My husband and I lived at Executive House Apartments for 6 months. We chose EH because of the location (it's right downtown on 2nd St behind Pinnacle Hospital within an easy 5 minute walk to several bars, restaurants, and the Susquehanna River), the ability to get a short term lease, and you could have pets without paying a pet deposit or monthly pet fee (we have 2 cats. I don't know if that would apply for dogs or if dogs are even allowed. I don't think I ever saw any).
We rented a studio apt on an Executive level of the building. Floors 1-3 are "Executive Level". They've been remodeled to look like a lot of the new apartments you see in complexes these days. The studio was spacious and cozy. It even had a European-style washer/dryer where it washes and drys your clothes all in one. The downside of that was your clothes never got 100% dry and it took about 3 hours to do one load of wash.
I don't know what the walls are made of, but we NEVER heard our neighbors. We'd come home from the bars at 2am and blare EDM. No complaints ever.
Garage parking is available for $90. It's unassigned parking but it's a big garage so you'll always get a spot.
The downsides were that the rent was a little high for a short term lease, if you are in an apt that faces 2nd St you will hear a lot of sirens because of the hospital, there are A LOT of homeless people downtown who will constantly ask you for $, and there aren't enough things to do in downtown Harrisburg that would make me want to live there long term.
However, if you are in town for work for a short amount of time for work, like we were, I highly recommend this apartment building. The residents we encountered were friendly and outgoing. People from all walks of life live there. Most importantly, John, the leasing agent, is FANTASTIC!!! Seriously, one of the best leasing agents I've ever worked with.

Loved it here. The leasing manager, Jon, was awesome. Made it a great experience and was very accommodating. There were some cons along with the pros. Most people here brought up some of the noise from the streets and elevators being kinda slow some days, but overall everyone is nice and its a pleasant place to live.

I stayed for a year and part of me didn't want to leave after I found a new place.

I've lived here for the past 3 years from 2015-2018 in one of the newer/newly renovated studio apartments. The studios are very spacious with all the nice trimmings, modern appliances etc.. Maintenance staff (Jose & Eddie) has been excellent and attentive. Jonathan, the property manager/leasing agent has been very helpful and responsive (which is very important in a big property like this) throughout these three years. Because of work, I had to leave the area. Otherwise, I would've continued to stay at EH apartments.

P.S. The walls in this place were amazing. You never hear your next door neighbors.

These are still nice apartments. I think they still have the gym. The room you can book for parties is nice. The lobby is still has that old school feel. The elevators are still slow as molasses. But most things are as they were, which is why I didn't lower my 3-star rating. But the quality has gone down hill over the years.

When I lived there the local management ran the place. I went away for vacation the day after I moved in. I didn't have a bed yet. But the local management knew my mother. So they let her into my apt to deliver a bed for me. How nice!

They were lickety split with repairs! They were even lenient with some of the rules as a reward for being a good tenant. They gave me a deal for having a cat (they didn't charge me). I was behind one month and they didn't charge me the late fee since I'd been so regular up until that point.

      Lots of awesomeness.

When I moved out the big wig management in Philly had begun to take over. I got this WHOMPING bill for past "cat rent" plus late charges on those fees PLUS the late charge from the one waived month WITH a late fee for that! It took me months to dispute it. The local management where very sorry and SOOO empathetic but had their hands tied.

I've been back multiple times to visit friends who now live there. But the lobby seems run down. The hallways smell. The carpet needs cleaning. The walls seem dingey. Repairs go for a while before being fixed.

It's very central to everything a person without a car could need. But I'm not sure they're the best option any more.

My experience was very good at Executive House Harrisburg. I had just accepted a new job in Central PA and needed a three month apartment lease until I could move my family into a house in the West Shore suburbs. The property manager Jonathan was a top notch professional expertly equipped to help new tenants with anything they needed during their stay. Jonathan was very responsive and that is exactly what you want when you are in new surroundings. The renovated apartment I stayed in was nice...was it the Ritz Carlton? No, but the price tag wasn't either. The tenants I met coming and going were always very friendly and smiled/said hello. The parking was great too with easy access in and out and plenty of spots. Based on the renovated apartment (that was very reasonably priced) that I stayed in coupled with Jonathan's approach to delivering great experiences, I would recommend EH as a place you really should check out for yourself.

I have lived in The Executive House for 20 years. In that time I have seen two managers, the second and current was a leasing agent when I moved in. The fact that I have lived here in downtown Harrisburg in the same building for 20 years should say something about how I feel about The Executive House and it's staff. The building is ran professionally, good staff, fast resolutions to issues, and friendly faces. The building is clean and kept up nicely. Like every building she has some issues, things do breakdown, but are promptly repaired.

It is simply a great place to live.

I visited this building this year, (2015), and was shown a few of the apartments. I was so disappointed. the first thing you notice is a lingering odor which is also present in the hallways of the lower level apartments.
The carpet on these levels is also badly stained.

The lobby looked nothing like the advertised picture. it was dark, old, and small. The elevators were the same, dark and old. About 4 floors up, the hallways have been refurbished and actually look and smell nice, but the apartment I was shown on that level was clearly as old as the lobby. It would seem that all the remodeling efforts went toward the hallways of the upper levels but not the apartments.

The "gym" is a very small room with about 5 or 6 workout units. It looked like a room once used as an office. After seeing what Executive House had to offer on the inside I had no desire to inquire about their pool.

I've honestly never seen a property, advertised so beautifully on a website, disappoint me so completely. In all honesty I couldn't imagine anyone feeling comfortable living there. Go and see for yourself !

Modern furnishings, high ceilings and easy transition. Within walking distance from the hospital, restaurants, Amtrak train and gymn. Management is friends and approachable and it was a great choice for me as a resident.

I only park in their garage, but I have witnessed their renovation process and it looks impressive! I complete renovation of the lobby and the 2nd to 4th floors. The garage was repaired and is being cleaned regularly, the did some nice landscaping and water works out front.... what next??? The pool???? The office staff friendly. I have had friends live here and they never complain.
