A nice place in Castro street to break away and grab sun dimsum....the only thing is this place around is ordered plates instead of carts walking around. Price is reasonable and taste is good
This place fills up fast so get there earlyHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sarah L.Washington, DC16863111Feb 18, 2024
Fast, cart service dim sum. Go here if you want to sit down and eat fast.
Dim sum is just OK. It was just below the bar for me in terms of flavor and quality for what you're paying for. Not a ton of variety either. But the speed of service really made up for it.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - 32510552Dec 14, 2023
This is my go to place for dim sum in the South Bay. I usually go earlier in the morning on the weekends and there's no wait but plenty of carts ready; you could get least 5 plates on your table the moment you sit down.
The best things here are the noodles (I've liked the fried ones and steamed/rolled ones), the shrimp hargow, shrimp ball with crispy fried strands (I don't know the actual name), and fried sticky rice ball with meat filling.
The taro ball is pretty good too (I love how crispy it is and it's very filling).
I'm not so crazy about the egg tarts, beef cheung fun (it was like gelatinous meatloaf), and xiao long bao.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 8, 20241 check-in
I was dissapointed. Service was slow. Menu is confusing and so long - you have to scan the QR code still and scroll through hundreds of items. They kept pushing the dessert dim sum before we even ordered. No water was offered to us, but it was offered to all the other tables. They only brought one lunch special 15 minutes after ordering. The fish was way overcooked and greasy. The rice was a little crunchy. The carpet under our table was dirty with food. At the high price point you would expect table cloth and nice napkins, but it's paper napkins. The lunch special did not come with soup or egg rolls. It's incredibly loud. Had to flag someone down to pay the bill. They need more servers.

I used to go here ALL the time as a kid, and finally came back (it's been probably around 10 years?!) to have lunch! We were there a little around opening time on a weekend, and before doors opened we put our names down on the paper waiting list. About 10 minutes later, that piece of paper was filleddd with names and there was a huge crowd waiting outside! Talk about good timing lol
Fu Lam Mum brings the traditional cart experience for dim sum which is awesome. They're quick and efficient, and you can see right in front of you what you want to eat.
We ordered a few things this time around:
+ Shrimp Rice Noodle Rolls (3/5): The taste was there but the rice rolls were a little overcooked and dry!
+ Siu Mai (3/5): It was heavier on the ground pork than I would've liked, but the siu mai was moist and tasty.
+ Chicken Feet (4/5): Can never go wrong with this for dim sum! I liked the sauce and how they don't add jalapenos to this since I usually find it a little overwhelming for the taste.
3.5 stars overall on the food but rounding up :)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Nov 7, 2023
Really solid spot for dim sum! You wouldn't expect to find a good dim sum cart experience in downtown Mountain View but I was pleasantly surprised by the food here. I came with a friend who comes here as her go-to spot for dim sum on a Sunday morning. There were still a good amount of tables when we arrived but by noon, there was already a line forming outside so definitely come early!
There are dim cart carts that circle around as well as a QR code based menu that you can order items directly from. Service is quick and efficient and overall everything we got was really good. I'd say the shrimp based dim sum items are really the high here. Loved the crispy shrimp balls, shrimp chive dumplings, and shrimp stuffed peppers. The cha sui rice rolls were also really nice. I have heard that if you come after 1pm, they run out of the popular items.
There is outdoor dining as well which is dog friendly and it's always a treat to sit outside on Castro street on a nice day.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 6, 2023
Fu Lam Mum is one of my go-to dim sum places, mostly because I'm a huge fan of the dim sum carts which seem to be a dying species. Quality-wise and service-wise, it can be a hit or miss.
One of my favorite dishes is the fried donut rice roll, which I unfortunately do not have a picture of. It sounds strange but it's just a Chinese fried donut (you tiao) wrapped in rice paper and it's delicious.
I wish I could do half stars because then I would probably give Fu Lam Mum a 3.5, but I'll round up for the carts.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 108623762602Aug 5, 2023
Huge of this place! My family came for dinner last Wednesday evening to also celebrate my nephews birthday. We ordered a huge amount of food from dim sum to core dishes like chow mein, fried rice, sweet & sour pork, chow fun, Chinese broccoli, won ton soup, and more! Everything came out on time and also made fresh. The food is flavorful and will definitely stuff you. I'm a huge fan of their duck! The meat and skin is so tender and crisp. I also love their chili oil which paired with basically everything.
Their service is nice and full of energy. They're quick on their feet and will make their frequent rounds for orders and refills. My family loves this restaurant and we'll be coming back again!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 9145257Jan 7, 2024
Seems like a popular, busy spot for dumplings in Mountain View downtown. Service is very fast and they had both cart and menu orders on a Sunday afternoon. Really liked the shrimp paste baked in pepper skin ( try if you like spice/ heat). The chicken bun was dry and chewy, so wouldn't recommend that. The filling lacked flavor as well. The chives and shrimp dumpling were piping hot and tasty but they could use fresh chives to make it taste better. Really enjoyed the hot, tasty dumplings on a cold afternoon. Would love to revisit!

I'd probably give this place 3.5 stars -- not a bad spot for dim sum in downtown Mountain View but there are other places in south bay that I would prefer over Fu Lam Mum.
I came here with a friend this past Sunday and put our names down on the waitlist at the front of the restaurant. It might seem like there's a lot of people waiting but the line moves quickly and we were in after ~15 minutes.
I do really enjoy that this place does the dim sum carts as opposed to just ordering directly from a menu, but the items we ended up getting were just alright in my opinion.
We got a total of 6 things -- siu mai, bean curd rolls, steamed BBQ pork buns, egg tarts, tofu stuffed with shrimp, and baked BBQ pork pastries. The siu mais, BBQ pork buns, and egg tarts were pretty solid but the bean curd rolls fell flat for me and both the stuffed tofu and BBQ pork pastries lacked in flavor...Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0
