I recently made the trip down to Kentucky to visit family and attend the Kentucky Derby. Last minute my friend and I decided we wanted to rent a car for a couple days. Literally, we had an hour layover in Charlotte and I called to make a reservation. I spoke with a rep from a different location, but she was very helpful. I even wanted to drop the car off at a different location and get driven to the greyhound bus station to catch our bus to Louisville. She told me all the extra fees that came along with my needs, which I was fine with. We did ask for quite a bit.
Then when we arrived at Lex Airport I told them I made a reservation and she gave me a completely different price. I explained the fees and the amount that I discussed with the previous agent. After I explained the first time they lowered the price to what I was originally told by removing one of the fees that I was already aware of. So I am not to sure where the price change occurred, but in the end I was happy.
It did take a while to actually get the car, and there were not that many people being helped at this point.

For Sioux Falls SD Airport Enterprise
Loyal premium member of Enterprise Rental Car for the last 3 years, and cannot believe how terrible the service is at Sioux Falls Airport.
Pick up was fine, but returning the car found no service. The closest I found was a guy that might have been Enterprise in the lot that simply said to park in the middle two rows. No other contact, no one at the counter in the terminal, even after waiting several minutes (had to check in for a flight).
No receipt and when I called, guess what, according to the company, I had not turned the car in. And, unlike EVERY other rental, I have to wait 3-5 business days for the receipt.

This Enterprise location handled the exchange of the rental we drove from Maryland wonderfully. They had us in and out of there in about 10 minutes. They were very professional and understood that the vehicle we had been driving was notorious for problems and gave us a Jeep Cherokee to drive safely back to Maryland. I would absolutely go to this location again.

After my contact with Enterprise customer support, my Yelp review, and my BBB complaint, Jerrica the branch manager personally reached out, apologized, and refunded the amount I requested: the extra I had to pay to rent last-minute from AVIS. I contacted the customer service email as requested, gave all the details including a copy/paste and link to this review, was told the management of this Enterprise branch would reach out and they never did. Today my bill for $653.97 was finalized from AVIS when I was supposed to pay $459.71 to Enterprise. With expenses going up everywhere in our lives, it's such a shame to have this happen when I was pinching my pennies to bring my children to meet their great grandmother for the first time. I know things happen, but it felt like no one cared and I was taken advantage of in an impossible situation when we were stranded at the airport. No one from Enterprise was there, and AVIS smiled and said, "Well we still have cars!" This just did not feel right at all, and I still can't believe the reservation with my credit card already attached to it doesn't mean a thing.
ORIGINAL REVIEW
I made a reservation over a month in advance for a trip to visit my grandmother who I hadn't seen in over 2 years because of COVID. I brought her small great grandchildren, one of whom she never met. I got to the desk, and they were closed early I find out because they were out of cars. I was sent to National. They, too, had no car, and sent me to AVIS. They do have a car but want to charge me over $700 for a car I originally reserved for half that price. So I was gouged while trying to get two sleep-deprived young children to our Airbnb.
I contact their customer support that night (closed) and again this morning to be told they can't guarantee their cars and things happen, and it's up to me to approach the desk when I get back to see if they'll compensate me after I had to pay 50% more, but that they are not required to do this, so I can imagine this will be a terribly uncomfortable conversation leading to nothing but an apology.
I've used Enterprise for years around the country, but I'm done. Money is tight for everyone, and we used Enterprise to save money during a very important trip to see a family member, and I was then forced to pay more than we budgeted or be stranded with two small kids and no car. I know stuff happens, but surely some better plan could have been put in place to help those affected by a lack of cars, and surely reservations should actually mean something -- though I did read the Enterprise fine print this morning, and they don't. We recently flew into Cinci/Kentucky airport and everything went smooth renting the vehicle that we requested online. Sam was the rep that helped us and he even took the extra effort to find a pair of glasses that we had left in the vehicle after returning and sent them to our home address.

If you are ever in the Lexington Kentucky area especially the airport absolutely use Enterprise I've never been to an airport where was so easy so convenient to get a car clean fast unbelievable service

I arrived late after flight delays. Customer service was excellent. My reservation was ready when I got there with a complimentary upgrade. Customer service agents answered my questions quickly and were knowledgeable about the area and my reservation. I always book with enterprise when available for my business trips. I lost my keys once and service was exemplary. Thanks enterprise!

Kasey at the enterprise desk in the Lexington airport is fantastic! My 11pm flight was delayed and I knew they closed at midnight so I was nervous I'd be stuck overnight at the airport on one of the coldest days of the year. I called her and she said she'd stay til one. My flight was again delayed on the tarmac and I was panicking thinking about having to choose between retrieving my bag(which had to be gate checked as it was a tiny regional plane) and getting to the counter before she had to leave at one. Imagine my relief when I landed and saw kasey had texted me that she saw my flight was delayed and she was moving to a different counter that stayed open later!

Wouldn't take a "debit" card, only "credit" but they charged my debit card multiple 4+ times for a rental I didn't even get anyway... now I have to wait 5+ days to get money back...

I don't blame them.
Awhile back, I got a flat on the outskirts of Berea while driving on I-75. It was 7 PM on a Friday night...and wouldn't you know, the Lexington airport was the closest location that was still open.
That strikes me as crazy...it's Friday night! Berea is like 45 minutes away! There are no other locations open???!
I digress.
It was raining like mad. It was Parents Weekend at UK. Keeneland had something going on. There was some car show somewhere. In other words, Lexington was busting at the seams. They didn't have any more rental cars in my class, so they had to bump me up...to a flaming red Kia Soll.
They don't bother to come out with you to inspect the car, like a previous reviewer wrote. So we had to go out ourselves and transfer my stuff to the other car, come back in to drop off the first car's keys, go back out about to leave, only to come back with a damage report because after being in rental cars for so long and knowing how shady some branches are, I know these things better get written down...all in the while, the boyfriend is "complaining" to the counter girl about placing me in a Soll. It got way embarrassing after a bit. I mean, it's butt ugly, but it's not like they had a Ferrari around the corner.
We finally were ready to go. I get in and we realize the seat pump is broken...and there is absolutely no way that I can see over the dash. OMG. I made my boyfriend tell the counter girl because after all of that bothering he did, we really did need a different car. She had been apathetic during everything previously, but you know, if I had customers like this, I'd be a little annoyed.
He was much more pleased with the Rogue. I was just glad to get out of there.
