Eggroll House

Every single time I am back in CR I have to stop at Eggroll House. I've never written a Yelp review before, but I am so passionate about my love for this place that I felt I needed to.

I suggest the "Hot Braised Chicken" with fried rice. I have never been able to find anything like it where I currently live. Mouth is watering just thinking about it. Also, they have the best crab rangoons (since Pei's closed). Just a perfect meal with friendly staff.

P.S. How do you order this at other Chinese places in other cities?? Not sure how to even describe it.

We've been eating at one location or another for 30 years. This isn't fancy Chinese food. It is casual everyday kind of food. I don't think the dishes have changed since they opened. What that gives us, is consistent flavors and expectations met. Even when what you wanted today was just egg-rolls and hour and sour soup.

In the short time that I have lived here in the Cedar Rapids area, I have had the opportunity to eat here at the Eggroll House a few times. And for a fast food Chinese Restaurant, it's pretty darn good!

My bff's mom, who takes me to some of my dr's appts, turned me on to this place! She said that she use to stop by here on a regular basis when she drove her City Bus. She would stop here to pick up a quick lunch. If

I ate there yesterday and had great service and food. It has been my very favorite place for many years. Wait staff is excellent and caring. I ate with a friend who said the same. I even took a dinner home for today. I would give them a 5 rating out of five. I have gone there for over 25 or 30 years.

Best egg rolls in town - maybe anywhere.

Love the hot braised chicken. Also, the hot braised tofu!

You will be surprised how good a non-meat dish can be

The restaurant is not clean, piles of supplies everywhere in the dining area, broken furniture, but the food is good and always hot.

Easily the best fast Chinese food in CR. The hot braised chicken is so good. As are the egg rolls and crab Rangoon. Not my go to for Kung Pao, but everything else I've had here is so freaking good.

This restaurant confuses me with their flavour profiles on dishes.

I've had kung pao chicken, beef and broccoli, hot braised chicken, hot braised chicken wings and egg rolls on several different occasions.

As I understand it, this is a Korean owned restaurant; not that it matters or that I care -- but that may influence the style of Chinese food that is prepared.

With that said, the hot braised chicken dishes as well as the egg rolls are delicious! The other items were just, ok. Not authentic by any means, but which Chinese place in the Corridor *does* serve that?

I have eaten at Chinese places all over the country and this is the only one that makes Mongolian beef and szechuan shrimp the way that I like! Most Chinese restaurants I've been to all have the same flavor for everything as of it all comes from one place. The owner at this location is so nice and the people complaining that it costs $40 to feed a family of 4 are insane, where do you get meals cheaper than that? I never pay less than $100 when we all go out to eat so I'd absolutely love a bill that was only $40! I get food to go from here every time I go through Cedar Rapids. The first time I ever ate here was in 1999 and I will continue to go as long as they are open.

The food is bland. No taste to the food. The employees were friendly. I'll not go back.
