My husband and I worked with Tom Gibbons and he was absolutely amazing at listening to our needs and communicating all the housing options to us. Housing options were super easy to look through and book online. He ended up helping us find a great home (first purchase) and was able to walk us through all the steps and put us in contact with great people to work with. Great experience and we highly recommend!

We saw about 10 properties through the FairGreen real estate among a period of one year. We finally found one property we liked and purchased. Our agent was Jason Rowland. Our first condo purchase experience with him was;...I felt that he gave me a minimum support. I think it could be better. At the most important event, the closing, no one from FairGreen showed up at the event. Jason told me he was busy. Amazing, no one from his office came to the closing on behalf of him.
No-following up with me, still today. I guess after he got a check, he doesn't care. Fortunately I got an awesome mortgage broker, Michael Bencks from neighborhood loans, he helped me so much, gave me sincere advise, and support me every step, because of him, I was able to close.
Do I want to recommend Jason to my friends? Maybe not...

As my experience was only a short time it was a little aggravating knowing an apartment I liked and wanted to see wasn't going to happen, felt like a waste of time to even email me. Anyway, I received an email from an agent who her and I were emailing each other back in a timely manner until she just stopped and disappeared. I sent a second email with question marks for a reply and I have not gotten a response since. I emailed back 3rd time letting her know it was no longer necessary, that's if she even thought about letting me know - anything.

I scheduled an apartment showing with Samantha Gibbons, one of the leasing agents at FairGreen, for her earliest available apartment viewing, which was a Saturday morning at 10a. At 9:30a that morning (30 minutes prior to our apartment showing), I sent her an email just to confirm that we were still on. 5 minutes later, she said she wasn't able to get a hold of the tenant to show me the apartment in a very curt manner. I then immediately emailed to schedule the next available time slot and was met with complete silence.

First of all, why am I the one having to reach out to learn of this cancellation? Had I not done that, Samantha may not have been decent enough to warn me ahead of time. Second of all, why would you ignore an email that was sent to you within 2 minutes of your last reply? At least follow up and say that there are none or that there are applications sent already--or something.

She was completely unprofessional and an absolute waste of time and I'll be telling my friends to avoid working with FairGreen Real Estate when looking for an apartment or condo.

This is gonna be a long one but bear with me: it's good.

My roommate and I leased an apartment from FairGreen two years ago and had no problems the first year. My roommate moved out and I took over the lease by myself. His name was never on this new lease but apparently FairGreen still thinks he lives here after he and I have repeatedly told them he doesn't and they still harass him.

Back in July of my second year FairGreen informed me that they were selling the building to an "Elma Management" and gave me the new contact for the landlord. But somehow these people still work for FairGreen and are associated with them and I have no idea who actually is responsible for the building.
Things went downhill from there.

First they turned my cooking gas off for some reason and then told me it was my responsibility to call People's Gas and get it turned back on. Then my apartment was broken into and neither the police or I could get a hold of them until later at night while I'm sitting in my unit with a broken window and glass all over the place. And it takes them a week the replace the window after cancelling on me multiple times, so for a week I was left with a piece of plywood. Great. Then during the polar vortex the radiators broke and water leaked everywhere. Again management took hours to actually get back to me about the issue, and they still never got around to fixing any of the damage. On top of it they take weeks the cash rent checks that are due on the first of the month.

I'm moving out now and of course I anticipate them showing my unit, but they never give me notice. My roommate got a text (again my roommate that doesn't live with me) and he tells me about these showings. I've called the leasing agent and he never responds, so I guess people are just going to stop by whenever they want.

Honestly I'm so glad I'm leaving and not renting from FairGreen or "Elma Management" or whoever owns this building. Good luck to those who do.

By chance, I had stumbled across this interesting apartment one evening, and emailed to get some more information. To my surprise, Kevin emailed me back within 30 minutes, and less than two hours later, I was in the apartment for a viewing. Kevin not only showed me the apartment I found online, but also another of the same qualities. He was even so kind enough to schedule another viewing two days later, so that my roommate could come take a look. We ended up going with the second apartment he showed us, and have loved it ever since. If you're looking for a genuine human being, who doesn't push places or prices on you, Kevin is your guy. We are so happy with our experience with Thomas at FairGreen. He helped us get an offer on our condo in a matter of days. We closed on the sale less than six weeks after our condo was listed!

He was great at communicating with us via email and phone calls and was very flexible with our schedules and willing to jump on the phone at any time to explain different parts of the process to us. You will not meet a more dedicated broker. This was our first time buying, and we had no less than a million questions. Sometimes I had questions at 630 am. Sometimes 1100 at night. I don't think the phone ever rang more than once. Even when the process took longer then we thought and cut into his vacation time, he planned far ahead of time, making sure we had coverage from his "right hand man" Nick, who was also great to work with.

Jason is direct, honest, and responds to emails faster than Doc Holiday can draw a pistol. He's everything you need in a broker to navigate the myriad of issues that can (and likely will, sorry) come up when buying in Chi town. He truly represents his clients to get them the best deal, but manages expectations throughout, which is a really refreshing quality.

Finally, Jason took care of everything. Like I said, we were new to this whole thing, and totally intimidated. He had recommendations for the top people in the respective roles that we needed to close and get the best deal. Even though the process had its speedbumps (through no fault of our team), we truly feel the process couldn't have gone better, and we owe that to Jason and his team at FairGreen.
