i was suprised that the lady mirachelle told me that nothings wrong with the left side of my teeth, the doctor didn't told him about re-doing the left side, but i told them that its sensitive and i cant use it for chewing. The doctor looked annoyed but trying real hard to hide it we went back to the room again to check then he adjusted it, he saw that i was in pain, i asked him why is it so sensitive then he annoyingly told me "where? is it on the inside or the outside? you were just pointing on the sides" and i told him on the inside as well! he asked me the first time to point out the teeth where it was sensitive so i did just that! didn't know i should point the inside and outside, he should know better, seems like he doesn't wanna re-do his work

I won't bother coming here again, they are plastic nice! or just choosing who they should be nice to and i'm always surprise of how high they charge everytime i visit, that filling was too dang expensive for me to just ignore the sensitivity, i know the doctors tired coz its almost closing time but he should have more patience hearing out his patients concern, he told methe first time "just tell me if anythings uncomfortable" which i did! then i went out feeling like i'm disturbing him

Just had my crown did. Dr. Philip and his staff were very friendly and helpful considering my financial limitations. They worked with my situation and offered convenient payments. I appreciated their hospitality and flexibility.

Oh...and the whole root canal situation was not as scary as it would be. Pain free AF.

Da Scene: About 2 years ago I ran into an issue when my dentist retired and a new replacement took over. On recommendation I was referred to Galvan Dental and brought my family along with me. Personal referrals have always held more weight for me... trust your bubble, right?

Da Work: I have had various work done ranging from cleanings to crown replacement to a root canal and now I'm in the middle of an Invisalign process. Any concerns I had throughout the procedures were addressed quickly; Dr. Galvan has shown care and attention to detail.

Da Service: Consistency is my fuzzy friend. From top to bottom the staff have been great w/ me & my family. Front Office are friendly and through with protocols keeping the office safe. Back Office has been accurate with billing and accommodating when my insurance needed additional documentation/paperwork.

The clinical staff have been very professional and thoughtful, considering I'm a HUGE BABY and need extra/gentle care... I actually used to need "the gas" just for cleanings, but now, NOT! Really dig my hygienist - just the right amount of scolding when I'm not holding up my end while providing caring careful cleanings. Finally my current Invisalign process is going great and I feel well taken care of... will update when I'm through it.

Quality care comes from top down leadership and oversight, Doc is a cool cat and values his staff and they reflect that in their service.

This office is ridiculous.
The staff isn't helpful and the manager is something else! place overcharges as well, make your own research or call your insurance but overall don't waste your time here and go somewhere else.

I came to them seeking to get my wisdom teeth pulled and cleaning. I was recommended to only get my bottom wisdom teeth pulled. After getting them pulled a friend informed that I should've gotten my top and bottom wisdom teeth pulled. At a subsequent follow up appointment Dr. Galvan told me I should've gotten all four pulled. When I asked why he didn't recommend that initially he said that he was focused on the tooth that was in pain. All my teeth were in pain and I expressed that to him initially. Instead now I will have to spend more money and more time off due to Dr. Galvan misdiagnosing my issue and lack of foresight. Or maybe this was on purpose. He could've and should've recommended all four get extracted. When questioned and affirming that I should've gotten all four removed Dr. Galvan then got defensive and loud. Very unprofessional.

Interesting experience that I have never been experienced:
1. Found the bad tooth was still there after I just left dental care;
2. Went back that Doctor spoke French behind my back, huh(saying good or xxxx?)
3. Fixed the bad tooth without cleaning the surface, and refuses to polish it after it, just want to waste my time to come back again for that little filler to get polished??
4. By the way, nurse asked my to rinse my mouth in the bathroom instead of sink, because of some stuff beside of sink.

I've never had issues with my teeth. Upon examination I was told I needed thousands of dollars of work and a crown.

I went for a crown. The temporary fell out twice within 2 days each time. The permanent came in and didn't fit. Another temporary was put in and two days later it fell out.

Each time we come here, the staff are friendly and Dr. Galvan always has a nice bedside manner. They don't try to up charge you or do anything out of your comfort zone which I can really appreciate. They do a great job with our children as well and squash any of my anxieties about coming to the dentist. I highly recommend this place!

I stand by my previous review of this place: Don't go here. These people are thieves.

Besides what I stated in my previous review, I need to point out that they charged me $100 for an x-ray. They only x-rayed the 2 teeth that were bothering me. Literally every other dentist will do a full mouth x-ray for the same price. I've received flyers in the mail and the other dentists I called for a second opinion all quoted $100 for a full mouth x-ray. To add insult to injury, the x-ray I was sent was purposely covered to just show the 2 teeth that were bothering me.

I will repeat: do not go with the GDC plan. It's a scam where they inflate the price and then lower it with the GDC price to think you are getting a good deal. EVERYOTHER dentist quoted me at least several hundred $ less than the GDC price.

I've been going to Dr. Galvan for many years. He and his staff have always been kind, courteous, and professional to me. I've done Invisalign treatment and other procedures here, and I've had a positive experience every time.

I go to school in San Diego, but I still have Dr. Galvan as my primary dentist. He takes really good care of me and I wouldn't replace him with any other dentist!
