Came here at 3AM with some serious food poisoning. The physician and nurse were very helpful, and I received treatment almost right away. If you have a serious emergengy, I imagine that this place would be a lot better than a normal in-hospital ER.

That said, beware of what they're going to charge you! THIS IS NOT URGENT CARE, they are a full ER, and if you haven't met a deducible you'll be looking at a very heavy bill - I was charged $1600 for a visit of around 45 mins (between me and my insurance, they made out with around $4500). I was not prepared for this cost (I expected a few hundred dollars), and fortunately I was able to negotiate with them and get a discount for that care.

Should I have just toughed it out and waited for morning to go to urgent care? Probably... but when it's the middle of the night and you need care, there's really no other choice - just be aware that it's going to cost you.

I would not go to this provider unless you were on your deathbed, if you are, there's a hospital just a couple miles down the road.

I contacted them to find out what an average cost for treatment would be, so I would not have to go to an ER.
I spent 10 minutes trying to get an answer but didn't really get anywhere. I asked if I went in to get examined and asked for a CT scan, how much would it be. I was never given an answer.

Basically I was told that you come in, you get triaged and there are five different levels and they classify you. The doctor then tells the clerk, who then can tell you how much the charges will be, but that will cost you $650, which is also the deposit.

So they never gave me a roundabout figure or one flat fee just to walk in the door would be, a flat fee for a doctor exam would be or even high or low ranges.

I said "so at minimum I'm going to spend $650 to get examined and you could charge anywhere after that to -$10,000 and I will be stuck paying for it?"

I advise the girl speaking on the phone that I want to go to a minor emergency clinic because I didn't want to pay the full price of an emergency room and it sounds like that they could end up charging $5000-$10,000 easily. I told her it sounded like a bit of a scam because they won't give a high or low or rough estimate and the patient is stuck paying whatever they charge.

I understand they cannot give an exact price on what something cost, but like an emergency room, they can advise that it will be $800 for the room or the visit, and exam by the doctor is $600, x-rays could be $200-$400, a radiologist will be $150 etc. my issue was not life-threatening, I just wanted to go to them instead of the ER and going to my doctor was not convenient.

There should be a list and a price for basic items like mentioned above. I basically got the runaround for 10 minutes saying that at minimum, it will cost $650 to walk in the door.

This review was not for any services provided, just for their customer service on the phone by the receptionist. If this is how they run the business on the phone, I can only imagine how much trouble it would be to get a bill, and try to dispute or argue any charges.

If you follow any of these yelp reviews, and decide to go to this Business, don't be surprised if you go in for minor treatment and end up with a bill being several, several thousands of dollars.

This is not a Business that I would recommend.

I would not return here unless I had no other choice. I took my mother here after she got mugged and beaten for a couple of reasons: 1) urgent cares were closed as it was about 10:30PM, 2) the main concern was brain bleeding due to a concussion so she needed the scanning equipment available here that an urgent care wouldn't have had.

That said, my complaint is unrelated to the care. The care was fine. My issue is with the unethical pricing/billing practices. Because my mother does not have medical insurance I inquired up front via phone about how she would be charged and stated that she did not have health insurance. I was told on the phone that she would be looked at and that we would be quoted a price for treatment and that point could either pay or be on our way.

That is exactly what happened. I took her to this location, she was looked at, we received a verbal quote, payment was made, she was treated, and we left. I would say we were there no more than an hour. A month later she receives a bill in the mail for almost an additional $3,000 in addition to the $923 she had already paid that day. At no point before or during treatment were we told there would be any additional charges coming our way.

We did the best we could in a bad situation to assess what the charges would be up front (given that payment would be made 100% out of pocket) only to be blindsided later by additional charges. It's practices like this that give healthcare a bad name.

I have had to visit this urgent care 3 times and it's gotten progressively worse each time. The doctors have terrible bedside manners and the last time it took 2 hours to get an x-ray. The worst part is the receptionist and nurses who are horribly rude and don't provide any information on billing.
I would highly recommend avoiding this urgent care unless it's a true emergency.

      Hello!

I am in over one year of billing hell with you all due to a coding error. I came in for a sprained ankle of 3/19/16 and made sure to ask whether this would be an emergency room or a "Care Now" type of charge to which I was assured would be a minute clinic type of charge. A few months later I get a bill for $1,102.90. I call your billing folks at this location and it's quickly taken care of and readjusted to around $264 to which I promptly paid. Great!

Now one year later, I find out the bill was mistakenly sent to collections and there's no record of payment. I cannot get them to quit calling even though I assured them I am trying to contact you all. I call your assistance line (888.855.1779) and there's no one to answer! So I decide to Google what's going on and apparently this is a nightmare scam that's happening to people NATIONWIDE and the holding company is nearing bankruptcy (which is why no one is answering the phones).

