Evans Creek

We had an existing waterfall and pond that had grown frumpy and needed to go. We wanted to replace the waterfall with something more modern and beautiful, and completely eliminate the pond. We contacted numerous contractors including Daniel Higgens at Evans Creek who came out, looked the project over and gave us an excellent, detailed, professional bid. Subsequently, we engaged Evans Creek to do the work. A few weeks later, work began and right in the middle of torrential rains, we discovered that we had a serious drainage problem. This flooding issue became a project all on its own. Daniel gave recommendations on how to mitigate the problem and work on this project was also underway.

In the end, multiple french drains, catch basins, lights and waterfall large granite boulders were installed. I cannot speak highly enough to the professionalism of Daniel and his crew. Each day, our worksite was left clean and orderly. Each day, the crew showed up on time without fail. And besides a deep body of technical knowledge, Daniel has a tremendous gift of design. Our new waterfall is not just functional, but it is beautiful as well. We are very grateful to all the guys at Evans Creek.

I would never recommend Evans Creek. After signing a large contract for installations, the owner did not start the work until weeks later in the high heat season. Then, he would ask to be paid for progress draws "immediately" and on the spot the day he finished each section. He would wait for his check to be processed. The sprinkler system was broken by the crew numerous times, which he blamed us for not furnishing the information of there the lines were located. However, the damage was done first and he never asked for the location of the lines. We thought they would notice as professionals. We paid the $15-20K to repair those broken lines. It was unpleasant enough to deal with them but we paid them in full. About 9-10 months later we contacted him for 5 dead trees (out of 220 installed) to be replaced under warranty. He said he would have to check the trees first. And we waited. He would say he was busy or just not return calls but a few months later finally responded that he would not honor the warranty as his determination was the 5 trees died because of lack of watering...recall he broke the sprinklers and installed in hot weather.
I could accept all of this frustration but the owner threatened if I left a bad review for him anywhere that he would "go after" me for libel. $80,000 paid to this man and his unprofessionalism is stunning to say the least.

their website says they have a comprehensive landscape maintenance program. However when I called them for a quote they told me quite condescendingly they weren't a "mow and blow company" without even seeing our property!

We had a great experience working with the folks at Evans Creek. They provided excellent guidance for us with placement and product selection of our low voltage yard lights. We've had lots of compliments and are really enjoying the new look the lighting provides in our landscape. The service we received were personnal and professional & we highly recommend them.
