Our daughter started there when she was 9 months old, and can't say enough how blessed we have been with all her teachers! There's 2 infant rooms, and our daughter went straight to the "older" ones. It makes us enormously happy that she comes into her classroom and is happy to see her teacher every day. The teacher assistants are great as well and give her so much love and attention.

After visiting various daycare centers/homes, we came to First Steps and immediately knew that would be it. They do maintain it very clean, and we feel that there is educational content for her even at such a young age. They do music and a lot of activities for their ages. We also loved that they had class rooms per age group, instead of having them all together.

We love how much they do love our baby girl and now that we were moving apartments we looked for places that were on the way or close to First steps since we don't want to move our baby out of here.

The teachers and directors here were absolutely wonderful, however the owner leaves much to be desired. I found her unprofessional and rude.

There is no outdoor playground onsite so the children must walk blocks and blocks away to a public playground. Not safe in Chelsea.

Where do I start as there are so many good things to mention about First Steps. We were lost in several tries to find a safe place for my then 11 months old son, VEER. After visiting several child care centers, we found this hidden GEM in Chelsea. Let me put some of the facts which we experienced when my son was going to this school and enrolled my daughter, VEEKSHA, as well in the same school with the wonderful experience we had with my son.
      1. Facilities are absolutely safe and secure from access front
      2. Periodic Fire Drills make the kids aware of the safety processes from their young minds
      3. Well qualified staff to tailor the education/behavioral processes to suit every child by meeting the parents' expectations
      4. Everyone is quite approachable and flexible starting from their Executive Director, Sabira, till the junior most staff. Their staff, including their top-level management, never missed to respond on-time to my frequent calls/emails and periodic visits, etc.
      5. A personal and human touch to every child is well visible when we pick up kids from school
      6. Completely WORRY FREE from the child abuse front as there are several day care centers in MA recently been found at wrong ends. HUGE THANKS to the team for this.
      7. They have age-based class rooms to ensure they are being educated in the age appropriate topics. This is amazing as these are not just individual classrooms and in fact every class is an institution as they have very interesting competition between the classrooms. This is more fun at holiday season.
      8. Kids get introduced to social responsibility activities and those were fun
      9. Education tours and picnics are always fun for the kids as the next two days will go in listening to the kids on their experiences.
      10. Good at bringing in discipline in every child with several interesting processes.
      11. Zero tolerance towards anything that hampers kids safety. I have known multiple times cleaning and disinfecting entire school just because one student was sick in one classroom.
      12. Gives a very good window to drop-off and picking up kids. THANKS again to the management for being flexible.
      13. Their curriculum is well paced so that kids don't get behind when they start their elementary education. This was so helpful for my son and he is put into Accelerated Learning programs now as he is well advanced in their grade programs.
      14. Weekly Newsletters from the teachers and frequent bulletins from the Management keeps you updated about all the parenting tips, Child appropriate Boston happenings and the kids status.

And a special mention should go to their teachers starting from Ms. Jessica Tejada, Ms. Suhey Roman, Ms. Bonnie, Ms. Andrea Colacitti, Ms. Latoya Alphonso, Ms. Andrea Gonzalez, Ms. Jeanine, Ms. Amanda (both the directors), Ms. Alicia, Ms. Mariely and of course Sabira as well for having a fabulous team. I might have missed mentioning some of the First Steps staff here but they all deserve a huge thanks for the job that's being done very well. Thanks FIRST STEPS for making a difference. Love, Merlapaku & Family.

I would like to share with anyone who is looking into First Steps Early Learning in Chelsea that we have had a great experience. Our son started preschool about 5 months ago and had a hard time adjusting at first but his teachers (Ms. Latoya and Ms. Andrea) have been wonderful and so warm to him every morning he arrives and have helped my son feel comfortable. All of the staff we have encountered outside of his classroom have been professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend this preschool!

First steps have been a great experience for my son and I... Yes they are a little more expensive than other places but they are so good to my son.. He learned a lot of things everyday... The team here in chelsea are awesome!!!! My son is a very picky eater and they still find a way to help him... I don't worry leaving my precious son with them cuz I know that he is in good hand.. Thank you guys for taking good care of him!! I appreciate it very much!!

I highly recommend this daycare for young babies; my experience has only been in the first two classrooms, dreamers and busy bees from 3 months to 13 months and counting. I can say that the teachers in both classes have been absolutely great. My son loves going to daycare and he runs to the teachers when I drop him off. He also hugs every teacher or kid that enters the class after him. Sometimes at pick up time he wants to continue playing, and when we leave the door open he runs to "the gym" where they take the kids to play at scheduled times. He clearly loves this place. He has been learning so many things, like high five and bye bye and the itsy bitsy spider hand gestures, it's everything I could ask for. It is impressive they stay open so many hours, 7:30 am to 6 pm. Pick up is at 5:50 pm.

Like every mother,I wanted to put my child in a safe and kind place that would be a part of his early childhood education. I saw first steps and was marveled. We have been their for over 2 years and my son dose not want to leave every time I pick him up!Everyday he comes home with a art project. The teachers even send pictures of what the kids are doing throughout the day! I am so sad we have to leave and the only reason why is because I'm moving. But I know We will always live with great memories of First steps. FYI: First Steps is very affordable compared to other day cares.

I'm surprised to see any bad reviews on this center. Our son is in the infant room there and I have nothing but positive things to say about his classroom as well as anyone I've spoken to in management. The activities are well organized, the center is clean, and the teachers have catered to any specific wishes (example: our son has some reflux so needs to sit up for a while before laying down for a nap). Drop offs and pickups have been smooth and secure and they have parking spots for convenience. The center director and asst director have been very helpful either in person, on the phone, or by email. I honestly am shocked to hear of any bad experiences here. We've had a wonderful experience here and would recommend the center to anyone.
