El Tapatio Mexican Restaurant

Tonight was a I'm not cooking night !
My wonderful Husband decided he wanted Mexican !
So we
Went to EL TAPATIO ON 192 / vine
We were seated immediately! Even when it was getting busy !
They had LIVE MUSIC TONIGHT !!
I ordered the chili rellenos dinner .. which comes with
Mexican rice & refried beans ... It of course was PERFECT !
Please note : their dinners are a lot to eat ((( don't fill up on the chips & salsa ))).... Of course the chips are warm, not overly salted and the salsa is FRESH & COLD
I ordered a nice ice cold corona beer! Which come with a frosted mug & Lime wedge for perfection
Our waitress Magali L was super attentive- on point when my beer was low Made sure we didn't need anything !! Hubby ordered the corn tacos w/ ground beef,
Cilantro in lime (& onion). He practically inhaled them!
This is truly a wonderful restaurant to stop into !

If you're looking for a quick Mexican spot with a great lunch menu check this place out! I come here with my coworkers for their lunch specials, the carne fajitas were about 15.99 which is not bad compared to their dinner prices. Since they are a little restaurant in the corner of a street they are small with limited parking but the service is good because there are not a lot of people inside. Decorated like your traditional Mexican restaurant. Definitely a good lunch spot close to the hospitals!

Love this restaurant for some fast tacos, my favorite will always be the tacos al pastor. I normally come between 12-5pm for Happy Hour, the margs are a little sweet but they do the job. Service is fast and there are always tables available

I ordered the Carne Asada tacos and asked for a side of white onion and green salsa. They brought me a side of salsa with a substantial amount of onion which I loved, the green salsa is a bit spicy and could use a bit of salt but overall it tasted pretty good. The tacos where delicious although I prefer yellow tortilla over white, it was still pretty good. We had ordered a side of guacamole and that tasted very fresh but also could use a little more salt. Horchata for the drink was my go to. It tasted very fresh as well!

We visit this place generally two to three times a month for the past eight months. In that time we have had only one occasion where we were displeased with the food. That was quickly resolved and we received free drinks as compensation. The prices for food and drinks are very reasonable. The service is always good, sometimes better than others. Some of the wait staff seem to enjoy their jobs more so than others. Even though they have music playing in the background it has never been too loud to interfere with normal conversation. It is a very casual and comfortable atmosphere.

All I'll tell you is...margarita! That thing surprised me when I saw that giant bowl. lol! It's a very authentic mex restaurant and the service is top notch.

As I'm new to the area, there are many restaurants to choose from. Last night I tried El Tapatio, and I wasn't disappointed. The lady who took my order was patient as I looked over the menu. She asked if I had anything in mind and suggested the nachos. I ordered the Texas-style nachos with chicken, steak, and shrimp, which ran about $21. The nachos were full of flavor and were good. This restaurant was pretty busy, but the waitress was attentive to their tables.

Fresh...Authentic....Flavorful...So damn good! I got the 3 taco combo with two El pastor and one carne asada. If I'm ever in this area again, this will definitely be my go to taco spot.

Absolutely delicious!!! As a California girl, it's hard to find good authentic Mexican food. Most of the stuff is tex-mex. But this was top tier!! Definitely coming back!
