I was in Des Moines, Iowa for the death of my Mother in September. During my stay I broke down emotionally several times. The front desk staff had witness that on a couple occasions. Their customer service was always at a 10. Yet there is one employee who went above and beyond for me during my time of grief and pain. Corey watched me breakdown emotionally as I couldn't find my room key. She immediately consoled me and was so kind. It didn't stop there. She wrote me a hand written colorful card and left it outside my door. This made my heart so happy. For it was what I needed.
My overall experience with the staff and this property was beyond amazing. From the breakfast in the morning. To the gym. Most importantly though to the outstanding customer service and caring hearts of the staff. Corey we will NEVER forget you and truly hope you get a RAISE or something. For you have an amazing heart and customer service.

This hotel has one positive, the wonderful lady at the front desk! She was helpful, kind, went our of her way with our toddler to make our stay pleasant. Everything that happened since then has been terrible! Our reservation was made on the wrong day accidentally by their front desk so we were charged twice and they have stopped calling us back and have not issued us a refund for the additional charge almost 2 months and 10 phone calls later. The manager is IMPOSSIBLE to reach. The hotel is nice, but be very careful of your reservation and watch your bank account! The management doesn't care about your money or frustrations.

Bathroom floor are really slippery and the hotel should be a super 8 at best. Room was big but needs updates. Bed springs made noise every time you moved and the first floor smelled like someone just cooked some stinky food. Alot of parking spaces but almost lost the front end of the car in a pot hole.

My stay was just about perfect, leaving "no room for improvement". The hotel is relatively new with nice furnishings. Location is near interstates I-35 and I-80 so easy to find and get to. Several good restaurants are within one block, and there are dozens within a mile. Downtown is 10-15 minutes away.
The lobby is nice, and the breakfast menu is typical Hampton/Drury/Fairfield variety. Staff kept it flowing nicely.
Front desk staff were very nice. This hotel is not just clean, but rather spotless, squeaky clean. Therefore, housekeeping staff no doubt well trained.

New hotel with super-sized, clean, comfortable rooms. If this is what Fairfield Inns is aiming for, I like it. The facilities are great, as well. I took advantage of the pool and fitness center, both of which were well equipped.
Plenty of basic dining options nearby, well-lit parking lot, and a friendly staff make this a great place to stay.
The breakfast is the standard hotel fare, nothing exciting, but it is free.
The WiFi is outstanding. The fastest I have used in a hotel and my connection never dropped.
One thing I noticed: quiet. I could not hear traffic noise in my room. I think Marriott must have stepped up the sound proofing.
Overall, another positive experience with Fairfield.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Hey T.Salem, OR118Jun 29, 2020
Marriott properties have been my go-to hotel for years on my travels. I typically stay at this location 6-8 days per year but no more. Why? Breakfast. I appreciate the challenges of the pandemic but placing a SMALL tray of 15 cent plastic donuts and an occasional bagel-no cream cheese-no jelly-and calling that bfast-is ridiculous. They could stock a refrigerator steps from the front desk with yogurts/juices, but no. No towels in the workout room either. For better bfasts you're better off at Super 8 or Holiday Inn Express across the street. What a shame.
