      ETC in Ellijay and north of Ellijay seems to really work hard to improve and maintain excellent communication solutions for remote areas of North GA. I am an IT engineer and have been in the communication industry many years in suburban Atlanta. ETC offers very good service and solutions and has even improved its performance without cost increase in my areas just recently. That is not always passed along to the customer. The service in clearing lines and repairs is also very good in a difficult area. It is appreciated.

      The only reason ETC is receiving 2stars is the helpful info given to us by the office staff and the technician that came to install. As to actual business they are ridiculously priced nickle an dime to death. No real special to get your business! Then there's 10 different install charges. They gave us a remote that is a dinosaur the old chunky 10 button device dvd,vhs, aux, ect.. no instructions and if you need to stream then you best have another remote for your tv to switch between! There is no simple way to say this but at the price they charge they could take the time to update their devices! I wake at 430 to no tv can't connect to anything! Whatever was done disabled the remote on my as well! Very disappointed! Should have gone to dish!

      Not the fastest but definitely the fastest around here. Very hopeful they are committed to increasing speeds in the future as we all pay bills similar to people getting gig speeds in other areas. That part kinda sucks for the consumer.

      That being said, they just raised my 80/8 to 150/10 for no charge, not sure what promoted this, but i'm very happy about it since speed is the #1 issue with this provider. This act has made me see they do care about their customers and are actively trying to please. I hope they continue forward with this mentality and improve their infrastructure to better serve us all. Thanks ETC!

      Oh yeah and install was done a day after I ordered service. Way better than Xfinity (even though X has wayyyy more techs in the field).

      This is, by far, the worst internet service I've experienced. It's slightly better than satellite (at least we don't run out of data), and slightly faster than dial up, that's about it. I'm running DSL (DSL? What is this, 2000?) at .5MPBS. That's not fast enough to stream a decent movie. Forget about working from home. I'm a designer and copywriter and I have to use my phone for most uploads.

      I can't understand how this company is allowed to run a monopoly in this town? Someone has to call somebody and get them investigated. In our community (blackberry mountain) they want to charge us, the residents, $441,000 to drag lines from Rivers Edge into our community, and then charge $80 a month for fiber service. Let that sink in. They want us to pay for the expense of their expansion and then pay a monthly fee on top of that. How is that even legal? We completely absorb their risk in expanding and then get the privilege of paying them a monthly fee on top of that. All so we can have what the community next to me, literally 1000 feet away, has.

      Someone needs to break this company, take away all of their lines, and get Verizon and AT&T to take over. Verizon Fios is stunningly fast. This Ellijay outfit is a joke and a disgrace. They're a monopoly and are doing exactly what monopolies do in areas like this.

      SHUT THEM DOWN!!!

      On a sunny Saturday in the south during college football season you better have reliable TV connection or customers are going to be unhappy. I have missed more of my game than I have gotten to see because of your connection issues; no bad weather, no excuse for it. Just poor service.

      Wow! Big thank you to Adam Dale at the Ellijay office who provided outstanding customer service. Our internet was down and Dale jumped into his vehicle and arrived at our cabin without even needing an appointment. An hour later with these experts and we are up and running!

      Wifi was installed within the week, prices aren't outrageous, friendly staff, the payments are set up & really convenient. I recommend them!

      ETC...oh where to begin...

      Possibly the worst internet i have ever had the misfortune of connecting to...and I lived in Savannah for 5 years and had to deal with comcast...which i was more than certain was the lowest of the low in internet quality....

      From constant drop outs in connection, to the cold winter day molasses connection strength...as i type this, i am watching a speed-test of my connection, and it is sitting at a whopping .52-MB (POINT FIVE TWO!!!) Not even a mega-byte!!!...which....no matter how you look at it, is disgustingly pitiful, considering the price per month which is paid...

      All in all, i'm glad internet is available, but ETC, get it together...you're killing me...

      We have had business services with them (and home service) for over 10 years. While we could save a little money going through someone else, the level of customer service---and the speed by which they respond is worth a few dollars a month.
