3.5 stars but not bad for a chain i'll give it that... or we just got really lucky ;)
Mmm Mmm Mmm they're drinks are taaaasstttyyyy.
Jonathan and I came here to get some calories in our system so we can walk it off in the mall for a good amount of time.
Started off with the drinks after being quickly seated in the bar area rather than the bigger, noisier area (Thank goodness). Our waiter was very helpful and friendly so that helped with our experience some have lacked.
I had to look up the dishes that we consumed here and remembered that we thought the artichoke dip was a little too salty and he loved his drink but i can't remember the name of it and i couldn't remember mine's -_-* oh well... maybe next time.
Overall the food was pretty good for a chain restaurant and the drinks washed everything down very well. I'm just glad this place wasn't as chaotic as it usually is seeing that I've been to this restaurant before but not at this location. Jonathan treated to the meal and small shopping spree that stemmed afterwards to burn off the calories since it was a few days before I had to come back to Oregon. He tends to do that when I'm home. (yes I'm spoiled but if you knew me I'm not one of those girls that dries up his wallet otherwise we wouldn't be together :P)
Anywho, as long as it's not hell in there it's a good place :)
Food is decent, but I can't say the same for the service. Actually, our waitress was fine, even smiley and happy to be serving our group of 8. The hostess was another story.
First she wouldn't seat us until our whole group was there. Fine, I get that. Then when we were all there, so told me it'll just be a few minutes while they get the table ready. Minutes pass, then 10, 15 minutes. Seeing that the hostess was just standing there and talking to another employee rather than giving me any word about what was taking so long, I went up to her and politely asked if our table was ready yet. "We're just waiting for your waitress." Well, that would have been nice to know 10 minutes ago! And she said in a "oh well" type of tone rather than apologetic for making us wait longer than expected. Then we still waited another 5-10 minutes after that.
Although the service is off, this place always seems busy. If you want to take a chance with the service, come for an early dinner/late lunch.
I went here with a really good friend of mine and it felt just like old times when we used to just hang out at the bar and have drinks after work. It never gets packed (at least when we go) so we never have to wait for a seat. I ordered the Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi with brown rice and she ordered the chicken salad. We were too busy talking and trying to catch up while I was gone that we barely even touched our food!
Later on, she found a strand of hair in her salad (Gross! I'm sure this happened at least once to all of us) and it's so gross when you do! You kind of loose your appetite so we kindly waived our server and told her about it. She instantly took her plate and apologized and 5 minutes later the manager (I'm assuming) came out and apologized to her and offered to give her any appetizer or soup on him but she just wanted her salad so she said no.
Our server (I forgot her name but she is the sweetest girl) would constantly check if we were ok and if her salad were good =P My food was okay, nothing too special. I think they extended their happy hour till 9pm
ever since I learned that you can sit in a bar area even when there is an hour-long wait, I've been wondering WHY DON'T people do that?! oh well....totally love their happy hours.....really life the staff......sweet potato fries are YUMMY! so is Santa Barbara burger....and all the salads)
Friendly decor...nice crowd
This place was actually pretty cool. There were so many choices and it was really hard to choose what to eat. They have a mix between American and Asian style foods. Garren and I both got drinks: Blue moon beer (w/ and orange) and a long island ice tea. Man, my long island ice tea was yummy and strong. I got a pretty good buzz from just that one.
For a late lunch, Garren got a blackened ahi sandwich, which was soooo delicious. I got pad thai with shrimp and chicken, so I could try both. I thought that this was really good, but it would have been better with only shrimp and spicy. What I really liked about the service was that they provided Sriracha chili sauce. Also, the waitress was super helpful and friendly.
From what I saw at other tables, other dishes had very large servings, which seems appealing. I really want to try some other new things next time. A good, but bad thing about here is that happy hour does not start until 9 on the weekends. I really wanted to have some cheap, good, drinks at 3! Oh well.
Anyway, I would definitely go back back!
"Meet me at the E bar".
Sure, ok I can be there in less than 8 minutes.
So I thought.
