"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results." Glad to know I am not insane. I find it discriminatory and agist that they have NOT ONE booth that will seat 4 people in the Happy Hour section. I asked the hostess if she could accommodate my 85 year old mother in a booth and was flatly told no- Why would I expect any type of consideration for an elderly patron? Today my mother in laws hip was feeling a little better and we were able to help get her in to the high top chair.
I ordered hot tea- it was "cute" when they brought out a battered wooden box filled with sad old tea bags. No, Ferris- you will not be mistaken for The Ritz.
Betty was a lovely waitress. That was a nice upgrade.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2Dec 13, 2023Previous reviewI have been here on multiple occasions and each time it is 1 star. Why do I keep coming back you ask? My sweet elderly mother-in-law lives up the street. This is where she always came with her friends. They simply loved the "happy hour" and she fondly remembers the original Ferris location. Unfortunately, at this age- most of her friends can't join her anymore so I step in. This review isn't as much about the food - but more about the way this place always makes me feel! I would not consider this a fine steakhouse. This place has such a strange vibe. More of a chain ( think Applebees) with some steaks on the menu. Today, I ordered The Wedge-- the 1/4 wedge had bottled runny blue cheese dumped on it - canned diced tomatoes next to it- and tasteless ( bagged?) bacon bits sprinkled on top. MIL thinks happy hour is such a deal! (not-) and of course every time I take her, there is an issue. Last time they insisted that she sit at a high top (she is 85 and she can't get up that high) because she couldn't- we had to sit 1 table away and therefore no happy hour prices. REALLY? She was embarrassed enough that she couldn't get up - Today- there was a large group that came to drink- they took up the whole bar. We were not allowed to partake in "happy hour" prices since there was no room for us. We took our seats in the outdated, dark and sad dining room ( 1 foot away) I couldn't care less about not getting "happy hour" prices.. However my MIL was so disappointed since the guests taking up the seats were just drinking cheap bottom shelf booze and wine. Just do this loyal patron a solid and give her the pathetic "sliders" at a discount.
What is more disappointing then reheated frozen appetizers / flatbreads and leathery steaks- is the service. I am sure they struggle with turnover. But come on!-- just once I would like to be greeted with excitement- instead we get scolded about expecting to actually get to partake in their lame happy hour.
I will keep returning for her as the memories she has coming here with friends is more important then the food or service. I can't recommend this for anyone else. - 12262239Nov 15, 2023
We have not been here in years (old location), but we made a special trip from the East side (50 min drive) to revisit what we did remember b/c it was one of the most amazing dinners I've ever had. I recalled amazing french onion soup, a delicious black and blue filet - and wonderful ambiance.
We made reservations and were seated immediately. Waitress was wonderful and attentive. I ordered the french onion soup as an appetizer and the Surf and Turf (filet/scampi) with blue cheese crust. My husband ordered the surf and Prime Rib.
To start I was disappointed that my soup and (both of our salads) were delivered at the same time. I felt rushed to eat as to not let my soup get cold, while trying to enjoy our salads together. I would have liked to enjoy my soup separately without having to rotate back and forth between the two. When my filet was brought to the table, it was missing the blue cheese sauce on top which was my big request. The waitress returned to the kitchen to bring me a "side" of it - seemed as if it was microwaved b/c half was hot; half was cold. Filet was cooked perfectly and the side of garlic mashed was eh. I thought the scampi was cooked well, but it was so bland even with the butter (which seemed unsalted). My husband's prime rib was "average ...and not the best he ever had." He also said it was a bit on the fatty side. He loved the scampi and ate the remainder of mine.
I was also surprised at the dress code seated around us. We spent over $200 on this meal and were seated near two tables that had guests in construction work attire (neon sweatshirts, baseball caps, and work boots). Not that it affected our dinner, but when you're spending over $200 to dine - you'd expect some sort of dress code policy to make it feel a little more upscale.
Overall we won't make the trip to return. If we lived locally - perhaps we'd revisit, but certainly not what we remembered.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 22, 2023
This review is for the bar area. This is our second time stopping by for cocktails before dinner. One day we will have dinner here as it smells great inside...all those grilled meats!
My wife had a cosmo and I had the peach old fashioned. They have a great drink list. Thanks Matt for the great drinks and great service!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Ashley P.Lakewood, OH03257Dec 11, 2023
Went in to celebrate christmas with friends, so had a party of 8 on a Saturday night which I know isn't the easiest. Our service was friendly and fast, along with amazing food. Our appetizers included the special (seafood stuffed mushrooms) and French onion soup. Everyone's steak came out perfect, we will definitely be back!

