Fish World is an awesome addition to Clermont. They are located in a strip mall off of Highway 50. It is next to a local favorite and respected barber shop. (Rock City) They appear to be more of a fish market over a restaurant because they only have three rickety tables and a huge open bare space. Don't let this stop you from ordering food because it is good enough to stand and eat. The sea life mural that covers most of the wall creates an atmosphere of fun. All of the employees were friendly and accommodating.
The seafood looks so fresh and delicious that you will be contemplating your return visit before you even take your first bite. I elected to dine in and was very happy that I did. The fish hit the table piping hot and perfectly fried. It was guilty pleasure good. Next time I will back off of the fried fish and order my fish blackened. I will try a couple of tasty sides. They offer garlic spinach, peas & rice and several other tempting items.Helpful 79Thanks 0Love this 82Oh no 0 - Dec 2, 2017
Had to check out this place after seeing several great reviews on Facebook recently. They have been open about 6 weeks now. Look for the green roof buildings near the Nissan dealership. We now have 3 different seafood restaurants to choose from in Clermont. This one has more of a Caribbean flair. The other 2 restaurants are British and Southern style.
This place is a combo seafood market with a small seating area to dine in or take out. It is very spacious and nice and cool inside. Surprisingly, it did not smell like fish, which I was half expecting it to. It smelled and looked very clean. Plenty of seating too. There were 3 dine-in tables of 4 plus a large L-shaped bench to sit at while waiting for your takeout order.
I'm not sure where I heard or saw it but I believe they will cook up the fresh seafood that they sell, if you want, for a nominal charge. There was a really great selection of fresh fish like monkfish, mahi, red snapper, shark and swordfish, along with the standard ones you would see at the grocery store like salmon and tuna, plus so much more.
Now, on to the reason I went here in the first place. We wanted to try their fish n chips and fish tacos. Both were delicious! The fish of the day was grouper. You can order your fish to be cooked in several ways: grilled, curry, jerk, steamed, brown stew or fried. We went with fried on our orders. While waiting for the order, the owner passed out samples of the fish stew and conch soup. I tried the conch soup and it was very good. The menu is not updated with soup selections and prices but I believe it changes based on the day of the week.
The 3 fish tacos ($8) were large and tasty with generous amounts of fried grouper in each one. There was pico de gallo, lettuce, cheese and the house aoili drizzled on top. I was told fries did not come with it so I ordered them on the side for $2.50 extra. Looking at the menu when I got home, it looks like a side comes with all orders so not sure if I missed out on something.
The fish n chips ($8.95) came with 4 large pieces of fried grouper and french fries. The breading was a little thick but delicious. No complaints. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. You can have it with tartar or the house aoili. Get the aoili! So yummy!
They are currently open 7 days a week. The back of the menu says Mon - Sat 10 am - 9 pm and Sun from 11 - 5. I saw different hours elsewhere so you might want to call and double check. Check them out!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Aug 31, 2018
Grabbed dinner to-go from fish world and was delightfully surprised. The store is very hard to find in general but at night is harder.
The young lady at the store is very patient and nice dealing with me ordering 8 dishes to go. For dinner I ordered grilled snapper with mash potatoes and macaroni and cheese along with fish and chips.
The grilled snapper looked appeasing but needed a little more salt and wished it wasn't so rubbery. The mash potatoes were delicious and macaroni is nothing to write home about.
Now let's talk about the fish and chips!!!! Even though my first order wasn't good, the fried fish was amazing. The fish was moist and flaky, seasoned well. The chips are your average potatoes that needed salt.
The rest of the family enjoyed their meal, the fried shrimp were huge and tasty. I didn't try the whole fried snapper but they seemed to like it.
Overall, will definitely return for the fry fish.Helpful 25Thanks 0Love this 21Oh no 0 - Nov 3, 2018
This counter service establishment is a hidden gem.
It's a no frills shop with about 4-5 tables. The menu is simple but the servings are generous.
Everyone was friendly and incredibly helpful with us narrowing down what our final decision would be for our lunch. I wanted to try all of it!
I ended up having the grilled fish tacos. I love fish tacos and am incredibly Judgmental on how they are made and taste. These were spot on! The flour tortillas were even crisped up perfectly. It was accompanied with a generous serving of fries, but you can choose any side with this ' lunch-sized ' portion.
My dad had the jerk scallops with the mashed potatoes as a side. He is one picky eater and was blown away by the flavour and size of the scallops.
I also Loved the garlic mashed potatoes.. I could take home a tub of it!
They also do take away for a small delivery fee.
If you love seafood, don't delay. Give this place ago!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Gretchen G.Orlando, FL277729May 27, 2019Updated review

This a great place to enjoy fresh seafood cooked to order. We visited this place for the first time we were impressed. The server was very knowledgeable about the daily catch and the preparation options. She recommended the grouper and scallops and she was right!!!! The blackened grouper was grilled and seasoned perfectly and the curry scallops were super tender and sweet. They have one best clam chowders I've tasted. The chowder was thick and creamy filled with clams and potatoes. You will not be disappointed folks!

Yum. I can't wait till they expand their menu or become more of a full service restaurant. Maybe that's in the works. For now there are three tables inside where you can dine or you can simply take your food to go. The shrimp tacos were amazing as were the fish tacos. We tried to get some of the sweet potato fries since we've heard such wonderful things about them but sadly they were out. The regular fries were good as well but we had just wanted something a little bit different. I guess we'll just have to try again. We'll be back.

After reading all the rave reviews on Facebook,I checked it for myself, and it did not disappoint! After much deliberation I settled on the Grouper Fish Tacos,to eat in. There are 4 tables inside, which quickly fill up! As I waited for my food, I noticed the phone ringing continuously for "to go" orders,non-stop costumers and the staff's awesome smiles and help. When my food was ready,a staff member brought it right over to me, piping hot and smelling good. Although I wanted to eat all 3 tacos, I was only able to stuff my face with 2. I would definitely recommend this little gem!
