Consistently good subs. We've ordered take out through the Yelp app and had a good experience. We've also ordered while we waited. Both experiences were good. Food is pretty decent for fast food subs. My only reasons for not giving this place five stars is the cleanliness and that the employees tend to have their own little conversations going on instead of helping the customers.

I live firehouse subs but I'm rating 1 star because I tried to place a phone order at lunch time today and I got a recording that the phone is not in service. I went to their store to order and eat there and told
Them I tried to call. They saw that they missed 14 calls. Nothing was done about it. The ohone did. Not ring the 1/2 hour I was there. I've run into this situation at other carry out restaurants besides firehouse subs. I have a suspicion the kids turn off the phone at peak hours so they are not bothered. I'm sure the store owner would not be very happy about missing these orders.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

This place is truly amazing! When we walked in we were greeted with smells of fresh baked break and a mirage of different meats! I had the Verde Turkey sandwich. It was warmed for me. I like the verde sauce combo with the turkey, lettuce and tomato. It was a messy sandwich, but so fresh that made up for it! Yum!
My wife liked her light hearty turkey sandwich, and of course our kids like the grill cheese. They gobbled it right up! Almost faster than their old man! That's fast!!
They have a special soda machine where you can create up to 120 different drink combinations. I had Dr Pepper with cherry and vanilla. Love it!
We'll be back for more of these subs!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shannon N.Brown City, MI0142Jan 7, 2017

Was not happy today...seems like the manager didn't know what he was doing. Came in and the place was foggy because they forgot to turn their fans on. The pop machine wasn't working but they still took money for pop u couldn't get. None of the tea was ready either. Once the food came, my pickle was still frozen with ice on it. Not satisfied at all today.

This place is nearby and in a nice location. The place is always clean and it smells good. I LOVE the firefighter theme.
When you walk in, you are greeted by a friendly employee who always says "Welcome to Firehouse Subs!". If you are still deciding on what to get on the menu, the employees will still smile at you. The staff is always friendly.
The service is very good. It will never take more than ten minutes. They even come to your table and serve it! They hand it to you gently and don't drop it on you. If they give the wrong person in your party the wrong order, they will quickly fix it.
The food is amazing. I always order a steak and cheese sub with just steak and cheese. The steak is always cooked and juicy; the cheese is always melted. A plus is there's a fancy Coke machine! Yum... Vanilla Sprite! The cups are HUGE for adults.
This place is the mother of all sub places. Way better than Subway. Every time I come here, it's always clean, quick, and yummy! I recommend coming here whenever you're around the area.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Donna B.Rochester, MI15742Apr 27, 2017
Firehouse subs is a relatively new chain to the area that offers hot and cold sub sandwiches and soups and also has a wide variety of hot sauces you can choose from to put on your sub. My favorite sauce peach'n'pepper is always out of stock and the club with that sauce is delicious. When thinking of all the sub places in the area I don't think firehouse is one of the best. I do like the atmosphere. This location is always clean. I would say it is one step above subway but I'd rather get subway because of the value. The subs are too expensive for what you actually get, and if you get it to-go and try to eat it even 5 minutes later a lot of the bread has steamed in the wrapper and turned to mush. This is a big turn off for me. So if you are going to eat at firehouse subs don't get it to go or get a cold sandwich to go. I'm not saying firehouse is horrible, I just usually prefer to get my food to go and eat it at home, and they are always out of my favorite sauce. I have let the manager know many times and even once the owner and they always say they will make sure to order it yet they never have it when I go in.
Overall firehouse subs is a good concept, they should consider packing their subs in a vented box for carry out, and they never have my sauce. Within a 10 mike radius you will find a dozen different sub shops most are the same price or less expensive and better tasting. Personally I'd suggest going somewhere else.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Donna, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We wanted to let you know that we are currently in the process of changing our carry out procedures. We will soon be placing all of our take out subs in a box versus the paper. This will help prevent sogginess when traveling.
Also, you mentioned that the restaurant is often out of your favorite sauce. If you ever wanted to, you could order the sauce directly from our vendor. The information for that is below. We also provided a discount code for you to use in the event you order any sauce.
Visit www.hotshotshotsauce.com/ and search for the sauce you wish to purchase. Upon checkout, enter in the following coupon code - FIREHOUSE07.
Thank you for being a Firehouse fan and we hope this will alleviate some of your concerns. - Karen P.Heatherwood Village, Rochester Hills, MI1816Sep 16, 2017
The restaurant was filthy. I have no idea the last time it had been cleaned. We arrived at 11am. They had only been open since 10 am. This mess has clearly been building up for awhile, not just this morning. I even heard another family comment that all the tables were dirty as they were choosing a place to sit. This disregard for cleanliness is unacceptable.

All Firehouse Sub shops are good, but this location is the best. It's just better than the other Rochester location and the one in Lake Orion.
