Eide's truly is a store with something for everyone! From comics to records, even toys and antiques there is a huge selection of items here to look at!
There are multiple floors at Eide's and you can take the stairs but there is an elevator. Their floors are organized by the type of item they sell on that floor. For example, one floor is records, another is comics, toys, and action figures, so it's pretty simple to find the right direction if you're looking for something specific. The staff is also very kind and helpful.
During my most recent trip I was browsing the first floor and found one of my favorite books from my childhood! It was only $5 and I couldn't pass it up.
You just never know what you'll find here, but I can guarantee if you look hard enough you'll find some gems!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mar 4, 2024
Lots of great comics and vintage stuff. The people are also really nice and are willing to help answer any questions you and and if they dont know the answer research it. It's pretty cool that they also have 2 floors of vintage memorabilia and comics! Prices are pretty decent too!

I was in Pittsburgh visiting friends ad they suggested we stop in here. I was mainly looking for some comics I have not been able to find elsewhere, and I found them here! The stor is huge and is very well organized. I asked for some help as I was looking for Marvel/DC crossovers and the Amalgam comics, and the employee there pointed me right to them.

We popped in here on our way back from the Heinz History Center and were impressed by the massive collection of items, from comic books to movies and toys. It reminded me of the types of stores I used to go to when I was younger and didn't have any money. Now that I'm older and do have money, I don't want stuff nearly as much, go figure!
Unfortunately the customer service here is a bit lacking, as the employees seem to have no interest in helping anyone or even checking out someone who wants to buy something. That someone was me.
If the goal is to encourage people to just window shop, they are amazing at what they do.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alex H.Rochester, NY01May 30, 2023
This was an amazing place! Four floors of comics, CDs, VHS, DVDs, posters, memorabilia etc. You name it they probably have it! All the staff was extremely helpful, and had great insight. Eide's certainly lives up to its reputation and legacy!

I have been here last 15 years ago and was my favorite place for comics, figures, hard to find foreign movies. I found out on my first visit since on last weekend the manager passed and new management. The new manager was pleasant but the other staff members seemed to lack customer service skills. It is a gem in the strip thought and enjoy the 4 levels of unique memorabilia. Very good price points.

I remember coming to Eide's somewhat often when I lived in Pittsburgh. I remember it having a slight reputation for having, maybe, not the nicest of staff or the most helpful, but I still went because this place had so much to offer that, in the event that I had a bad customer service experience (which I didn't), it didn't matter because I found something amazing.
On a recent trip back home I knew I wanted to stop there and see what it was like now; had they gotten things I just needed to pack in my carry-on bag ( I was praying so).
Now, if you are new to Eide's, know this: it's freaking enormous. It's like a department store for pretty much everything entertainment related; from movies, books, vinyl, toys, comics, and on and on and on. You can't just rush in and out here. You've got to take your time and look. Like thrifting for that perfect retro shirt. You've got to put in time before you strike gold.
The main floor where you enter has their current cd's, some vinyl and old magazines like Rolling Stone. One thing to keep in mind: each floor is separate, you'll need to leave your bag each time you enter a new floor. The way I've always done it- not sure if it's right but, if I buy something on one floor, it doesn't go to one checkout- you pay at that specific floor which I think is what they want. Only downside is that you're making a bunch of transactions instead of just one, but whatever honestly. If you have the money in your account I suppose it's not an issue? Ok, anyway...
The basement floor would be where the comics are and some various toy ranging from new to retro, this also applies to the comics as well. The top floor has collectible vinyl, dvds, some VHS as well and an adult section. Below the top floor has a large selection of used CD's.
Each floor I was greeted by a separate employee. Everyone was friendly, helpful and seemingly happy to wait on me. I didn't need much assistance, but I was offered by a few employees. It was nice. The vibe here was laidback and chill. I didn't feel any pressure to buy anything or like I was being pressured to leave because I didn't have anything in my hand.
In the end, I found a used CD and a vinyl record- both in great condition. I left a happy customer and every time I'm back home, I'm stopping at Eide's to pick myself up a treat because I know they'll have something I need or want.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Josh G.Brigantine, NJ14188124Jul 15, 2022
Wow! What a surprise this place was. Impressive amount of media ranging from dvd's, blu-ray's, cd's, vinyl, to a huge backlog of magazines, comic books, books, action figures, games and even an adult section. Really you need a whole day to peruse the place. Because I was visiting a friend from out of town I couldn't spend as much time here, but I will be back on my next visit to increase my vinyl collection.

We were walking through the city, on our way somewhere else when we noticed Eide's. Anything entertainment-related will stop my fiancé in his tracks and bring him into the store. Even though I'm not much of a comic book/collector person, I don't mind browsing so we decided to check it out.
The selection is pretty impressive. DVDs, VHS, video games, comics, figures... You want it, they probably have it. They also had vintage/antique shelves too. Everything was pretty dirt cheap too, so it seems like you're getting a pretty good deal for what it's worth.
This is a cool store to check out if that's the kind of stuff you're into.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Deanna D.Pittsburgh, PA62Jul 18, 2022
As you can see the other 3 or less star reviews, the place is 3 floors of amazing items reasonably priced. Although, went for the first time today & older guy on the first floor made some rude comments. I'm a 24 year old female, I asked him if I could look at this back section, he responded that's where people who want to spend a lot of money go. Pretty much people who are willing to spend a lot, I guess I didn't look like the type too or he just didn't have the time of day to deal with anyone which is crazy if you are on the clock getting paid to work.
Huge selection, staff felt snobby.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
