Fred Astaire Dance Studio

I have danced with the Princeton StuDino for almost 5 years and recommend the teaching staff as some of the most experienced, committed, friendly, and effective teachers of dance that I have ever met. Tara, Dana and Sasha, the owners, have consistently recruited teachers that love working with beginner, intermediate and experienced student dancers to help them achieve their goals in dance.
Whether it be to prepare for a couples first wedding dance, a mother/father - son/daughter dance, to provide date night experiences, to help amateur dancers who want to continue their journey in learning social or competitive dance, to introduce beginners to a range of dance styles or give experience amateur dancers a reason to take their open routines to the next level the staff will create a unique study plan for the student to help them reach their potential. Just as importantly, the teachers have worked hard to create a dance family at the studio with daily group lessons and social dances to help students know one another.
Dance is a great way to bond with a partner, to provide a release from work stress and to encourage flexibility and strength. The team at Princeton helped me find the passion for what I hope will be a lifelong hobby/workout/social connection.

Don't use them for wedding packages. Our instructors deliberately went at a snails pace so they can add to the number of classes needed.
Also, they practice false advertising. They'll tell you can participate in all the other classes
on the schedule, as an added benefit but when you actually try to come to a class the manager hassles you. Suddenly, there are all kinds of stipulations to use the benefit like you must be in class once a week and you can't take certain classes that require an additional cost etc...It's a whole different story once you sign on the dotted line. And when the manager hassles you, it's done in front of anybody who happens to be standing around. It was quite humiliating! The manager is unapologetically, arrogant. I had no choice but to ask for a refund because who could go back to business after receiving that kind of treatment. Unfortunately, there's no rating lower than one which I would choose if I had the option.

My primary instructors are Will and Alex. They are so patient, encouraging, and supportive. And, we have a lot of fun--Something I look forward to every week. At the evening classes, I have worked with all of the other instructors and they are equally as supportive. They are always willing to encourage and find the fun in our classes. Honestly, you could not find a more professional company of instructors.

I have had an exceptional experience at Fred Astaire. ALL of the instructors are passionate, patient and dedicated to their students. The studio offers wonderful dance parties, special events, and guest instructors. I highly recommend Fred Astaire to prospective students of any level!

If you love music and fun then FADS is the place for you. Dance is so important for your body, your mind, and your soul. Dance allows you connect with the rhythm of life and the heartbeat of music. Fred Astaire Princeton has wonderful dance professionals who are the best in the industry - every teacher has placed in top honors locally and nationally. The teachers are kind and understanding with new and experienced dancers. I've been at this studio for almost 1 1/2 years after not dancing for 30 years. I look forward to learning and laughing with my instructors. It doesn't matter if you walk in solo or as a couple, this studio will meet your needs. The parties are fun too. It is a hidden gem in Princeton.

People there are the nicest. Most talented group of dance instructors in NJ, especially they can make you more confident .Highly recommend them!

The experience of learning to dance for the first time was made so much fun by the incredible instructors at Fred Astaire Princeton. After just a few weeks I felt like part of a wonderful, supportive family. On my worst day I can walk into the studio and immediately feel uplifted. The best part is that I have learned to dance with confidence after procrastinating for 30 years. It doesn't matter if you are 7 or 70...it can happen for you. Thank you Sasha, Tara, Samantha, Juan and Ilya. Millie and Ilya you have a wonderful group of professional teachers. If you want to learn to dance for fun, for your wedding or be a competitive dancer...Fred Astaire Princeton is your place! There aren't enough stars on the planet...they are all at the studio!

My son took private lessons at the studio (he's now doing classical ballet but plans to come back, and my daughter is doing classes there now). Both love it - the teachers are wonderful - great dancers, but also really wonderful at teaching (which often is harder) and caring and sensitive with the kids. They are also very serious about teaching adults - I've enjoyed watching several adult lessons and classes, and the teachers are all wonderful. I've danced competitively for several years as a child, and too busy for classes/lessons now, but if I were to get back into it - I'd come here. It's also just such a friendly and wonderful place - highly recommended.

Fred Astaire Princeton is a wonderful place to belong; everyone is friendly and genuinely enjoys teaching the art of dance.

The teachers are wonderfully supportive, patient, and encouraging, and they know their stuff! They give personalized attention and bring out your best. The studio is an environment "where everybody knows your name" -- you will always leave smiling. And the dance parties are really fun!
