Enjoyed our breakfast, as we always do. J tried the stuffed hash browns for the 1st time and he really enjoyed them. He has leftovers for breakfast tomorrow. We love coming to Effie Cafe. Best cafe in the area!

The customers are hometown regulars, seasonal visitors and people traveling through the area. Kathy, the owner, or one of her staff greet you when you enter the cafe. The service is great, always friendly, and your coffee cup is never empty.
Today, J had the Cowboy omelet with sausage, mushrooms & onions. The Cowboy omelet is a 3-egg omelet that comes with bacon, sausage or ham & 2 veggies of your choice (onions, green peppers, tomato, black olives, mushrooms. Also toast (white, wheat, marble rye) or English muffin (white or wheat).
I first ordered hot chocolate, yummy! I also ordered the Vegetarian omelet that comes with all veggies and whole wheat English muffin.
We both really enjoyed our breakfast. The servings are generous & both of us took half of our omelet home (guess what we are having for breakfast tomorrow morning).
I cannot speak to the lunch or dinner options, but I can safely say that breakfast is delicious, staff is very friendly, food is served hot & quick and price point is reasonable.
I think we need to come back for lunch or dinner to try the homemade soup and pies. - Kim S.Arlington, MN91514Aug 3, 2018
Awesome, quaint and definitely Minnesota's Northwoods charm. My breakfast is fit for Paul Bunyan but suited perfectly for me.

Ordered the steak medium rare and it came out very overdone. After my family was totally finished eating, I got another steak, but it was totally rare and raw in the middle. The salad and baked potato were so-so. The burger and fries were reportedly good from my family members.

Great breakfasts! Great pie! Coffee, too. Personal favorite is the BLT. If you like diner food, and I do, then this is the place to go.

Nice little cafe, you can't beat the breakfast two platter size pancakes eggs and meat. Prices reasonable.

What a great spot! Our family had burgers, onion rings, the Kyle, soup and a grilled ham & cheese. Service was excellent, we felt very welcomed as we stopped in for lunch - and were offered a happy birthday treat for our daughter. Will definitely be back!!

Best breakfast 100 miles in any direction. Kathy has owned the place for over 20 years and is very friendly when she is not busy. Kids love to watch the hummingbirds out the window.

We were wandering around, weary, starving, and tired from the hike we took nearby and so we stopped in the Effie Cafe for a bite to eat. From the outside the little cafe looks warm and inviting, perfect for a cool day. Seeking perhaps a slice of rhubarb pie and a cup of coffee, we clambered up the steps. Inside there were two rooms, the main cafe and the mural be-decked dining room. We chose to eat in the main room because while the dining room was lovely, it was at this time of day, empty. Our server was lovely and engaging and from the moment we sat down our coffee cups were full and never again empty. It was hard to decide what to eat because everything on the menu looked delicious, although this may have been due to the fact that we were starving. We opted for an early supper. The Walleye fillet sandwich was fresh and fried with a light hand. The biscuits were fluffy and the gravy was hearty, filled with meaty goodness. The breakfast quesadilla was full of fun flavors and generously portioned. As we finished our meal, regulars trickled in greeting each other and adding to the small town friendliness. We truly enjoyed the experience of this wonderful little cafe.
