En Fuego Grill located in the Kapolei Shopping Center across from Koa Pancake House. Lots of free parking in a private parking lot. They've trimmed down from a Take Out / Dine In Restaurant to a Take Out only Restaurant. Staff are friendly and quick. They've recently expanded to serve Okazu-ya in the mornings from 6am. Showcases replaced the front counter displaying a good assortment of Japanese Deli favorites. Lunch and Dinner menu entrees are still the favorites.

They have really good food, however today was a slight disappointment.
The order: Ahi Katsu and Garlic Chicken Combo with 1 scoop brown (mommy/Kenzo), 1 scoop white (daddy), Mac Salad and a Side Garden Salad.
The Ahi Katsu was a fat piece, but the interior was a tad overdone and dry. The creamy Asian sauce help add some moistness.
They usual star garlic chicken had its typical awesomely sweet and slightly garlic flavor, however the chicken came out cold. There was still crunch, but some chicken a tad hard. Probably cooked way earlier and just been sitting.
Which was surprising as it did take a good 10-15 min for food to come out, in which only the ahi katsu being cooked fresh.
I am a fan of their Mac, nice and creamy flavor with a touch of pepper.
They got rid of the inside seating area since I last came here, however there are a few tables outside.
Still a fan of their food and will be back when on this side of island, just not on their game today.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - Jan 17, 2024Updated review
Well, sadly, I didn't look at any of the other reviews when I came back to this restaurant. Unfortunately, it looks like they did not come back from Covid very well. With the outdoor seating and everything to go, I just wasn't the same for me. Food was average, so looks like this might be my last visit.

Inexpensive or fair prices, basically no service but that's fine as it is extremely casual. People are friendly and give you healthy portions of food. I have eaten here maybe five times and it is my go to stop. Loco Moco, fresh Ahi, the porkchops are extremely thin but flavorful. I love the garlic fried chicken and it comes with a teriyaki sauce for dipping.

Finally Kapolei has an okazuya that opens early at 6 AM. I remember En Fuego used to be a sit down restaurant where we could enjoy Hawaiian food and local plate lunches, especially their garlic chicken. I'm not sure if they still offer that kind of menu. I saw the signs on the road promoting their new okazuya hours and I was very eager to see what's being offered. My husband and I made it there on a Monday morning around 10 AM and we saw the food in the glass case and under warmers. Pretty much what you get at other okazuyas is being offered at En Fuego's. One unique thing on their menu is butterfish fried rice. If you are a fan of butterfish, their fried rice is just for you. It has a sweet flavor to it. The fried chicken is delicious. The hamburger patty and egg omelet was okay and the fried noodles tasted a little bland, could've had a bit more salt added. Spam musubi was pretty standard; the spam was just fried and not marinated in sauce. There's a bottle of chili pepper water you can pour into a small portion cup with a lid to take to go. It was a good dipping sauce for all the food we ate. I already told my husband he's going to be coming here a lot to get me lunch.

En Fuego Grill is a true Kapolei gem, capturing the essence of local flavors in a fast casual setting. From its inviting ambiance to its mouthwatering menu, this is a place where you can savor the true taste of Hawaii without sacrificing convenience or breaking the bank. So, whether you're a local looking for a satisfying meal or a visitor eager to experience the flavors of Oahu's west side, En Fuego Grill is a must-visit destination that won't disappoint.
Let's start with my personal favorite: the seared garlic ahi. This dish captures the true essence of Hawaiian cuisine, showcasing the freshest Ahi tuna sourced from our pristine waters. Whether you prefer it seared or grilled, the result is a tender and succulent masterpiece. What sets it apart is the enticing touch of their house-infused garlic oil, enhancing each bite with a burst of robust flavor. Accompanied by their homemade soy vinaigrette, this dish strikes a harmonious balance of savory and tangy notes. The choice between mac salad or a vibrant green salad, along with white or brown rice, adds a delightful touch of customization. And let's not forget to mention their heavenly dressing--it's so good that sometimes I find myself opting for an all-toss salad, just to savor every last drop.
If you're in the mood for something with a kick, the Spicy Garlic Chicken will light up your taste buds. Tender slices of chicken, expertly fried to a delectable crisp, are generously coated in En Fuego Grill's homemade Hawaiian garlic sauce. Infused with hot peppers, it delivers a tantalizing spicy punch that lingers on the palate.
For those who simply can't decide, En Fuego Grill offers a combo plate that showcases the best of both worlds. By combining the seared garlic ahi with the fiery garlic chicken, they create a symphony of flavors that will leave you wanting more.
Beyond the enchanting flavors, En Fuego Grill has become a go-to choice for catering needs. When my mom hosts parties, she swears by their catering services. From delectable pupus to mouthwatering entrees, their offerings are a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.Helpful 26Thanks 4Love this 24Oh no 0 - Mike C.HI, HI014Apr 4, 2024
I ate there last week. Saw a small sign in my way back from Honsador. Chance'm! Was very good. Combo plate: pastele stew, garlic chick. Going price, around 16 bucks. I would definitely go again if in area. Food came out pretty quick. Many people coming & going. Highly recommend!!

My go-to-place to cater for my family and Kairos House of Whorship events. I love this place for their food. Quality of the food is great and price is not too bad. Great place to cater food for your events and they also have great plate lunch selection with good portions. Best in the west side in my book. Wish they could go back to their regular hours till 8 p.m.

They serve up some huge portions since it's a little on the higher end as far as the prices goes. I love that they also have brown rice. I ordered the ahi Katsu and the garlic chicken combo special with brown rice and Mac salad. I was very happy with my choice. My food was cooked perfectly and it was delicious. Will definitely be back when I'm craving garlic chicken.

Saw a new-to-me restaurant and thought I'd check it out. Wasn't sure what kind of food they serve, and thought maybe this was a latino specialty meat restaurant based off their name "En Fuego." Boy, was I wrong lol. This restaurant offers more of local entrees, including some Hawaiian and seafood. The following items were ordered:
1. Pastele Stew & Garlic Chicken. The pastele stew had an overbearing olive taste, like they dumped a can of olive juice right into the stew. There were chopped up small meat pieces throughout, but the stew itself did not have that nice hearty meat flavor taste. Garlic chicken on the other hand was excellent! It was coated with a sweet yet strong garlic flavored sauce. The chicken meat itself was cooked to perfection, and the chicken skin appeared to be double fried. Brown rice was dry.
2. Grilled Poke & Garlic Chicken. The grilled poke had a very strong soy sauce taste. Too strong imo as you would need to eat a good amount of rice to offset the saltiness. Garlic chicken and white rice was on point!
3. Fresh Shichimi Seared Ahi Salad. I really wanted to love this salad, but my fish wasn't fresh. Besides the seared sides, the inside of my fish was raw (not an issue for me) and mushy and had a fishy taste. No bueno, No bueno! On a positive note, the greens were fresh, and the homemade Hawaiian sweet chili dressing was delicious. In fact, the dressing was the highlight of my entree.
The restaurant itself appeared clean. Keep in mind there is no seating inside, but there are a few uncovered tables outside. Some of the chairs were secured with a lock to their table, which makes me think they've had issues with thievery. The cashier was cordial, but his appearance was unprofessional due to the hickeys visible on his neck.
This restaurant has a really good menu selection of local favorites, and pricing is reasonable. I hope they make improvements to the quality control of their food.
Bottom Line: I would tread carefully with any entree that has partially raw seafood (i.e. seared ahi). Avoid the pastele stew unless you like olives A LOT. Get the garlic fried chicken! And hickeys below the collar, not above xDHelpful 12Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0
