Went to the spa with my maid of honor to get a facial and pedicure the week prior to my wedding. Just the day before, I had gone to another spa for a body treatment. I have to say that Red Door was below my expectations.

The robes were not as nice and comfortable as the spa I had been to the previous day. They do not serve you any tea and their "relaxation" area was a total mess. Trash and glasses left on tables and blankets just thrown around and not refolded.

My facial was nice but the "extractions" that you pay for are not done with a tool and I did not notice a difference in my face. When I left the facial, I felt sweaty and there was masque left all over my face and some on my hair.

The pedicure went okay but it is in a very busy area, the more retail section of the "spa".

For the price of these spa treatments vs. service, I would much rather go back to the other spa and recommend it over Red Door.

      Entry stairway
Messy "relaxation room". It was messy throughout the day.

Checking in: when they checked me in, they offered cucumber infused water which was very refreshing on a hot summer day. The spa is clean and well-maintained. The pedicure area is divided with curtains so you don't have other customers staring at you.

Booking:when I booked the pedicure appointments for my friend and I, I called once to see if they had availability and then another time to book them after confirming with my friend. The two receptionist I talked to provided very inconsistent information about their cancellation policy, and when I brought that to their attention, one of the girls was very rude and unapologetic.

The pedicure: it was so rushed. Agnes rushed me to get into a seat while I was trying to pick a nail color. The massage was ok, but very short-lived. The scrub was very good. While Agnes offered me a hot neck/shoulder treatment, the same was not offered to my friend. Again with the inconsistency. Also the room was sooo hot, so having my feet in warm water with a hot pillow around my neck did not feel great.

Will I come back? Definitely not, I've had much better pedicures elsewhere

Pretty floors. While we were provided with slippers, we were not offered to sit somewhere for our feet to dry

I was expecting better from what Red Door Spa treatment in terms of perfection in environment.

The escape manicure. Wonderful and she was very careful!
The essential Pedicure. Just as wonderful.
The little things like the heated shoulder wrap give a wonderful feel.

Stepping into the red door salon from the real world couldn't be a bigger difference than stepping off the train into West world. Everything to greet your eyes, ears and nose are there to calm you From the nicely appointed changing areas to the relaxation room the first stage of the experience is well thought out and relaxing. My masseuse was name Stacy and she was a tiny little thing. I was afraid there is no way she is going to be able to dig into my manly muscles. Much to my delight I was wrong. She did an amazing job and I would highly recommend her to any person receiving treatment here. I say treatment in its truest since of the word. From the start you are treated to complimentary glasses of cucumber or lemon water. After changing into robes and slippers you are taken to a relaxation room with gravity chairs to wait for your masseuse.
The therapy room was nicely appointed with low lighting and soothing music.
The only reason I am not giving them a 5 star rating is because they didn't have robes and slippers in this mans size. But that is a small detail.

The service at Red Door is always spectacular. So I wasn't surprise to have 2 great experiences at this location. I have now been to 4 of the locations in the DMV area, this one might be my preferred location. For a few key reasons:

      1. There is plenty of free parking
      2. The location is pretty large with a beautiful waiting room
      3. There are always available appts
      4. Check-in to get 10% off your bill

Go ahead and give it a try.

There are plenty of other spas in the area. This one isn't worth your time. Read below to see my email to customer service (which received no response)

I am quite a fan of Red Door spas. I have gone to a few locations. And when it came time for my friends to visit me from out of town, I chose the Red Door Spa at Pike and Rose in North Bethesda because I trusted that it would be a great experience.

We checked into the spa and were walked to the locker room. The robes were unusually thin, and short sleeved. About half of the lockers were out of order. There were very minimal amenities in the locker room, which weren't that big of a deal. What was interesting is, no one asked us to fill out forms. There were merely clipboards left on tables in the relaxation area, and we assumed we needed to fill them in. The hot water dispenser for tea only dispensed lukewarm water.

The biggest disappointment was the actual relaxation room itself. The temperature of the room must have been about 62 degrees, and with the draft from outside (large, barely covered windows), the thin robes, thin blankets, and cold leather recliners, it was nearly impossible to relax. When I walked in with my 4 friends, we saw an elderly man sleeping (in his street clothes), and one of his coats was taking up another chair, leaving less than enough chairs for our group to sit in. It didn't seem as though this man had any treatments done (he would surely be in a robe if that was the case). As it turns out, 20 min later his wife completed a hair treatment and came to pick him up from his nap. I am unsure of why he was there. In my experience with ALL spas, only paying clients are able to use the spa facilities, and usually- you need to book a spa appointment (not salon appointment) to be allowed into the spa facilities.