After sitting at a table for 45 minutes I get an email from my lunch companion asking me where I am. "I'm sitting along the windows, you know where you can see all the airplanes land?" I am then told that there is no way that I can see the airplanes land and that I am probably at the wrong E Bar.
Umm yeah, I walked into the Burlingame location and should have been at the Daly City one. I felt dumb for sitting at a table for 45 minutes drinking water so i left a $5.00 tip and zipped outta there heading for Daly City.
This was my first visit to this particular location and I walked away more impressed by this one verses the one in Bgame. The server was beyond friendly and let me order my BLT which is "off the menu" item. She brought me a side of extra bacon and made sure my water glass was always filled.
Dessert on the house? SCORE!
I have been here twice now and left very satisfied both times. Their calamari is excellent they serve it with these white crunchy things that are fantastic + 2 dipping sauces. They had Sam Adams Oktoberfest on tap which was a good complement to the french dip i got not the biggest sandwich but they put a cheddar/jack cheese mix on it..
My friend got the shrimp spaghetti thing and devoured it
We also got 2 shots of Patrone the bartender didnt want to take my tips!!
great overall service.
The only reason im not giving this a 5 is location.. mall parking lot...?
Foodwise, this E Bar is your average E Bar. The only difference is that there are HELLA Filipinos and crazy drivers in the parking lot of Serramonte (go figure).
If you're in the mall and want a burger, I'd say go here instead of the McDonald's across the street... Otherwise, spend your money elsewhere.
My boyfriend and I decided to eat here because I was craving a "gourmet" burger, and my mom SHUNNED the food from the Daly City Filipino American Festival just around the corner behind Target.
The food was so-so. I ordered the blue cheese burger, while he ordered the ribs. Sweet potato fries are always a win, and probably the only thing keeping me from giving this review just 1 star...
What I wanted to write about was the service. Now, our server was decent, but what appalled me was the server at the booth next to ours. She kept hovering over these two ladies like a hawk, asking if they were done with their food, at least TWICE when they obviously still had food on their plates! I could even tell that the ladies felt rushed, EVEN I FELT RUSHED WATCHING! Poor ladies. Their server then explained that she was about to go on her break, so she needed to close out.
Regardless. Be patient, don't rush. RUDE.
Had to run some errands in the area so we stopped by to grab linner(lunch/dinner) here. We didn't really know what to expect from a chain asian fusion joint. And I have to say, it wasn't all that bad. We both ended up ordering sandwiches....mine was the seared tuna and his was chicken. They were both flavorful, but not too flavorful like some of these places do. The portions weren't overwhelmingly huge, and it came w/a nice spring mix salad on the side. My seared tuna was really easy to eat, and I would order it again!
I want to check out the bar next time because they have seemingly interesting drinks, and apparently late-night happy hours! whooooo!
This Ebar location is ok. instead of a beautiful view of the bay and airport like the ebar in burlingame, we got a beautiful view of my friend buying proactive at the vending machine in the mall and also the girls walking into the women's bathroom.
i feel that the food here just isn't as good as the one in burlingame. I ordered a pina colada but it was much blander than the one in burl. also the brownie desert serving wusnt as generous as burl. definitely i wouldnt come to this ebar location unless i really had to. the food is alright but still cheap
I was so happy when this Elephant Bar opened up at Serramonte, so it saved the long drive to the Burlingame location. Their food is pretty much the same quality as the other location so that's a plus. I still order my E-Bar usuals: The Smokehouse ($6.99, probably my all time favorite sandwich there with grilled chicken fillet, smoked ham, cheddar cheese, fried onion strings, and hickory bbq sauce), The Thai High Chicken Salad, and their Chicken and Shrimp Jambalaya.
But what hurts this place bad is their service. Oh man! It's either I have bad luck or every waiter I had has disappeared on me. That really bites when drink glass is empty. I'll still come here on occasion but it's really a crapshoot for me to get decent service here.
Themey Las Vegas meets predictable Walnut Creek. This is the essence of the Elephant Bar.
