My wife is a designer out of New York, and when we come to her hometown of St Louis, she always insists on coming here. Elders is a treasure trove of unique and beautiful antiques. The selection is vast and diverse (THREE floors), with something for every taste and budget. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and they go out of their way to ensure you find exactly what you're looking for. The prices are more than fair, and the quality is outstanding. I highly recommend Elders to anyone in the market for high-end antiques at reasonable prices.

I thought I'd reviewed Elder's before. No? Ok...
The place is huge. Deep building. Three floors. Many antiques, including so much furniture and each piece I have seen in excellent condition. I usually buy smaller pieces here, including old photos (nerd that I am, I look through the ones that have legible names on the back and find descendants of those depicted). They offer a sizeable discount if you pay in cash.
No mask requirement, but vaccines have been available for quite some time and the place is big enough to space yourself many feet from the nearest person.

Best antique shop in St. Louis. I've purchased numerous items from Elders to include cedar chests, antique radios, antique chairs, cabinets, you name it. Always priced well and I love the staff. They always get a lot of new items in.

I read some of the bad reviews, and those are pretty much political attacks from local "progressives" which stemmed from the owner thanking police for increasing patrols when crime increased. The shop made national news because local communists put a sign on their store threatening them by saying "pig supporters not welcome here. Flag goes down or you go down." Marked with hammer and sickle, and MLM (Marxism, Leninism, Maoism. The communists then followed through by breaking the shop's windows. Elders has been on Cherokee antique row for decades, almost half a century. They didn't deserve this treatment, and I'm thankful they continue to keep their shop in this neighborhood. Oh yeah, the communists also like to rip down her American flag and throw it on the ground when walking their dogs. Seriously, its insane.

So, ignore the negative removes. They are purely political because the owners, with the main owner being of Syrian decent, love the United States and flies the flag. Their clientele is extremely diverse as well. I was in the shop the other day and one of their African American neighbors stopped in to say high, and it was mentioned how the owners invited him to enjoy Thanksgiving with their family. Honestly, yelp should remove the bad reviews that are obvious political attacks from extremists minded people.

Bottom line, their two shops are awesome, and I don't know of any better in the St. Louis Metro. The owners and staff are great people.

LOVE this shop. Top end antiques. The owner, Cherri, is a delight and so much fun to talk to. She is knowledgable, helpful, loves her business, and is totally honest about what she sells (will tell you what is a knock-off and not an antique). Most of all, she loves St. Louis.

It was thought that I was going to do business with some actual decent people. Well was I wrong........ It was in fact my mistake to send someone else besides myself but I didn't think the owners and their daughter would take advantage of someone into thinking he was getting a great deal when they infact basically robbed him blind. I sent my buddy with a fairly large amount of oriental pieces for them to look at. Not only did they show him some low prices online that some pieces had been sold for that were well below fair market value. My friend who isn't knowledgeable thought they had done him and myself a solid. Well the more I unpacked the more I realized he had been robbed these are extreamly dishonest people. When I did in fact ask them about them they told me to get my junk....... Bring them back their money. When I said I would they haven't returned my messages. I'm a father who uses this to help provide for his family and I'm so happy these people believe in taking from the hard working class and who gladly took advantage of a situation. Hard to find good honest people to do business with this day and age. Too bad I can't put a negative rating

Wow. What a great shop! We hit up several shops in the area this one was a best. Very clean. Woman working was way friendly. Very nice personality. There are three levels to this place. So make sure you have time to check it all out.
Great selection of goods. Really clean and organized. Wasn't that weird smell in the air either. Lol.
They have a nice mix of antiques. Different time period. Quality was excellent. You can tell the owner and staff takes pride in the shop.
      Prices were great.
Staff even gave me a two for one when I checked out.
Downfall was they don't take credit cards at that location but their other shop next street over they own that does. So you just skip over there and pay and go back with receipt to pick up your items.

Wife and I have shopped and purchased items from Elder's approximately a dozen times. Yes, their front is boarded up, but I do not blame them one bit due to the violent enablers that use an excuse to commit hideous acts against small businesses in the name of justice. Those types are despicable and have no place in a civil society. They remind me of the self righteous zealots that history has written about and they never build, only to destroy and force others to conform through terror.
Yes, they can be a little pricey but it depends on what you're looking for. My opinion is most items are reasonable and I do some research before purchasing anything so I do not overpay. Wife and I are collectors of vintage and antiques so we can display beautiful items at our house. We buy to save beauty and do not intend to resale and canvas other antique stores in the county in hopes of finding to preserve items from the past. If you are into vintage/antique furniture, crystals, silver pieces, Elder's is a very good stop. We love beautiful handcrafted mahogany furniture and have purchased a couple of pieces from them that we proudly displace to admire. Of course, some TLC was applied to restore the luster of the wood but it was well worth the effort and price.
I can tell most of the negative reviews are from the hateful angry sort that have the "conform or else" mentality of the crazy despondents roaming the streets like wildlings. Just ignore them and see for yourself. Oh, I am a minority and care less about loud opinionated people and their rudeness, I only care how I'm treated individually and Elder's has always been respectful and friendly towards me. Even gave us extra discounts for being repeat customers. I patronize other business that might have different political beliefs than me, but I only care how they treat me if I'm being polite and respectful to them. If they conduct themselves badly, I just won't go there again and take my business elsewhere and obviously post a negative review reflecting my DIRECT ENCOUNTER with the establishment, not based on an assumption because I judged the book by its cover. I try to give everyone the chance to prove their worthiness and I expect the same from myself and not be a hypocrite like so many others out there. Grow up people and maybe you'll induce a little happiness into your life...or not lol.

One of the great vintage antique stores on Cherokee Street reasonable prices and lots of interesting items well worth the visit. I think you find very knowledgeable people there in particular George was there on the weekend and he was very helpful very friendly in very willing to answer any questions we might have on any of the items. I think though go out of their way to find any specially item that you might be looking for even if it means sending your business somewhere else.

The owner (I forgot her name) was incredibly friendly and I had a wonderful time talking to her. She was also able to remember the name of a shop I had been looking for but had since closed, which I was so grateful for. The store itself is incredibly clean and organized, especially considering how much merchandise is there. A shop down the street was quite dusty and over crowded. They could use the advice of Elder's! I will most definitely be back on a regular basis to browse this beautiful little gem of a store.

First off the place had air conditioning, that in itself is a plus. Then the owner was very friendly and even got us bottles of water. She was helpful trying to find the items I was hunting for and finding prices. If you are looking for china patterns this place has tons.
