I've been coming to this sushi restaurant for over a decade. the food is amazing and is super photogenic for those of us into that. tastes amazing and everyone there is very nice.
when I went thereast time(B4 covid) I'm embarrassed to say that I asked for a small container of their salad dressing. I fully meant to pay for it but the owner gave me some and said to enjoy.
I'm embarrassed because it was a ride question looking back. but anyway they are very very nice, foods amazing and the place is always clean.

This was my favorite sushi spot for the years when they were here. Fresh, delicious fish, quick attentive service and a clean authentic Japanese environment. They even had a cute little outdoor seating area (b.c. - before covid.) I really wish they'd reopen but I think they're gone for good. =(

Saw sign they're going to reopen soon?! I hope it's true this was my favorite sushi spot pre covid, any roll there would satisfy no lie they were so good. Service from the original staff was incomparable but the new workers def had room to improve, and I miss the chill ambiance they had .

This is pretty much our go to place for decent and affordable sushi in the area. It is a small restaurant so sometimes seating can be an issue. We've always gone in large groups and ordered a bunch of different rolls, all of which taste delicious. You can't go wrong ordering anything off the menu out here!
I would also suggest trying the Ramune drink here - it's refreshing and the marble concept is fun!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 12, 2018
Since we were going to Christmas in the Park, we wanted to grab dinner somewhere close by. I chose this place because of such great reviews, however, I was really disappointed. The food was just okay, there was nothing special about it.
The menu had pictures so I was a bit excited, but it was even more confusing. It didn't line up to the wording of the menu. We ordered a curry rice plate, lion king, another roll, and agedashi tofu. Agedashi tofu was alright, the sauce was very bland. Lion king wasn't that great either. The curry rice plate.. my bf said it was eh.
I personally won't recommend this place nor will I try it again.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 18, 2018
We came here after visiting the Christmas at the park. Boy was it crowded over there. So we decided to go some where a bit further away hopefully avoiding the crowds that want to have dinner as well.

I don't know what it is with Japanese style restaurants but they are all so small and cramped. So if you have a group larger than 4 people, it is hard to sit you.
The food...My group and I decided to order a small sashimi boat. The waitress said it is enough to share with 4 people if we all ordered 1 extra dish. That is false. I shared a bento box with one person and it was already too much. So I would suggest if you order a small boat, order appetizer instead of any main dishes including rolls. It is too filling.
Overall the food was ok. I gave them a lower star because the sashimi still had some fish scales and bone in them. Which I felt was not a pleasant thing to chew on...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 11, 2018
This is one of my friends' favorite sushi spots, and I can see why! We got:
Sakura roll: I think that's what it was called? This was the no-rice roll, which had layers of various fish, seaweed, and all wrapped with seaweed and ponzu sauce. It was fresh and tasty.
Omakase platter: Nigiri of all kinds! Everything was delicious, fresh, and cut in fairly thick slices. I think the only fish I didn't like was the halibut, which was a slightly chewy, but maybe that's how halibut is? Everything else was done very well and the fish was definitely fresh and of good quality.
I'm glad I got to try this location--waitress was also very friendly. I'll definitely recommend this place to other buddies in this area!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Aug 20, 2017
In downtown SJ so you probably will have to pay for parking. Fuji Sushi was a pleasant surprise. Their sushi was fresh, bento boxes were more than generous, and even had a discount from a yelp check in. Being a yelper has its benefits!
The yelp reviews I read said the sushi rolls were the best. Indeed their fish was fresh and rolls very flavorful. I ordered their 3 item bento box as well and it came with chicken teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, and 6 pieces of California rolls. I was stuffed!!!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - 171115682124Jul 7, 2017
I've been here for dinner on several occasions.
On my first visit, our group of 3 sat at the sushi bar. I found my cuts of nigiri & sashimi fresh, BUT, I did order off the board of fresh fish. I thought I had found my goto sushi joint in SJ.
On subsequent visits, our groups were seated at tables and we ordered a variety of dishes and that's when I learned to stick with the board. I'd pass on any of the entrees that aren't sushi. The katsu was bland. Korean BBQ & bulgogi cuts of meat were very fatty. And we had some rolls that didn't taste fresh. On our last visit, we didn't eat most of our food.
Place has a cozy & casual ambiance and servers have been attentive. They also offer your standard Japanese beers & sake.
I would recommend to sticking with what's fresh for the day.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0