Faux fancy with elephant paraphernalia everywhere, the place specializes in bland and mundane dishes. The fish I've had is dry and tasteless, artichoke dip is so-so. Probably the best dishes I've had here are the tempura salmon rolls and burgers. But I can get those elsewhere without having to sit through ear-stabbing minutes of grunge-light ballads. Also, despite the brassy look of the place, I have my doubts as to the cleanliness of the backstage area. My first time here, two of the group returned glasses/silverware due to them being dirty. And of course, there's Tinna H.'s creepy review involving non-food items making their way into two dishes.
So, given the above, plus the fact that I'm not a big fan of malls in general, I just don't see myself going back here. Extra star for courteous wait-staff, and for attracting ridiculous crowds here, thus freeing up other, better restaurants in the area.
Oh Elephant Barf.........how I wish you never ever built a location here so I don't have to feel like I'm attending my own funeral every time I am forced to come here.
They changed their menu recently. Items removed and items added, but nothing GOOD added.
The Baked Onion Soup - Tasted like someone forgot to add broth to the concentrate. It was salt + salt + brown water + onions + WAY too much cheese on top.
The pork pull shoulder sandwich - I'm sorry but this is not supposed to taste like Chinese Char Siu.
I dread going here. Even if someone pays for me, I literally scream in the car the whole ride here because I feel like I'm dying.

I wanted to give this place a 1.5 Star. I nicknamed this place ELEPHANT BARF and I will only go… Read more »
This place has some pretty tasty food. I've had the rack of ribs and the fried shrimp platter here and have been pretty satisfied. The sweet potato fries are primo. The service is good and has been pretty attentive. The good elements of this place are tempered by a few things, however:
One, this place is NOISY. I can't even hear myself think in this place let alone talk to the people I'm eating with.
Two, my wife's margarita was watery. For as much as you pay for a drink in a restaurant these days, the least they can do is to give you a glass with something full strength in it.
These things kind of soured our time at Elephant Bar. I liked the food, but having to deal with the constant din made enjoying our meal difficult. Might be a while before we return.
You know how it takes one bad visit to make your opinion drastically change? Well this is it folks:
Usually, E-bar is hit or miss, usually missing tbh. I tend to choose the Macademia nut crusted Mahi mahi , or their Santa Barbara Burger with Sweet Potato fries and sometimes their calamari or fried shrimp as an appetizer.
Ok, the good things: the appetizers and the sweet potato fries are almost always going to turn out the same. Def a good choice esp if you're coming in for happy hour.
The bad: Came in here the other night for dinner since the location is pretty convenient and ordered the ultimate cheese burger, gf ordered the mahi mahi. Burger was good, but the bread was old. I seriously bet they thought by toasting it they could hide that but man, it was flaky as hell and the taste was off.
Half of the mahi mahi was really good. Usually one of their better items but when my gf touched the 2nd half, she stopped eating. I dont know if it was overcooked or just old because the fish was brown, did not taste that good and was very dry.
Contemplated on going to Cold Stone's for ice cream but it was late and I needed my chocolate fix. Wanted to order the giant cookie with ice cream but guess what, they dont make them anymore! wack.
So I got the brownie with ice cream and the freakin ice cream was freezer burnt. I know I know, I should have sent it back but I was tired, lazy, and the brownie was fine so whatever. I think that was the first time in my life a restaurant has served me bad ice cream. Now that I think about it, I'm moving the 2 stars to 1.
We just went there recently and ordered a stir fry noodle and fry rice and it was horrible. The noodle was bitter and the shrimps were half cooked. The fry rice has no taste. It's seem that they just did it everything in a hurry. The service was excellent because they are eager to sit you down and take your money, serving you bad food.
Elephant Bar... I cant believe I am doing a review on this.... Honestly, the service is always slow and food is either dry or bland.....So i really dont trust anything here but the chicken tenders and fries and happy hour drinks. Thats what keeps me coming back here.
