I have been eating Korean food at E Jo for several years and have found it to be consistent in the quality of food and service. I probably prefer Myung Ga as my first choice but toward the east side of Salt Lake City this is the best Korean place I have found. Today I had a cold buckwheat soup which came with the typical nice assortment of kimchi and other appetizers. Everything was flavorful and tasted fresh.
One time I was here, the Korean national speed skating team was eating dinner after participating in the world championship; a possible indication of the quality offered at E Jo.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 1, 2014
I have been to Ejos quite a few times and have always had a good experience. Tonight was my first night going with a big party. There was nine of us coming in at 8:00pm. The server did let us know that they were closing at 9:00pm (a settle hint that they did not want us to linger around for too long).
Some of my friends wanted to order the 21.99 all you can eat pork BBQ but were told that if one person ordered it, everyone had to. Their reasoning was because they have found people sharing so they wanted to prevent that. This was quite disappointing.
Food came out quick and everyone received what they ordered. I ordered my usual, the black bean noodles (request a side of pickled radish, this is different from the general side dishes they give you).
Overall, I give this place a 4 for their consistency in food and their amazing service to small and big groups.

I came here this last weekend with a group of friends. We ordered the beef and pork bulgogi (marinated thin sliced meat), seafood pancake, noodle soup that had beef, octopus and veggies.
I would give this place an extra star possibly if we just stuck with the grilled meat items. The meat was marinated well and quite tasty. I do wish that there was an AYCE KBBQ place out here. If you do find one let me.
The pancake I wouldn't recommend getting out here. It was quite bland and really soft. No crisped to it at all.
The soup didn't have very much noodles to it at all. There was a good amount of the other stuff in it though. You could taste the seafood flavor in soup. This dish was liked and not liked by some.
Another sucky thing is that you have to pay for rice here and it can get quite pricy without being totally full. We paid about $17/person incl tax and tip for 6 people.
They have a decent looking lunch special with prices and options from what I see.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jordan C.Salt Lake City, UT44136547May 16, 2015
Went there with Moms about a week ago for a quick lunch. First time there. I liked it but I've definitely had better (out of state Korean restaurants). For Utah, not bad. I'd heard good things about it and wanted to try it out.
My Mom had the pork bulgogi lunch bento box (essentially what it was but wasn't called that on the menu). Main dish was spicy sauteed pork. I thought bulgogi was more of a sweet and salty flavored dark sauce (not spicy red). Regardless of whether or not it was named correctly, it was pretty good. Too spicy for her but not much spice for me (I like spicy). Pork was generally good and well flavored, as well as tender. However, she did say there were quite a few grisly pieces mixed in. No bueno.
I had the Japchae noodles (although I think it is just called noodles pan fried with vegetables and beef on the menu; or something like that). I like Japchae done right. It was pretty flavorful and had really tasty marinated beef but I thought the noodles were a little slimy (best description). Maybe they were overcooked at the boiling stage.
Side dishes were pretty good. We had kimchee (of course), marinated spuds, sliced marinated fishcake, marinated bean sprouts and spicy marinated turnip.
Service was good but slow. I do love Korean BBQ and I want to bring the family here next time to do the actual BBQ thing. Will be updating my review at that point.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Zuhadi Z.Folsom, CA295211449May 7, 2015Updated review
In a nutshell, very nice Korean food!
The Beef and Octopus soup was delightful. When they say octopus, they really mean it. The octopus tentacles were monstrously big! I had never thought that beef would mix well with octopus, let alone in a soup, but I was pleasantly proven wrong.
I also like the Bulgogi. The beef was tender and sweet! I had never tasted beef as sweet as this. Not sugary sweet but it was like the beef was bursting with wholesome flavor. Very nice.
I have mixed feeling about the Grilled Rib meat though. They were slightly chewy, which i have no problem with but i thought the taste was a little bit on the bland side. Probably this tasted even milder because I had it together with the tasty Bulgogi.
We were here as a party of almost 20 people for a friend's birthday dinner. The service was good. Food came at a reasonable time and they were willing to split the checks whichever way we wanted.

We order Bulgogi & Galbi that we grilled our self on our table. We also order Haemul Pajun (seafood pancake w/ green onion), Nakkji Bokkum (pan fried octopus w/ spicy sauce), Kimchi Jigae( kimchi stew w/ slices of pork, veggie & tofu ) & Galbi Tang (prime short rib soup)! The dishes comes with 5 side dishes and wild rice. Everything was good, although in my personal opinion their seafood pancake & kimchi Jigae need improvement.

This place is very decent. This is a place that is some what like those korean restaurants at other states. There are grills on the table where you are allow able to grill your meat and eat it fresh. If you are planning on getting the banquet room thought don't expect to have grills on the table. The meats will come out cooked already for you on a sizzling plate.
My friends and I ordered family style at this place. We ordered bulgogi, seafood hotpot and a beef and octopus hot pot. The food was very good. The meat was super tender and the spice level was perfect.
The service on the other hand felt a bit weird. It seems like the servers was rushing us because even before our party was all fully there they kept asking us questions and kept asking us to order. With every additional rice you asked for they do charge extra so if one bowl of rice is not enough for you and your meat you better be prepared to pay more. Water refills took a little bit longer, but I want to think that it is because of our large group of people.
All in all...this is a decent korean restaurant and I would be coming back to this place but with a smaller group this time to actually see if it is worth a 5 star or not.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Belange H.Salt Lake City, UT62255404Nov 17, 2014
My husband and I went to Ejo for some Korean BBQ on our weekly date night.
Sure glad we gave this place a try.
Between the two of us, we got the combo tofu soup, pork belly, and Gal Bi.
All the food came with some yummy purple Korean rice, lettuce, and various side dishes. The soup had a very good flavor to it and the bbq meat was just perfect with the two dipping sauces they brought. It is a lot of food though and your clothes will smell like KBBQ for weeks, so come prepared!
The service was also top notch, our waitresses were very nice and was quick to refill our drinks and side dishes. They also help you grill the meat (always a plus!).
We are excited to come back and try their other dishes.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Juliet C.Indianapolis, IN2765976Feb 27, 2014
So far this is the only place in SLC where I've seen kbbq grills on the tables. I've been craving kbbq for awhile so it was awesome I could find this place when I was out for dinner with a friend. Compared to other korean restaurants in the area, this one is definitely the best. But compared overall to the kbbq restaurants I've been to, it's just okay.
We ordered the chadol baegi (thinly sliced beef) and sam gyup sal (pork belly) to grill and we had a kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew) to share. Everything was fine. The only downsides I saw were the lack of variety and taste in the side dishes and the prices. Everything is way overpriced for the quality, but if this is the only restaurant that offers kbbq on the table, I don't blame them for upping the price. The service was great at first, but after awhile we had to keep flagging them down. Korean restaurants are not really known for their service though haha
I will probably be coming here often just because I miss home cooking so much when I'm not back home.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 5, 2016
Great place for gathering together with friends that love Korean! We tried just about everything. Loved the pan chons (kim chi, cucumber kim chi, radish kimchi, potatoes). We had the veggie soon tobu (soft tofu soup), BBQ pork, BBQ chicken, BBQ beef, stone bowl rice and veggie bowl, mandu (pot stickers), sweet and sour pork, and more. Nothing like grilling your meat on a grill in your table. Felt like we were sitting in downtown Seoul again.
