We were driving past the Farmers Market Restaurant in Florida City & decided to try local farm to table food. They did not disappoint.
We started with fresh cold iced tea & coffee.
I had the fresh Key West Pink shrimp, fried with delicious steak fries, coleslaw & cocktail sauce. My husband had a delicious fresh vegetables omelette with home fries.
Excellent service & delicious foods. Definitely will travel back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 6, 2023
A nice find for a late breakfast. Traditional American food with old fashioned kind service. As vegetarian I was able to order a good tasting veggie omelet with a bunch of different vegetables in it. As a side they have home made fries, grits or potato puree. We appreciated the nice homey food, and the old fashioned tea and coffee mugs. The biscuit that came with the omelet was nice and hot; I had to ask for real butter as they serve some kind of half butter product but they gave me a little dish of real butter. The restaurant sits next to the Florida City Farmer's Market, hence the name. It was not very busy when we came in.

Solid three stars, close to four. They are busy for breakfast with fluffy eggs and pancakes. Eggs are really good. I don't know what they do to them, but they have the best flavor. I also came for dinner with my brothers and they loved the meatloaf. I had spaghetti and meatballs and it was just like my mom made it. Tasted homemade and the meatballs were big and juicy. Their iced tea was also good. Have to have sweet tea when you're down south like this! They have a large menu so you can please everyone in your party. Very simple inside with plain tables and chairs (no booths) and a small counter area. Nothing fancy just good country food.

When the waitress went to put it down in front of me, the spaghetti began sliding off the plate toward my lap. I immediately slid back and put my hands up to catch the noodles from falling on me, and the pasta and sauce were so hot, my hands and fingers were scalded! I began trying to fling the sauce from my hands. It was burning so bad, I stuck my hands in my spouse's drink. I'm certain this is all on their security camera. I ran to the bathroom to wash up and cool my hands and when I returned, we had a new table and she reordered my spaghetti and apologized. She left the plate of fallen noodles and meatballs on our table. My spouse ate his Turkey and dressing, which was good, and I waited for my food. I forked one of the meatballs from the plate on the far side of the table and ate it while I waited - ten minutes. In all, our order was $75. Tip $15. The cashier insisted on charging us for the spaghetti - and not only that but an extra $6 for the meatballs that I ate. What??!! We asked them to file an incident report and take my name but she refused. There was no manager on duty. I am deeply disappointed in the reaction of the two staff waitresses. I tipped her because accidents happen. She apologized. But the charging of meatballs and the dinner was ridiculous and will forever leave a bad taste in my mouth! I really do like the food here but this episode needs addressed.

Tremendously!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mark K.Bolingbrook, IL4469Jun 22, 2023
Stopped in for breakfast on the way to Keys and had the country breakfast. Eggs where made the way I asked and grits and biscuits and gravy were very good. Bacon had a different taste but I'm going to say it from the region the pigs are raised. Out in the Midwest we must feed our piggy's a higher fat diet like McDonalds lol.

The best catfish & fried cabbage I've ever had. It's a little hole in the wall feeling but the food is excellent. Don't let the outside fool you it's what's brought to your table that really counts & everything we got tonight was delicious.

This place never disappoints. Been here several times, over the years. Half way between Cape Coral and Key West, is my first stop for a great breakfast. Excellent food, service, with old Florida country flair...!!