So, why am I doing a review on a place i dont come to often and dont really like? Well.. because I went here with Darryl P.!!! WOOTY WOOT! What can I say, he's a sweetie.. great conversations.. from sports, to relationships, to "dont drink that beer if you dont want it" to Trisha works too much. Even tho our waitress was a little slow, it didnt bother us too much cuz the convo's kept on rollin.
+1 for the fun i had
i've came here a couple of times with my family. I decided to write a review. We all know these restaurants are always a bit pricy... bleckk...
but oh well its how the world is. But the food is actually really good. It fills me up, atleast i can say it was worth getting what i ordered. I like how they bring new drinks to the table without asking you if you need a refill. well atleast my waiters did that. Its a good place for a small party. Anything over 10 will be a little too much. well in my opinion. If you ever shop at serramonte , then maybe you can stop by and check it out.
Eh...this place is ok. I guess when you go in a large group, mistakes are bound to happen. But with 3 waiters/waitresses?
I ordered the Jambalaya with brown rice and the Pineapple Freeze. Yum!!!! I was satisfied with my order but would've liked that they got it right and actually gave my order to me instead of one of my friends. LoL....
We had reservations so our wait time didn't take long. I wouldn't make a special trip all the way here to eat though.
This is my first time back to an Elephant Bar in years! This place hasn't changed too much as far as service and the food. The hostesses were nice and efficient but the waitress was really slow and was almost non-existant. The decore is interesting though and the atmosphere was cool.
I met up with fellow Yelper Trisha C. for drinks yesterday. She was a total sweetheart! She said that she wanted to get me drinks for my belated birthday so how can a guy refuse drinks from such a cutie? We were there for maybe 2 hours and the time flew.
We started with some beer and I also got a couple of Grey Goose tonics. I wasn't hungry at first but after 45 minutes or so I wanted to grab a bite so I ordered the crispy chicken teriyaki with brown rice. It ended coming out with white rice but it wasn't a big deal. It was pretty tasty.
I had a good time and I am enjoying meeting new people through Yelp!
I'm gonna echo many of the other reviews and say that Elephant Bar is nothing to write home about. Mediocre dishes in the $7-16 price range. But what this place does offer is a nice place to grab a bite and catch up with friends. And regardless of the 2-star reviews, they're always packed and if you're not looking to sit at the bar at 7pm, you and your group will have to wait with one of those beeper thingies. My friends and I usually order the artichoke dip with chips, the trunk sampler, the sweet potato fries, and the Philly cheese steak sandwich. Free refills on fountain drinks, and the waiters/waitresses are usually pretty good about asking if you want refills. I've found that you tend to get better service if you sit at the booths in the bar area. They don't neglect you! Food sometimes takes a while to come, and it's noticeable when you're starving.
They have plenty of options: burgers, sandwiches, soups and salads, pastas, Asian fusion, and an extensive drink and dessert menu.
Parking is pretty easy.
If you have to wait for a table, you can always wander around the mall for a while.
Bottom line: the food isn't earth shatteringly good, but I've never had a terrible tasting experience either. It's safe.
PS - They have a new happy hour special that goes from 9PM - closing! So head on over with your friends after the mall closes for some draaaanks. :)
Minus one star for service. We've been here a few times over the years and have held holiday lunch get-togethers with family members because it's large and one member has an electric wheelchair which requires space to manipulate.
Today, hubby wanted to eat here because he has all these EB gift cards to get rid of and I had a $5 off survey coupon they sent me by email. Our meals were good, his pastrami sandwich and fries and my Cobb salad (altho' NOT really Cobb in the true sense) and red pepper soup. We shared an orange cheesecake brulee' which was the sole disappointment. Too many flavors overwhelming the dish. The cheesecake was fine, over an chocolate crust. But, the caramelized crust was too tart, lemony. And surrounding the cake was whipped cream cheese surrounded by raspberry sauce and the whole thing sprinkled with lavendar sugar, $6.95.
