I went to families first dentist today to have my gums scaled at a cost of $275.

When I got there I was told that I had to have additional exam and xrays because it had been 2 years. (Covid). I suggested coming back at a later date for that. They said no! I needed to do that first.

Now I had been there twice in the past year for fillings, but noone mentioned xrays and exam needed at those.

I told them I only had the $275 for the scaling, (which THEY told me I really needed at the last filling!)

They refused to do the the gum scaling before the additional exam and xrays.

SO,I had to leave, upset and embarrassed, because I couldn't pay for any additional work and I only had the $275.00 for the SCHEDULED gum scaling.

They know how bad I needed the scaling!

Needless to say after refusing to do the procedure I was actually there for, I will no longer be using this dentist.

They obviously care more about the Almighty Buck then my receeding gums, otherwise, they would have just made another appt. for exam and x-rays at a later date, right? Am I crazy? Simple resolution.
They lost my $275 and a faithful paying customer. (5 years at least)

      God Help us!

I tried to become a new dental patient. I called several times, they did not return phone calls. The one time I did get someone on the phone they claimed they returned my call earlier in the day. When I checked my call log, there was no received call. During that call I was informed I had to fill out paperwork online before they would schedule an appointment. I followed up several days after I sent in my paperwork was told my paperwork was in a stack of other requests. I was further informed when they got to it they would call to set up the first appointment. After waiting a week I gave up.
I called up a different dental office, and was able to schedule an appointment on the phone no waiting.... I don't have the patience to become one of their patients!

I have been with familys first for about 6 yrs. They are very caring and doctors seem genuine. However, their system needs examining. They tell you to call for same day appointments. So you call at opening time on the dime as advised which is 8:30 and they tell you a nurse will call you back. So when they finally call you back in my case was at 10 they told me there were no appoints available and recommended I go to a walk in clinic. This has happened several times as of late. Never had this happen with any other medical practice. Thinking they need to limit their amount of patients so they can be loyal to them and actually give them the care they deserve as needed.

This place is a joke, literally a meat market where you take a number and they give you mediocre health care. Just because people are low income doesn't mean people should be treated with poor health care, rude unprofessional staff and nurses and doctors who have no clue. I called the dental clinic after not having been in 3 years and was told because I hadn't been in awhile I was removed as a patient and no longer accepted as a patient. Not to mention the years I used them for health care and got no answers for my ongoing health issues. Avoid these people at all costs and seek real health professionals.

Great place with high quality doctors who legit care. So many services in one location. They have a sliding fee scale for those who are low income.

I have been coming to this location for its dental center for years for my son who is now seven. They have done nothing but provid the worst dental care for him. When he was 5 he had a small cavity I asked if they could remove it. You know drill it out and put a small filling in. The incompatant dental team said it was unnecessary to work on it because it was just a tempary cavity and not a cavity that would do any harm. I guess for me I shouldn't of been such an idiot. That small removable cavity has now destroyed his whole tooth. I then went in two times to have them work on his tooth now they see its worth helping and instead of helping they only hurt him worst. They said they put a tempary filling in but they honestly had no idea what they were doing and didn't even do a filling basicly used this what they call cavity eater but really its just a tooth decayer.. they said they filled it in but when I got home it was still there with no filling in site. My poor child has now been in pain all day and night and I dont dare take him there. I dont think anyone should go there ever it is horrible. If you are going there to help your dental health they dont they are not the place to go.
