My Blue Canoe.
You can have a blast! What a great adventure!
Our group has rented from Eagle Rock every year and then we go on either the 15 or 30 mile Allegheny River trip. May do a second trip this year.
Find a good island to camp on for the night and finish the next day. Canoeing, fishing, campfire, cooking on the campfire, rocks to jump off into the water, just plain old fun!
You can't have anymore fun! Great canoeing, great friends, great fun!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Kristen S.Chicora, PA15101Jul 6, 2014
I have been kayaking for four years in tionesta we have used a different company in the past. NEVER AGAIN! I will use eagle rock every time we go!! Wonderful staff! Wonderful sights along the river. My blue canoe has my business from now on!
We went on the 10 mile trip this year. The person who dropped us off was very friendly explained the different parts of the river.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brian C.Cleveland, OH8365Jul 3, 2012
I recently went on the 45-mile trip from Kinzua to Tionesta with my brother and his friend. The folks at Eagle Rock were very friendly.
If you are doing an overnight trip, make sure you hang your food to keep the racoons out. They are relentless.
Next time, I might just do the 35-mile trip. The first 10 miles between the dam and Warren are not very scenic (especially going past the refinery).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Molly H.Homestead, PA119188159Jul 29, 2015
If you're canoeing or kayaking in the Tionesta area, this is the place to stop. Very modest place. I've used them for the past few years. Each year they've been great.
This past trip we opted for a 10 miler. For the non-outdoorsy person that may seem like a lot, but the river has been pretty high so it took about 3 hours with very minimal paddling. Last year we did 5 miles (about an hour and a half) and quite frankly it just wasn't long enough. Too nice on the river when the sun is out to be done that quickly. Canoes are in great shape. The package for two with paddles, seat backs and best for 5 is about 42. For 10 miles it's about 47 so why not go the extra 5 miles! Trips go out every 2 hours so you may want to call ahead to reserve on the weekend. Weekdays walk-ins should be fine.
Lots of wildlife on the river. Eagles' nest within view of the shop and the owners have a telescope pointed at the nest and are always eager for their patrons to have a look. We really lucked out and saw a fledgling flying over us on our trip for about 10 minutes.
Easy trip. Owners give you the scopes on the sides of the river to take for the best trip. I haven't done the kayaks, but they seem like a good time, too.
Take some snacks and beverages and enjoy your trip! I will continue to use this place for my canoe and maybe one day kayak adventures. (Don't forget your sunscreen!)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