Hubby had an EB card which gave us the dessert almost free (max $5) but the manager who rang up the bill ended up charging us for the dessert and it took 25 mins. after the lunch to resolve the problem because they didn't do it right (they tried to refund the amt back onto the gift card when we were trying to get rid of it, instead of crediting the credit card). The waitress kept insisting the bill was calculated correctly until Hubs wrote out the whole addition & subtraction math problem for her. I
In the end, it was resolved, they credited the credit card and gave us ANOTHER gift card for ?? By then, Hubs was so annoyed that he didn't even bother to ask what the heck the EB card was for. This isn't the first time we've had trouble with their gift cards. A prior time we tried to pay the whole bill (including tip) with the card & the waitress told us she wouldn't get her tip from the card! We'll probably be back for the food in the future, but be forwarned, stay away from their gift cards, especially the bait ones which offer a free dessert. It's NOT worth the hassle.
Every time i go, i gotta get the Trunk Sampler!
There's potato skins :D , the cheese bread, chicken wings, & yummy nachos.
It have been a while since dining at this Elephant Bar. First of all, the restaurant was not that crowded and we were still given one of those vibrating beepers and were asked to wait about 10 - 15 minutes. Service started out fine but lost its way after we got our appetizer Seared Ahi Tuna. We asked for chopsticks cuz thats what you eat seared Tuna & dippping sauce with. Then our Entrees came Miso Salmon & crusted Mahi Mahi and still no chopsticks so we asked again. She then walks by us a few minutes later holding a pr of chopsticks about to give it to another party. By this time we practically finished our appetizer and were starting our entrees. It was a mess dipping strips of delicous Ahii Tuna with a big ass fork into a little ass dipping cup. The food was delicous but service didn't have it all together..
OK, I have eaten here several times and never had anything negative to say until now: COCKROACH AT THE BAR!!!! There was a COCKROACH running along the bar while we were waiting for our drinks. I can deal with an occasional Fly here and there, but never a roach.
According to the San Mateo County Environmental Health Department, any number of vermin present in a restaurant is UNACCEPTABLE. If you plan on eating here, please ask for the manager and make sure that their roach problem has been supervised and solved by San Mateo County Health Department.
The only reason you should go to the Elephant Bar is to eat the sweet potatoes fries! They are the only good thing on the menu!
The atmosphere is okay, its like you are in Africa on a safari eating Asian cuisine.
The mixed drinks are a bit overpriced because you are just paying for the sugar, not the alcohol (you can't even taste the alcohol in some mixed drinks).
If you really want Asian food, go to a Japanese, Thai or Chinese restaurant instead of the Elephant Bar where they just introduced brown rice to the menu. Beware if you order the brown rice because the cooks don't know how to make and its horrible!
Just go to the Elephant Bar for the sweet potatoes fries with the spicy dipping sauce!
I loved elephant bar in the past, but my experiences during the past weeks have been horrible. The hostess were nice and friendly, but the service was BAD. Our server got our food and drink orders, but did not give us our drinks until after our food was served. I was eating my meal and feeling very thirsty, but I had to wait to get my drink.
We came here on a weekday night around 8:30-9pm and we let our server know that we understand that they close at 10, so we did not want to keep him longer than he needed to be there. We thought he would give us better service, but instead, he did not check in with us and he did not refill our drinks. Grr!! Food was okay, but it tasted a bit overcooked. I had the appetizer sample and I felt like I was eating fried batter.
I may try Burlingame's ebar since I've had better experience there.
Arrived after a morning driving with sis and a friend. As it was early afternoon expected a crowd so dropped them off in front to get a table or at least on the waiting list while I parked. Luckily found a spot in the lot quickly, and soon after I entered the restaurant, we were seated. I ordered a refillable Minute Maid Lemonade and the Oak-Grilled Idaho Rainbow Trout in Lobster Sauce, marinated in virgin olive oil, garlic, lemon, and rosemary. This was served with fresh sautéed vegetables, lobster sauce and choice of steamed white or brown
rice (I picked brown). We also ordered their great french-fried Sweet Potato Fries, which even tasted better than before, and beats hands-down any sweet potato fries I've ever tasted anywhere... though not mine! ;-) Having tasted their salmon dish quite a few times, I need to say the salmon has much better taste than the trout which tasted just grilled and nothing else. The sauce helped to add some flavor but it was surely lacking. I must say however that there was not one bone in the trout, making me very happy. I would stay with the salmon on future visits and bypass the trout.... Our waitress Tam was on top of everything, very attentive and refilling glasses as necessary without needing to beg/ask, and was very good in general.

