Don't go here.
Napa is a great wine County with delicious restaurants in Yountville. However, sushi in Oxbow isn't one of them.
I got the Tuna Nigiri; $10 for 2 pieces of clearly pre-frozen fish. Tasteless and mushy.
Not worth.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Victor, Our AAA Grade Ahi Tuna is from Hawaii and is a sustainably Line caught Tuna. I can personally guarantee that it is never frozen and we buy from the the Top Suppliers in our industry..

Had an excellent lunch the other day. Brian the sushi chef was great. He made suggestions and recommendations and all were delicious. The hamachi bombs are a new all time favorite for me! The Toro was delicious and the rolls were done really well. Would definitely come back!

My lunch treat on a Wednesday was a trip to Eiko's. The small spot had maybe 6 chairs. The service was lightning fast and I enjoyed my quick bite.
Miso soup was really good. The added mushrooms were good. However, for $10, I don't know if I am going to get it again.
The poke bowl on the other hand is ok. I wished there were a little bit more toppings. Anyways, I will try the other poke bowl next time.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - 10871353480Jul 29, 2023
I was standing near the sushi bar when I arrived, nobody greeted me, chef was right there, didn't say anything to me, dirty plates and food left all over the sushi bar so I didn't sit down as it was not clean and I didn't want to clean it all myself.
So I decided to order at the cashier. I probably would have chose another place inside the market but it was late and few options. I got the Hawaiian poke bowl. It was yummy, high price but had lots of fish so I feel that was fair and the taste and quality was high.
I ended up squeezing in At the end of the sushi bar. I told my cashier I wanted to eat at the sushi bar and she said she would tell the chef, however the chef served me food in a to-go bowl .
Then I asked the chef for soy sauce and he gave me to-go packets even though I was eating there. I didn't really feel welcomed. The chef was talking to a customer next to me for the whole time I was there but never talked to me. I would have bought more items if the chef suggested something special to me.
I had a beer, it was good. Cashier was very friendly. Sushi chef was nice enough to get me soy sauce so he wasn't rude or anything. The food was good.
After I was done eating they started to clean up and finally started to clean up all the food at the sushi bar. So it sat there for my whole meal. Nobody could sit in those seats the whole time. Maybe they didn't notice.
So I'm kind of torn how many stars to give this place. I didn't really feel taken care of or that welcome. Food was good however. Place was messy because of no cleaning up after customers until closing time. I guess I will go with four stars because I would eat there again.
I just feel that the staff can do so much better if they would consider things from the other side of the sushi bar as a customer. Sorry for my honesty here, I didn't really look forward to writing this review. I worked at sushi restaurant for a few years as a waitress and I know how difficult of a job it can be.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 52329145Feb 25, 2024
They are very nice there. One of my go to make it home meals is to get some of their sustainably grown ho came salmon. Then I take it home. Slice it sashimi style and enjoy with from their fine collection. The fish is always very fresh and delicious Sasaki recommendations Right on and I like the evening weekday chef.

I hate to do this review!!! I moved out of Napa 15 years ago and every time I come back witch is almost every 3-6 months I look forward to eat here and also have a bottle of bubbles too, and enjoy the weather and the good food, but for the past 3-4 times it's just been not enjoyable. Salmon is not good anymore looks like ends with so much fat but this time was the cherry on top, we had 2 bowls and 2 rolls, I enjoyed my tuna bowl but I took a piece of sushi that has salmon on top and a pice of lemon and omg it ruined my whole experience, fishy taste and could not get it out of my mouth and just those 4 things were almost $100, I'm sorry but take some pride on your fresh fish please!!! I would say this was the last time I set a foot in this place and this was one of my faves.

We ordered the sake maki (salmon roll) and negi hama (yellowtail roll) along with two hot green teas for takeout. We watched them microwave water for the hot teas. That's a first we've ever seen at any restaurant.
15 minutes later we picked up our order - and the sight of what we saw had us wishing we could return it right then and there.
The rolls looked like they were from the kids menu. They were small and sad. 6 pieces each from rolls about the size of a diameter of a nickel.
The fish looked normal in color but were rubbery in texture. The salmon included large white pieces of blubber/fat as well as salmon skin. I have never seen blubber served as sashimi or in salmon rolls before. But then I'm from the Bay Area which is blessed with authentic Japanese restaurants.
The food was disgusting. We just think of the $28 we spent as a donation so we wouldn't feel so bad. Honestly just writing this review is making my stomach turn at remembering the blubber that was included in my salmon roll. One star because the green tea was good.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - ginger h.Napa, CA065Mar 28, 2023
As a local who has frequented their downtown restaurant which is really nice, I was disappointed in the Oxbow venue. I typically speak to management directly prior to posting, but I figure it just needs to be out there.
Pros:
1. Solid food
2. Poke bowls are decent
3. Poke (in the case) by weight is very good! Hands down better than Osprey.
Cons:
1. "Locals Discount"
Tuesday "Locals Discount" -- For us locals who support you when tourist numbers are low and high, deserve more than the "less fresh" "leftovers" on Tuesdays at a discount. It says we're valued only to the extent that you'll sell us your leftovers at a discount. What an insult....
2. Overpriced, but what isn't right now? I get it.
3. Rolls are shamefully overpriced for the quantity and quality (in the grab n go case)
Charge a "little" more and make rolls that aren't an embarrassment to Asian food lovers. Or... lower the price so it's easier to swallow the insult.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Ginger, why would you think we are selling “less fresh” fish on any day of the week?? Our locals night deals are the exact same deals on our locals focused happy hour at our downtown eatery. Our fish is delivered fresh daily and locals night is an oxbow wide event that is specifically designed to bring locals to oxbow on slow nights so they get a better deal with no sacrifice in quality.
