Looking for a nice place to stay close to Legoland, the Econo Lodge In. & Suites is a great choice. The rooms are updated and have a refrigerator and microwave. The beds were comfortable and the shower had good water pressure. We didn't use the pool, but although it's small, it was well maintained and clean looking.
The breakfast is typical but nice. Something about making your own waffles for breakfast is always fun and comforting. They also had oatmeal, cereal, fruit, juice and milk.
The staff here was very nice. We would definitely stay here again!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 15123551290Jan 14, 2017
This is a classic example of "you get what you pay for". The property is nicely landscaped and the building appears well taken care of, but the rooms are less than impressive.
First off; let me state that the staff members that I spoke with during check-in and for a couple of questions later on were very kind and helpful.
As far as the rooms are concerned, there are no lamps, only bright overhead lighting. Not very relaxing, that's for sure. I'm here for a half marathon in the morning, and I'm disappointed with the bad lighting. I'm not completely convinced that this room is clean. It looks clean but doesn't feel clean, and it smells.
The property itself is located next to I-5. I didn't find it noisy, and my room was at the front of the property. Rooms come with a small refrigerator, microwave, and flat screen TV with a lackluster channel selection. The bed was comfy. Free breakfast in the morning, too.
If you stay here, make sure that you're getting a great deal on booking.com or another travel booking site.
Not great, but not horrible.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jema H.Santa Barbara, CA632741021Feb 5, 2019
It is probably a three star hotel but considering that, they have really put a lot into making it tops for a budget option. For the price, this place is an excellent option. The room was clean. I love that they have no carpet! The faux wood tile seems way cleaner than most motels. The location is pretty good (near Legoland) however also next to the freeway. The freeway traffic is a little loud but not overwhelming. The gentleman checking us in was pleasant and helpful.
The breakfast is basic and a little disappointing. While they do have a waffle machine, the food is otherwise minimal. They sacrificed a room (#120) to make a breakfast room, which works okay. There is not a sink or water but they do have orange juice and passion orange guava (the kid says "yuck") on tap. The 'pastries' were dry but cannot tell of old or just cheap. Coffee was not great (note no coffee in room either).
All said, I would stay here again as it was so much cheaper than other options and felt clean and safe. But, we will certainly factor breakfast out into our schedule.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Joy M.Van Nuys, CA102823Mar 17, 2019
The Econo Lodge Inn & Suites near Legoland is a comfortable, and clean place to stay. It is family friendly. I chose this place after I refused to stay at Hyland Inn (see that review).
It is conveniently located just off the I-5. That said, the rooms closer to the freeway are subject to freeway noise, but it is like white noise to me so I didn't mind. There is a Vons market, Rite Aid and Starbucks very close by.
The room (#101) and closet were large. Nice King size bed and light switches on each side. LED lighting in the room.
Continental breakfast is typical of Choice Hotels: waffles, boiled eggs, coffee, toast/bagels and a few other items.
Parking is abundant and easy.
Front office staff were helpful and courteous.
One star off because 1) my room had a half dozen mosquitos that I had to obliterate... easy task for me as I grew up near the swamps of the South. When I went to the room I noticed one of the windows was open, so they must've gotten in through that prior to my stay. 2) The security latch was missing. The deadbolt was still working so that was good.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Claudia S.Inglewood, CA905Nov 25, 2018Updated review
I would never stay at this hotel again! The room was not ready. When we went inside the floor was still wet. There was not enough toilet paper either.
The beds were bad. The room didn't smell either. But the reason why I booked the hotel was to get away from LA for the weekend and go to the Flower Fields which was great !! But I got the hotel so my daughter can swim in their pool. When she tried to go in there was a sign saying the city closed it down for health risks !! I complained and said this isn't what I paid or came for. They should say something on their website about the pool being closed! Very disappointing!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Apr 18, 2018Previous reviewI would never stay at this hotel again! The room was not ready. When we went inside the floor was still wet. For almost $200 on a weeknight we were seriously unimpressed. We had the room right over the lobby and quite literally ON the I5 freeway. The room reminded me of what would be considered a "nice" hotel in say, Panama. Clean but not comfortable at all and our TVs were horrible, you could barely read the text because it was so blurry and washed out. Breakfast was basically cold cereals and cold crappy pastries and I was just baffled by the price! Quite honestly I wished I had paid a hundred dollars more to stay at an ACTUAL nice place than to waste a hundred dollars on a motel room that was worth less than half that and that Could serve as a drive thru window for the trucks on the interstate. We
Tried to speak to management about our disappointment but they never showed up and didn't return our calls...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christina A.Martinez, CA13510Apr 6, 2018
Their rooms were very spacious, I did love the location I wish the pool had been open, it was very close to legoland, I did have an issue with my door not closing shut unless you either slammed it or pushed really hard , I did bring it up and they are going to fix it however I was told they were booked the rest of the week when I said they probably shouldn't put any other guests in that room because it's not really secure if you don't shut it properly leaving your belongings unsecured.

We stayed here and were very pleased with our king bed room. The faux wood flooring meant that there was no odor of anything and so the room really felt and smelled clean! It had little details that made it a very nice stay : the breakfast in Room 120 where you could make your own waffle, the nice mini fridge in the room which was very quiet, the clean bathroom/ shower. However the toilet seat needs replacement as it was sliding to the side when you sat on it. I forgot to let the front desk know. I would definitely stay here again and it's close proximity the the Village Kitchen and Pie Shoppe was the BEST FIND EVER for pie!!! ( fruit, cream, and chicken pot pie!)