I've been to the Elephant Bar up in Daly City a few times and I was not impressed at all. As far as Asian Fusion Cuisine goes, if it is done right, it knocks your socks off. If not, then you have the Elephant Bar experience.
The food was lackluster both times that I went. I had salmon the first time I was there and kept having to ask for water to choke the poor dry fish down my gullet. I felt sorry for the fish by the end of the meal. It gave it's life only to be desecrated by someone who obviously did not know how to prepare seafood.
The second time I went, I played it safe and had some kind of teriyaki chicken that was OK, but failed to really excite my taste buds. The only treat during my second visit was my discovery of the sweet potato fries. I liked them so much that I ordered a second helping.
When you compare the quality of the food to the price it just doesn't add up. I would avoid this restaurant and hope that it falls to the wayside unless they find a way to step it up.
Short and simple.
- Their artichoke dip is great. Their steak is not-so-great.
- Waiter gave me the wrong drink and realized that he did 10 mins later. I was confused 'cause my drink didn't normally taste like that, my bf thought it was the same--my bf obviously doesn't know his drinks especially since he's drank it a million times already.
- They took a lot of stuff off their menu-- I was trying to look for something I ordered in the past, it's long gone.
That's all.
What can you say about a place that is usually in a strip mall or a big mall's parking lot?
Not much. Its like an upscale TGIFridays but that might be giving it too much credit. I dont know... its the place you take your out of town aunt to who's from one of those fly over states and likes TGIFridays.
Hate to be so harsh but....
Ick, I wish I read the reviews first before I came to this place, it would've spared me a truly unforgettable(ly bad) meal. I walked into the restaurant and already had my doubts. The décor was hokey and impossibly naff. If I wanted to eat in a very fake, very pretend jungle, I'd go to Disneyland or something. The place reeked of a not-very-creative restauranteur's boyhood adventure fantasy.
The menu sounded promising, but it was all disappointing. My trout completely lacked any seasoning, and my brown rice was hard and crunchy. My boyfriend was less than pleased with his Mahi Mahi, which also was underseasoned to the extreme. The biggest laugh was the crab cakes; I think "breadcrumb/filler cake with bare hints of crab" would've been a more appropriate name. The only saving grace of this place was that our waitress was very attentive and personable--I was never without a drink and we had all our courses in a timely manner--which the only good thing I can think of about this place. I can't imagine why this place has so much business, unless they get all their patronage from schmucks like the bf and I who didn't bother to Yelp the place first.
If I ever feel a hankering for really mediocre, really tasteless, overpriced food (if you consider the effort and what you're actually getting--$9 for breadcrumbs mashed together?) whilst sitting amongst a lot of fake stuff--the whole place was fake from the fake elephant in the entry way to the fake rotating fans on the ceiling--then maybe I'll come back to Elephant Bar. Until then, I'll be enjoying a beer at BJ's instead.
Elephant Bar is OK... not the best but definitely not the worst place to eat. Started off with Quick Seared Ahi Tuna with Ponzu and Sweet Potato Fries. For the entrée, I decided to get Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi with a Stella Artois. For dessert ordered the Mud Pie. With that combo of flavor you can't lose. Customer service is pretty good too, nice staff and managers. It's also cool to order the same thing as take out. Adds another dimension to movie night at the house, especially when you have a newborn.
So I've been to the joint a few times with fam, but more recently with the homegirl.
The food is pretty good. I had the Grilled Ahi Ahi with polenta covered with a macadamia nut sauce. Being Samoan, we only really eat macadamia nuts when it's covered in chocolate, and every blue moon when it's not. But as a sauce??
FAN-FRIG'N-TASTIC.