Sad , we ordered 2strip steaks andThe special bacon wrapped fillet .
One strip wasn't even fit to eat they took off menu , the fillet was very coarse and was a 5 out of 10.
Service was very good.
Ambience was comfortable.
The owner should be embarrassed of the quality of the meat very disappointing.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Victor J.Cleveland, OH38251393Oct 14, 2023
This place is an old school wanna be steak house. The prices are WAY to expensive for the quality they dish out. Service was just ok as well. Place was clean. Wife and another person had swelling tips, really about 4-5 pieces of meat. I had the ribs full slab...9 bones. The "signature" bbq sauce is horrible. Salty bbq sauce? Stuffed peppers were a good app however we only got one and a half. Look, it's just not a 30-65 per plate place. Lower prices may have got them another star. When you charge top dollar you have to represent and this place just doesn't. I'm pretty sure the word is getting out. Friday night at 7:30 only 3 tables had people at them.

Had a wonderful meal at Ferris Steakhouse. Took my friend there for her birthday and we both had the Black & Bleu Filet and it was amazing! Cooked perfectly and the bleu cheese sauce on top was amazing! Our waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive but gave us time and space to talk and catch up. She wasn't annoyed when we needed more time to look at the menu because we were chatting. They had a very nice wine and cocktail selection. Their bar area looked really nice and I could see sitting there having a drink and watching a game as they had tv's all around it. The restaurant is very classy and well decorated and the bar area is very nice too and I would call it an upscale bar area but a place where you would feel comfortable watching a sports game. We will definitely be back.

Just in town on vacation, stopped here and was not disappointed. When I say everything on the table was delicious its not joke. All the dressings are made in house. Steak cooked perfectly to order, and the lemon chicken was probably in my top 3 lemon chicken dishes lol. The bread is served with soft whipped butter check this place out super yummy!

Came here for a work related function. We were greeted upon entering through the door, and was immediately shown to our table in the back room. Once we decided which of the three tables to sit at, a staff member came to take our drink order. There were 20 of us in attendance, and the staff members working at our tables did an amazing job! They were attentive to everyone in our group. Our drinks arrived quickly after ordering.
We shared three appetizers: flatbread, calamari, and stuffed peppers. All were delicious but the calamari was my favorite. The flatbread was good too, and liked the spice level of the stuffed peppers.
For my meal, I ordered the 14 oz strip steak, with baked potato and a house salad. Their house dressing is amazing. My steak was cooked perfectly, medium, just as I ordered. Others at my table really enjoyed their meals too. Other items ordered by people stunning near me were pork chops and scallops. I heard that the scallops were very good and cooked well; not overdone and had a good flavor and texture. The pork chops were also cooked well, and seasoned perfectly too. They looked really juicy. The portions are large here and I ended up bringing some of my meal home. So did others at my table.
The staff worked hard and were efficient. They were also very nice. I didn't feel like we had to wait long for anything. There was also someone just to refill water glasses. We were thanked for having our work event here. Looking forward to eating here again!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Henleee E.Diamond Bar, CA2276Apr 24, 2023
A good place with good food. My wife had a salad with beef and I had the Chicken Marsala. Both dishes were done right. Food was tasty and satisfying. Service was very good and our server was attentive to our needs. Others in our party had steak dishes that they enjoyed. We would come again if we lived in the area.
