We will be in Portland for 5 nights... in October for our anniversary... Decided to stay here.. close to downtown. Is the Hyatt House in a great location?
A:
Yes it is an awesome location super close to downtown yet far enough away from the riff-raff it is actually peaceful. Highly recommend. My little and I walked into downtown when the weather was nice. Otherwise we rode the street car which stops… more

The best stay I've had at a hotel recently!
The Hyatt House has been a pleasant experience from the get go. We drove in from California trying to originally stay at the Crowne plaza, but they were full our first night in, so we stayed at Hyatt. We checked out the following morning and went to stay at the Crowne plaza,
But immediately regretted it and cancelled our reservation and went back to this hotel!
SPACE!!! This room is so spacious! There's a beautiful kitchen island with room to eat and a kitchenette with plates, silverware, pots, pans, anything you need for a kitchen! Across from your kitchenette is a nice and comfortable sofa that turns into a sleeper that is relaxing when you're watching TV. Speaking of the TV, the TV swivels 360, so you can turn it if you're resting in bed!
So much drawer space and closet space w/hangers!
The bathroom is nice and big and my husband, myself + 2 small children all fit in the shower!
Staff! The staff is VERY friendly. Shout out to Jeremiah at the front desk! He was very kind. The first night we drove in we were very exhausted and sort of grouchy from the 15+ hrs drive we did and he was very helpful with all of our questions.
James by the valet gentlemen is quick to offer a helping hand. He opened our door for us, and let us know he was there if we needed anything
Breakfast is included and has decent things to choose from (scrambled eggs, bagels, hash browns, cereals w many milk options, coffee, etc).
10/10 would recommend to anyone coming into town. You get your moneys worth PLUS!! Thank you to all the staff at the Hyatt!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Naomi M.Seattle, WA2503910Mar 9, 2024
Our room had one dining chair and one roller office chair for the "dining" chairs. Tacky and not what is seen on the website. All the cabinets and drawers have dents and scuffs everywhere.
Someone stole my purse upon arrival at this hotel as well, out of my son's wagon we were traveling with. I've had to cancel all cards left with nothing. Don't even live in this state.
There's no parking and the hallways smell like fried chicken, burnt food and weed the whole time we stayed. This place needs work.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 26, 2024
The hotel is located in a great spot, close to everything, valet is too expensive but it is different to find street parking but after driving around for a bit we found a spot not too far away. You do have to download an app to pay for street parking but it's pretty easy to do. We stayed in a suite which was a nice size for the price. The digital key is a joke, the app logged me out multiple times and you can't access the elevator to your room without your key so I was stuck outside the elevator waiting for my app to allow me to log back in. A few times even after I logged in, the key wasn't found in my app. I would suggest just getting an actual key and saving yourself the headache. The breakfast is not at all worth i unless you like cereal. The "hot" food was all cold. We just grabbed bananas and orange juice. Still giving four stars because the place was clean, the price was good, and most of the staff were very helpful. We would maybe give them another try but with so many hotels in the area, we would probably try to find one with a better breakfast

Stayed here for 5 nights in September and are so glad we chose Hyatt House for our stay in Portland. We got a regular king room with a pullout and enjoyed the fridge and microwave in the room as we often had leftovers and it was great being able to reheat them. The hotel has a street car station right in front and easy walks to nearby bus and light rail stations. It's also very easy to call and get dropped off by Uber to the front of the lobby doors.
The H Bar and H Market were amenities we didn't think we would use but we were tired from hiking one night and were surprised by how reasonably priced the food and drinks were here. The bartender at the H Bar was great at making conversation and recommending local places for us to check out. Sadly, I didn't get his name but I hope he knows he was awesome!
I'm taking off a star because when we checked in our rooms the shower of the bathroom didn't seem clean and has a really strong musty smell. It also didn't seem like they don't clean rooms in-between guests thoroughly as there were half-full water bottles under the desk in our room as well. We had to wait until next day to get our room cleaned as by the time we notified the front they let us know the housekeepers were already out for the day.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jane S.Concord, CA12232Apr 16, 2024
Best hotel ever - all the stars!
Check in was quick and easy, thank you Jeremiah! We visited the bar twice and the bartender was friendly and efficient. The first night he was very busy, the second night not as much and we had a nice chat. The room was squeaky clean and spacious. Loved the double blinds on the windows - room darkener or let a little light in. The shower was large, pressure was perfect with immediate hot water. We stopped at the front desk a couple of times for snacks and advice, and always walked away smiling.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1081184Oct 25, 2023
Haven't stayed here. I live right across the street and go here often for candy, their burger at the bar, and/or some drinks after work. I love Jessica the bartender. There is one other bartender I believe who I've met once. He seems nice as well. Clean spot. Open and chill vibes. Right on the S waterfront.

