Very expensive for what it is, I thought. However, the selection is good and they have lots of unique and rare things.

Eugenia's is impeccably organized. From the moment you walk in, that's what will strike you. I've never been in any other antique store that is so well taken-care-of, from the organization and condition of the antique items to the cleanliness of the store in general. It makes shopping for antique hardware (or whatever else you seek) a breeze.

The staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful. When we couldn't find a certain type of item, they quickly led us right to it and explained the different types they had in stock.

I plan to return here every time I need to browse antique hardware, and I suggest you do the same.

Was just chewed up and spit out by angry man (employee? owner?) who approached my car in parking space out front. Um, back up off me, sir.

I just popped in for two minutes to see if they had any MCM furniture. They didn't, so I left. Apparently it ruffled his feathers that I "just came in and came out," and that my front bumper was "knocking over" one of his plastic cones. (Cone was perfectly fine and upright when I pulled out.) I visited nearly every other antique shop on the street, all staff very nice; you should check out those places instead. Because a man with anger issues running up to your car is an exhausting experience.

In need of an antique drawer pull for a newly acquired buffet (from just around the corner!), we decided to hit up Eugenia's. To be honest, I expected yet another cluttered, crowded antique store where I can never find what I need, like many of the stores on Chamblee antique row. But nope, even though this place smells like Grandma's house, it is HEAVEN for antique-loving Type A personalities. In need of antique doorknobs? There's a whole row neatly organized by type. Need replacement towel bars? great, there's an entire wall in a variety of colors. Or need a drawer pull if your newly acquired cabinet is missing one? Find a new one here - organized by type and by hole width (seriously amazing). Lance was super friendly guy and helped us find just what we needed in an instant. I expected to scrounge around for an hour; instead, we were out the door in less than 15 minutes with what we needed in hand.

Sure, you can go to Anthro and Restoration Hardware to get this look, but you can get the real thing at a great place at Eugenia's, all while shopping local.

      First to Review

After browsing through My Favorite Place (yes, it is also my favorite place) for some knick-knacks and goodies, I asked one of the owners if they had any antique keys. They tipped me off to Eugenia's Antique Hardware, just up the road in Chamblee's Antique District.

What a place! While I have no use (or money) for most of the items in the store, the store is incredibly cool. Full of old, ornate, and interesting doorknobs, handles, hinges....you name it, they got it! They had a spinning rack full of keys, including brass, steel, flat, and skeleton keys! I picked out a few (ranging from $3 for a few flat keys to $12 for a more ornate brass key) and am super stoked to make some cool jewelry from them!

Definitely worth a look around for some inspiration, or if you need old hardware! Or maybe if you are building a steampunk robot....
