I never knew healthy treats could taste so darn good! Welcome to Fare! Their menu includes cold pressed juices, smoothies, baked goods such as muffins, cookies, fruit breads, cupcakes, essential oil shots, and they have grocery items. Some of the grocery items include cauliflower "hummus", kale chips, vegatable chips, and crackers. They even make king cakes! Two of my absolute favorite items here are the chocolate chip cookies made with all natural ingredients and sweetened only with honey, and the second is the apple pie sticky bar. This bar is made with the fruit pulp left over from the pressed juices and somehow they make it into this little bar that actually taste like apple pie. So good! If your ever in need of a tasty and healthy snack look no further because Fare has what your looking for.

Nice to find a gluten free bakery with a broad selection. Cookies, cupcakes, muffins, and more. We sampled a couple cupcakes and some chocolate chip cookies. Both were good, nice texture and good flavor. The avocado frosting on the chocolate cupcake was really good.

Only downside was the eating area was out of forks and some of the tables were not cleaned after prior customers.

This was a neat little shop. They produce a variety of products for people looking to eat clean or those who are into the Vegan lifestyle. I tried a smoothie, juice, and a rice dish where the rice is made entirely of vegetables. I must say that this was very good. They also have many other products around the store so pop in to tool up for a healthier diet.

This shop is definitely an interesting concept and there are lots of folks who will appreciate the gluten free, healthy fare. I was interested in some of their veggie chips but didn't want to buy a whole bag at $7-8 without a taste which unfortunately they didn't have while I was there.

I did get a gluten-free chocolate chip cookie made with almond flour, since that's always a good tester item. The chocolate was organic and rich. The cookie was good but it tasted like cake and was really soft.

I'll have to remember them the next time I'm in the mood for a smoothie. It looks like they will be expanding in the future so I'll be interested to see where this shop goes.

A must stop for any health conscious eater.
These kind folks take dishes they love and recreate them using all paleo ingredients. And they don't stop until it TASTES GOOD.

      Thank you!!!!

Smoothies are made the right way: They freeze their own organic fruit and use almond milk as the base (tried coconut milk but not enough demand...c'mon people...request coconut milk!)

Aside from their awesome smoothies and desserts they have a growing list of healthy options for a light lunch or dinner.

Huge variety of salads, dips, and spreads:
      Apple carrot salad,
      Hummus and olives,
      Baba ghanoush,
      Tomato basil salad,
      Kale cabbage beet salad,
Red cabbage slaw w/ carrot ginger dressing,
      Cauliflower curry salad,
      Sweet potato pistachio salad,
      Cabbage apple sesame slaw,
Quinoa salad (a lil dry in my opinion),
      Gazpacho
Chicken Cobb salad w/ creamy avacado vinaigrette
Veggie salad w/ tomato basil dressing

I really hope this place thrives and grows. They hope to expand their prepared foods as the demand grows.

There's no sitting area inside (on purpose) as they want to focus on being a healthy bakery, grocery and food take-out store. But there are some cool white chairs and tables outside!

It's been two years since moving to NOLA, and two torturous Mardi Gras seasons watching other people partake in the iconic KING CAKE. This was my year.

FARE is a DEDICATED GLUTEN-FREE (GF) bakery that creates its entire menu sans flour, dairy, soy and sugar. The king cake comes in two options: vegan or not (I opted for not) and all ingredients are conveniently listed next to each product.

Having never had a traditional king cake, I can't speak to how well FARE's version translates. This was very dense and on the dry side (could tell it was GF), but well complimented by the gooey cinnamon filling. Instead of a glaze, the cake was topped with a divine, airy frosting and shredded coconut in classic Mardi Gras colors.

If you're averse to the texture of crumb cake, then this probably isn't for you. Or maybe opt for a cup of coffee or tea to balance the sweetness and texture. Still, it's nice to know that even if you've got dietary restrictions, you can still have your cake and eat it too this Mardi Gras.

First of all, love that this place is paleo/gluten-free friendly! It's tucked in a shaded area of Magazine and stocks all sorts of goodies including salads. Next to where you order/the bakery corner is an area to sit (also inside), which is nice.

The smoothies were awesome! We got the strawnana and Hawaiian flavors. The ingredients are awesomely just "fruit and ice" according to the person making them. However, not so nice is that they use frozen pre-made everything and just pop it in a magic bullet to freshen it up. I would think for $7/pop that we would get some fresh fruit (even if just part of the smoothie was fresh).

Regarding the cookies... I am so sad! We got a spice and chocolate chip one. Honestly, I'm no baker - but definitely have some better gluten free recipes. I'm not sure what was off, but they tasted like flour. Perhaps we just got a bad batch? We would definitely give it another try if they change their cookie recipes.

Paleo. The food here is paleo. i am not a Paleo fan, but am on an anti-inflamation diet to counteract arthritis, and it is very similar to the Paleo diet. So even though I despise the inconsistent rules of the diet that tries to mimic those of the paleolithic era, places like this are a god send. I could eat almost everything on the menu, which never happens. Their Plantain crackers may be the best gluten-free crackers that i have had. The prices are a bit steep for the size, but all in all not a bad option, especially if you are on a funky diet.

My friend and I have been frequenting Fare several mornings per week for the past 2 wks. for fresh juice as part of a healthy new routine. The 1st few times, we felt welcome and the juice was freshly made, most of the ingredients were available with the exception of pineapple. Tried to get a latte yesterday, but their machine was not working.

This morning my out of towner friend who loves Fare's fresh juice went there to pick up 2 drinks. Oranges & carrots were unavailable with only a small amount of pineapple, which knocked out several options on their menu at 11:30 a.m. The juicer was not used for these drinks. Rather than making the juice fresh, it was poured from pitchers.

One of the main reasons we were going there was for the fresh juice. Fresh juice should be consumed within 20 minutes for the most nutrients. The place has potential but we hope they get more consistent with menu availability and freshness.

I've had my eye on this place for awhile now, before it even opened, and finally got a chance to grab a snack with a friend a few weeks ago. The woman working behind the counter was super friendly and helpful. We ordered smoothies and I got the banana bread. Smoothies too a bit longer than I would have liked, but they were tasty and definitely healthy! Banana bread was also delicious - gluten free, too!

They are most definitely still in the process of opening. The second half of their store was basically empty and their fridges were pretty bare. Would like to see more lunch options in the future, but they have a lot of smoothie and juice options for now, as well as pastry options. It is definitely expensive, though. ~$15 for a smoothie and banana bread with tip. Just be prepared. Looking forward to see how they do and going back in a few months!
