      After a referral from our contractor, I reached out to Erik for a policy for our family vacation home less than 24 hours ago. His assistance has been beyond prompt and professional. We are in the next steps with State Farm and I couldn't be happier. If you are looking for a great agent in the South Lake Tahoe area... I highly recommend giving Erik a call!

      Whoa! Can we say "EGO?!"

      Having recently bought a new home, I was looking for quotes on bundling this with my, already existing, multi-car policy. That's a good thing ,right? ? Could've fooled me...

      Not only was I quoted unbelievable rates, every question I asked resulted in a pathetic attempt to UPSELL my current policy! Really?

      Unhappy with the blatant display of arrogance before me, not to mention the unreasonable, random increase of prices-- I decided to get quotes from other brokers within the company.

      SURPRISE! 2 out of 3 agents I spoke to couldn't understand Erik Watada's logic, fee chart & immediately was able to save me $200. Amazed how one can be angry AND happy at the same .

      Thumbs down, Man!

      My advice: Do your homework.
      It will save you $$$

      Erik and his staff have been always been friendly, fair, and very responsive. My wife and I have 4 auto insurance policies (anyone wanna buy a car?), renter's insurance, and insurance for my wife's engagement ring through Erik's office. We've never had any problems. As a real estate agent, I can confidently say that Erik is well known for doing good business here in Tahoe.

      I am surprised to see the review Erik got. I had the opposite experience. I have my combined policy with Erik for a few years. Recently, I needed to add another policy. He went above and beyond to make sure I got the exact coverage that I needed, which included many emails, many requests for additional information, and working at night to provide quotes in order for me to close escrow. He did all this and saved me a lot of money. The final policy turned out to be inexpensive even though at the start I was willing to pay for a more expensive policy with coverage I did not need.
      Erik is straight forward and to the point. And he knows his insurance business and treated me fairly. Quotes come from State Farm itself, I don't think agents can quote any rate they wish.
      Anyway, I just think if you are looking for insurance you should get multiple quotes, but do give Erik a chance as well.

      I had State Farm in California but had to switch agents when I moved to the Nevada side where I picked Erik Watada randomly. I didn't have any problems while I had my insurance with him, but decided to switch insurance companies anyways for a better rate. I contacted his office to cancel my insurance but he never did, so I started getting non-payment bills. After another attempt contacting his office which didn't do any good, I had to contact State Farm corporate offices directly to resolve the issue. I got the impression his customer service only goes as far as making them money.