I have a call in to your parent company's PR agency Hill + Knowlton since I happen to be in the field, but expect swift action to be taken immediately.

BEWARE!!! 1.5 YEARS OF BILLING NIGHTMARE.

Horrible and incorrect billing, customer service and turned over to Collections for their coding error.

I took my infant daughter here in Nov of 2015 for an emergency. No one was at the front desk and I had to yell to get someone at the front to be helped.

They put the wrong codes on the insurance paperwork and thus one and a half years (Mar of 2017) later I am still trying to get them to re-code the paperwork for insurance payment. I have zero patient responsibility and yet they have turned me over to collections for their billing error.

On top of that, they refuse to correct and resubmit the proper paperwork after involving BCBS of TX, my Insurance rep and over 20 hours on the phone with them personally. They never call back, never fax needed paperwork, won't release their incorrect info and never help, me, the patient.

Visited yesterday and was amazed at the quality service and care this facility had to offer. The process was easy, welcoming, and the ER staff was very knowledgeable, upbeat and patient. I paid my co-pay, and was assured that there should be no additional charges. I was in & out within 30 minutes.

Please Note: I was hesitant to come to this facility because of the other reviews regarding billing errors. I'm hoping that isn't the case here and they corrected the issues before I stepped into the facility.

      AVOID THIS FACILITY!!

Everyone seems to walk away with a $3k billing nightmare at the bare minimum no matter what ailment or how much time you spend after you walk through their doors.

Already known for over charging their patients and billing discrepancies I had a front row seat today at Texas Health Emergency Room when this location in Richardson evaded questions about their pricing and billing practices when we had to physically drive up to their facilities to clarify billing after numerous calls to their billing department AND their complaint department were never returned. The employees evaded every question and only seemed interested in getting us out of their facility rather than helping us contact someone who could resolve the situation with the bills received after treatment. When pressed to explain how they arrived at their so called "deposit for treatment amount" paid before they will even look at you the employees still evaded answering the questions. They claimed they have no idea how much your treatment will be until a doctor sees you YET they are able to somehow "estimate the down payment based on your injuries/ailments" prior to you seeing a doctor. Sound like a facility that bait and switches or "scams" their patients yet? Yeah.

Stay tuned. I will be updating this post as this situation unfolds further.

In the meantime sort this facilities Yelp reviews in date order with the most recent reviews on top and you will find that the majority of reviews are 1 star reviews all stating similar issues with billing and employees that are not up front with medical treatment costs. This dates back to the beginning of 2016. So for the past two years they have multiple similar negative reviews. This of course does not include the ones that are not "recommended reviews". I would advise people to look at those as well.

Still interested in using this facility for treatment? Check out their BBB reports/status.

These people really, really, took care of me. I couldn't be more grateful. Staff were expertly trained, facilities were comfortable, clean, and efficient. I'll come back in a heartbeat, when I need care.

My son, Everett, had a bite of salmon and about an hour later had an allergic reaction. He was scratching his throat and face, having trouble breathing and vomiting. We took him to Texas Health Emergency room- Richardson and it was the most awful experience. After signing in, a nurse named Scott took us back in a room and sat down, without even glancing up, he said with a caviler tone "what are his symptoms, cause he looks fine to me". At this time Everett had calmed down a bit, but was still gagging and scratching. We were shocked by his arrogant attitude towards us, but we continued to tell him what was going on. As we told him that Everett had been scratching and gasping for air, he exclaimed in a smirky voice "oh, gasping for air, sounds bad." Everett vomited several more times while we were there. He told us the Dr. would come see us soon. Both the other female nurse and the receptionist apologized for his behavior towards us, but he did not. He acted agitated and inconvenienced the whole time. He asked if our 18 month old was a smoker or a drinker and if he has suffered any physical abuse recently. The Dr. defended him saying that asking these questions is just part of his job. Scott came back in to give him a shot, just before he did, my husband asked him to remind us of what the shot was, (the Dr. had discussed a few different options with us) he said couldn't remember and went back to refill the syringe and make sure it was just Benadryl. He came up to give him the shot and just stuck it in his leg, the needle came out, bent to a 90 degree angle and cut across his leg and was dripping blood. He then wiped the cut with the same alcohol wipe that he used to clean the area before the shot, at this point Everett was screaming in pain. The nurse panicked and threw some band aids over it. Dr. Meador came down the hall asking what happened. He came in the room and changed the band aid that was soaked in blood and left without saying a word to us. We left immediately after this, as we could tell that not even they were confident in what they were doing and we did not trust them to do anything else. Thankfully our son is okay, but with absolutely zero help or treatment from this ER, the nurse, or Dr. Meador. Not to mention the $350 we had to pay for this visit. I am writing this so that some of you in the area will be aware and take your family anywhere else but here.

The cut the nurse made on my 18 month old with the needle that almost broke off in his leg. Never take your famiy to this hospital.