Just got done staying a few nights at this Hyatt House location. I love the location of this hotel because you're close by the waterfront AND within walking steps to a Portland Streetcar stop.
The room was spacious and clean for the most part. I say for the most part because I did notice an ant on our bed during our stay, but since it was just one ant and I didn't see any the rest of the time, I figured there was no point in making a fuss about it. Our room had a kitchen area which was clutch because we were able to take leftover foods and bring it back to the room to eat at a later time so nothing went to waste. Every morning, they provided a continental breakfast. Nothing spectacular to note about that, but it does the job.
Another thing we really enjoyed about this hotel was the indoor pool. Although, the pool is not very big and gets pretty crowded at night, the kids absolutely loved it. They also have a workout area, which seems to have a good amount of equipment, but we didn't utilize it so I can't speak too much on it.
As far as parking, they do offer valet parking. I can't remember the exact price, but it was pricey. You can always find street parking, but those are far and few. There is a parking lot where we parked at down the street for $24 to park overnight, which I thought was pretty affordable. I felt safe leaving the car in that structure.
And lastly, I mentioned earlier about the hotel being a few steps from a stop where you can take the Portland Streetcar. It costs $2 and it takes you to the Pearl District (shopping/dining area), which saved us a lot of headache with having to drive there and then subsequently find parking in the Pearl.
Will definitely considering coming back for our next trip back into Portland!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 8, 2023
This place was clean and staff were friendly. I loved how specious the rooms are. Complimentary breakfast is served every morning. Parking was limited, we had to park about two block down from the hotel in a public parking garage (worth it-about 24 dollars a night). This place is conveniently located near a hand full of restaurants overseeing a land of water (willamett river).

I worked there for over a year and I genuinely used to love going to work, it was one of my favorite jobs. After Covid I left for a few months and then reapplied and started working there again. Some things were different and there was a new woman working in the position I used to work in and we worked together for a while until one day I was a few minutes late and she started doing my job and ignoring hers, as soon as I clocked in I told her I could take over and she refused to, forcing me to do her job. She was already in a bad mood and wouldn't take over her position and started getting violently frustrated with me, rather than talking to me she stormed out yelling "not today" and I figured she just needed a few minutes to cool off but after 20-30 minutes I started having to do my job and her job and no manager informed me until an hour into my shift that she had left and gone home for the day leaving me to work the rest of my shift doing two positions with no help and closing for the day. After that I ended up being barked at by a manager for being upset by the situation and talked to by another manager about the incident without the other employee being there to resolve the issue. I was told tasks haven't been done that hadn't been brought to my attention before the meeting and because I tried confronting the other employee instead of just being quiet and doing her position rather than my own I was fired. And to this day it really bothers me how this situation played out. I work really hard at every job I have and just know you lost a very loyal employee.

Super friendly valet greeted us and helped me find parking then we were greeted by Kai who worked the front desk and he was seriously the best. Very friendly and attentive, gave excellent recommendations for places to find food and even looked thru his personal stash when I asked where I could find a diet Coke.
My only small issue was there were places in the hotel that needed some attention (floor needed sweeping) but the pool was great, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast had a wide variety of options both hot and cold.
I would highly recommend this place!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