The fish was cooked to perfection, not over done..and no pink spots. The polenta was good too, even though you'd NEVER catch me eat'n the stuff anywhere else. But the sauce did out the dish away. It was nothing like I expected, yet everything that I thought it would be ( I know I Know...but think about it.....got it? good!).
My friend had had a lemon pepper'd salmon dish that was also REALLY good. She also had that brownie mess with the ice cream and sprinkles. I had a sample and ended up ordering one to take to the household (which I never got to eat cuz my bighead sister ate it..the JERK).
The mango swirl drinks were good as hell too.
Customer service was a mad cute white chick who grinned every time she seen me..hahaha..ok ok..but she gave great customer service, and were very prompt.
1 star though for taking so damn long to seat us. hahaha..
The wait was reasonable for a Saturday evening.. 30 minutes. The food was delicious but our server wasn't that great. She took our orders and made sure we were good but it seems like she was cutting it short each time we try to order something, like she was in a hurry to get us out, or she was super busy. Even if it's busy.. the food might not be that great but service is everything.
I used to be a huge fan of Elephant Bar. My family was pretty excited when one opened at Serramonte. We were all quickly disappointed. The food here doesn't compare to their other locations.
They're usually pretty busy either way so make reservations. Their happy hour appetizer specials are a pretty good deal.
I ordered dessert once and they forgot to charge me. Nothing I love more than free food and dessert, does not compensate though.
The first time we came here for lunch, it was 12:30 PM and overrun by nuns (when you came in, the whole right side had nuns waiting to be seated). We were told the wait was about 20 minutes. So we skipped EB for Mickey D's (sorry, kids, gotta.eat.now).
The second time we came, it was 11:00 AM and we got seated in a jiffy. I ordered a Chicken Marsala with a side of green salad and DH ordered the Santa Fe burger w/ sweet potato fries. The portions are ginormous! I split my plate with the Kid and there was enough for both of us. I have to say the chicken marsala was good. DH was happy with his burger. Service was excellent. Not as bad as some reviews here, maybe this is a different staff?
Minus one star for the sad kids' meal. I wished they served more healthier fare other than burger, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, etc.
Otherwise, we're happy campers!
I've been to this Elephant Bar many times. I haven't had any real complaints until the other night...
It was happy hour near the bar so we got appetizers half off! woohoo! The chicken tenders are always a hit! BUT...
I had the Macadamia Nut Crusted Chicken over Rice and one of the pieces of chicken was totally RAW!! I think they just browned the outside and it wasn't even partially cooked on the inside!! We sent that back and then the manager, Justin, said he was going to get it fixed.
Upon coming back with the new order, we weren't satisfied with the other entree (Ahi Siered Tuna Salad or something) because the dressing was way too strong and we just wanted to order something else.
I'm not one that sends things back ever, unless it is uncooked!
Instead of ordering another entree, we just ordered creme brulee and to our surprise...
The creme brulee was BURNT ON THE TOP AND RAW ON THE INSIDE!
How the hell can I eat RAW CHICKEN AND BURNT AND RAW CREME BRULEE?!
Justin only removed the Ahi Siered Tuna Salad and the Creme Brulee...WTF
How can you not comp the whole meal?!!?!
We have eaten here several times. The one thing really lacking is good service. The food is decent and they have loads to choose from. We always get the Sweet Potato Fries, they are fantastic. It is very family friendly and it is always bustling so it is a fun atmosphere. The prices are good and it is comfortable seating. I recomend it for families or large crowds of friends. Wouldnt take a date there unless you are under 25,, then I guess it would be a gas.
One other tid bit, you can ask for food to be extra spicy if that is how you like it.. my husband always does and is never disapointed.
I'm never very impressed with this place, but I always end up eating here for some odd reason. Oh I know why, because my friends are weird and they like it.
I'm not a fan of the Asian fusion style. However, I do have to say that they have good desserts and drinks, and the decoration is really cool.
Overpriced mediocre food, loud background noises from 21st birthday celebrations, inattentive service. THIS IS MY MOST FAVORITEST RESTAURANT EVER OMG.