The saving grace was the actual massage itself, which was wonderful. However, when I returned to the relaxation area, I expected to see my friends relaxed and lounging. Instead, I found them sitting up tensely, as a middle aged man who was in his street clothes was typing away on his laptop. I don't understand why this man, fully clothed, was allowed in the relaxation area- and even more so, why he was allowed to be working on a laptop. There was a waiting area in the reception area of the salon- he should have been in there, or the lobby of the connecting hotel.

What was supposed to be a relaxing day was tense and cold and awkward. This was the first "annual" trip for my group of friends, and we were really excited to be able to go to a spa together. We all left very disappointed, and wishing that we had chosen a different spa.

There are plenty of spas in the metro DC area. I expected a lot more from Red Door Spa.

      Quite disappointed!
I booked 2 massages appointments for me and my girlfriend for her birthday.
I received a confirmation in my account for 1 pm with so and so(female and male)
When we came only my girlfriend went to the her massage.i waited and waited and waited.
When I went to the front desk and ask where is my massages therapist they said but you booked for 1 pm and 2 pm.
Me"I booked two appoint for me and my girlfriend both for 1 pm and I remembered doing it twice for the same time so we can be together "
The front desk girl didn't even say sorry"she said you can not book for 2 people at the same time online.you should call"
Me"so if I want to book for a 2..3..girlfriends online I can not???"
      She said"no"
Me"but I have confirmation number for 1 pm for 2 appointments with 2 different people"
She looked at me and didn't say a word.
So I had to wait for my girlfriend.
      Disappointed

I had an excellent essential massage with Tawana at Red Door Pike and Rose today. I had been wanting to try a professional massage for a very long time (over a year) but was skeptical of all of the local massage spas in the Rockville area due to reviews. I tried scheduling a massage somewhere elsewhere on the Pike and they didn't even answer the phone and were rude upon walk in. This was not the case here.

This location had mixed reviews but I selected Tawana after reading great reviews about her on Yelp. My boyfriend scheduled the appointment for me over the phone but you can also book online and select who you want. The front desk staff were very welcoming, courteous, and helpful upon arrival and departure.

The massage was AMAZING! I have had a lot of tension in my shoulder lately and whatever techniques Tawana used today really helped relieve a lot of stress in my shoulders and back. It was a full body massage and she explained what she was doing throughout the entire process. Other reviews on here mentioned the rooms weren't soundproof and you could hear sounds from other room but I didn't hear anything at all besides the music playing. Maybe it's because I went on a weekday after work? Not sure, but it was SO relaxing, I can't even explain. I didn't even want to drive home after the massage because I was sooo relaxed and basically walking on air afterward.

The salon itself is beautiful and I think the prices are worth it for the services provided. The changing room and waiting areas were clean and quiet. I can't wait to get my next massage or other service here! An added bonus- it's connected to the Canopy Hotel which I love and could add an extra layer of fun if you were planning to make a day of it.

I went there with my two sisters as a girls day out. We booked for a facial each as well as a pedicure.
Walking up, we were greeted at the front desk and were taken back to the locker room with our complimentary drinks. Inside, we took off our clothes and wore a robe and slippers that were provided for us. The bathroom was gorgeous and well kept.

One of my sisters arrived late and so we were all waiting in the locker room for her when a lady burst in and yelled at us to hurry up because our facial appointments had started. That sort of set the wrong mood and my impression of the staff here. Yes I understand that we were late and that was on us, but it was the way she yelled at us from the hallways all the way to the locker room seemed unnecessary.

After I met the lady doing my facial, we talked a bit and the facial itself was pretty ok. Nothing special but then again I've only done two facials in my life and the other was done in vegas. My face felt oily after from the creams she put and even though my face felt clean it didn't seem like it was any different than if I had just washed my face with my cleanser. The one thing I did like was she tried to remove most of my blackheads on my nose.

Going to the pedicure was what saved this review. I loved the ladies who did our pedicure. Coming from a Vietnamese family, we do get along better with other Viet workers. However my lady was Thai and she was just the sweetest. She was funny and my toes lasted over a month. One of the ladies doing my sister was actually my classmates mom which was definitely a conversation. They lit up the mood and we all got along really well.

If you want to get your mani and pedi there, the women who work there are extremely lovely. The facial was nice but I don't think it was worth the money. Try at your own risk!

It's not just that I lost my job. It's that I lost my crew, my family of amazing technicians, administrators, spa tenders that were my friend and family for the last 10 years of my life. I sure gonna missed seeing my awesome guests walk in to get there services in what it use to be my home...
