The staff is usually amazing. They are caring and loving. I moved from CA & brought my 11-year old Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier with me. The clinic diagnosed Abby with a disease that kills most Wheaton's. Abby is now almost 14 years old and she's fine. Yes, she's a little weaker and her back legs are weak, but she still eats her breakfast with gusto. And she walks about 1/2 mile or more every day. I wouldn't say Edina pet hospital is the cheapest vet in town, but they're doing their job and keeping my Abby alive and healthy.

We went in, as we just moved to the state, and I wanted my 11-year old dog to have a health check up after a grueling cross-country trip during which she lost 5 pounds. (She's an emotional terrier.).
It's cost quite a bit so far, but new issues had arisen between now and her last blood work. That then leads to more tests. But it's your dog, your buddy, your friend who trusts only you.
Edina Pet Hospital assumes you want them to do everything in their power to keep your pet happy & healthy. You make the decision whether you want to have them do the tests. And, you'll know more about those tests than you ever wanted to by the time your dog gets treated, IF, there's anything wrong.
I'm very glad I was referred to this pet hospital. I feel like my dog is going to be more healthy because of it. - Jul 30, 2018
We began our search for a new vet when our old one switched ownership to a large conglomerate type group. Every visit to the old place brought with it a new doctor and staff. NO consistency.
My wife has a client that is near by to Edina Pet Hospital and she's in that neighborhood frequently, so we thought we'd check them out after spotting their corner location. They offered Saturday appointments too, which was great for me.
On our first visit we entered through the cat door, which is always a nice touch for my two kitties since they scare easy and aren't around any dogs ever. We were greeted by a young lady, I wanna say her name was Alex. Filled out some paperwork and were placed in a room (see pictures) quite quickly. The appearance of the hospital was quite clean, no hair on the floors or that urine type smell I've experienced at other places. Pleasant.
We were seen by Dr. Katie (my wife's name, so I know I remembered that one). Right away I liked how she knelt down to the floor to meet our pets. She had a very calming demeanor to her and put everyone, humans and felines alike, at ease. We were visiting just for some overdue immunizations and a basic wellness check. Nothing major, but felt good when Dr. Katie reassured us of our pets wellness. She had a few recommendations for controlling weight with our male cat and told us to keep a watchful eye out on their teeth. All in all a great first visit that should be the first of many.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

These guys are still in business? I was there years ago and my dog almost died as a result. I debated suing them but decided instead to move on. They seem like a legit place but their advice is very poor. This was a few years ago but I'm guessing nothing has changed and would avoid this place.
They used to have a groomer next door that you couldn't visit unless your dog was a vet patient, that is how low they stoop to get customers. Very bad reputation in Edina and would not recommend this place.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Larry C.West Bank, Minneapolis, MN02Jan 2, 2023
I brought my dog in to have her check out because she had an abscess. She has had them before so I expected to receive pain meds and an antibiotic. The vet recommended surgery but said she couldn't do it because she had a slight heart murmur (this was not a problem according to my new vet) and they were closing. Instead, I was sent to the emergency vet clinic almost 45 minutes away to find out that I just needed to give my dog pain meds and antibiotics and no emergency surgery was necessary. The emergency vet even said that he was surprised that they sent us in the first place. A lot of worrying for no reason.

Worst veterinarians I have ever come across. Beware!
In a nutshell, I will never forgive them for misdiagnosing each of my dogs on separate occasions. The first time I assumed was a fluke. They could not figure out what was causing hives on my first dog and sent me to the "emergency" hospital in Eden Prairie to have her monitored overnight. It turned out to be a simple bug bite that could have been easily treated.
However, the second time that they went wrong I had gone in with my second dog in terrible back pain. They had sent my poor puppy home saying that "it should work itself out". The lead vet said that dachshunds get back pain and it's normal. By the time we waited overnight we woke up to her unable to move her back legs! I brought her to another vet for a second opinion the next day and they immediately rushed us to the U of M for surgery as she was hours away from being paralyzed or dying. My dog could have avoided so much pain and additional deterioration if they had done their jobs correctly. Even the secondary vet hospital was in shock at their incompetence.
Also, I want to add that they charge much more than other nearby veterinarians for basic services and don't keep the rooms and common areas clean on a regular basis. Incredibly sub par. Worth doing some research to avoid putting your pets in better hands!
Update: After several messages with the main veterinarian (Jill), this establishment still will not take responsibility and even is posting misleading comments on this review indicating that we have not corresponded. Deceitful!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I sincerely hope that you have found a veterinary provider that suites your needs. We hope that you will contact us to help us better understand the circumstances surrounding your experience since we cannot identify you as a client. We appreciate your time.

This is the first bad review I have ever left for a company. I have never had great experiences at Edina Pet Hospital as I feel they care much more about how much money they can get out of you than they do for your pets. It feels like you're getting an oil change and have to decline all sorts of things while you're there. Dr, Clapp, however, was always really great and caring. This current situation, I took my cats in for a nail trim, and asked what was required in order to do that and asked how much it would be, as money is super tight for me right now. They told me on the phone when I was scheduling my appt that just a rabbies vax was needed and that it would be $50/cat, and $25/cat for the nails. They ended up charging for an additional vaccination and a $70 check up fee per cat. My cats are perfectly healthy and did not need a check up. I understand if these things are required, but I called to specifically ask how much I'd be paying that day, and they completely left out that extra $140. They should let their customers know how much everything will cost, especially when asked. Their costs for simple check ups and other services are outrageous, and they admitted to printing out an cost estimation sheet and not showing it to us, but still said there was nothing they could do to get us our $140 back. I will never be bringing my pets here again, which is a bummer because I really did like Dr Clapp and the convenience of the location.

I have a one-year old cat and I felt very comfortable bringing him here. He needed an annual exam and a couple vaccinations. Dr. Jill Eversman was very helpful and friendly. She was gentle with Mr. Chandler, which I appreciated. Also, she let me go back with her for all of his shots and his urine sample. That made me feel a lot more comfortable. Overall, a great experience.

Dr. Claps saw my cat today after I discovered a problem with my cat's eye. She was thorough and gentle and she explained everything to me. I really appreciated the care and wouldn't hesitate to bring my cat here again. My cat is on the mend and I'm so grateful. The facility is very nice and the parking lot has ample space. I'm very happy.

We use multiple services there for our puppy: standard care, boarding, and grooming. I have been extremely pleased with all. The facility is very big, sanitary, and modern - exactly what I hope a veterinary clinic and hospital would look like when I walk into it!!! The staff and doctors are great and know my dog by name. Highly recommend.
