Dr. Cohn ROCKS!
I've never had such personalized care by an optometrist before and I've been wearing glasses/contacts since the 4th grade. (Without aging myself too much, that was a long long time ago).
I have really bad eyesight (very very nearsighted) and have all the problems that come along with it. Although it was my first visit, I could tell that he had taken the time to review my chart (from my previous optometrist) and came into the exam room fully aware of my history. He did a comprehensive exam (including the optomap retinal imaging - a digital image of your eyes) and was extremely thorough in explaining ALL the results. He made sure I understood everything. Plus he explained what my insurance covered and didn't cover and double checked everything to make sure I wouldn't have to pay a fortune out of pocket. I've never had a doctor care about what I would need to spend. It was so refreshing to have a doctor who wasn't out to get you to spend spend spend.
And I wrote down the name of my friend who referred me to him and she got a thank you note and a $5 gift card to Starbucks. How nice is that?!
I am so happy I found such a caring, honest, and thorough optometrist.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jennifer R.Seattle, WA48221119Jul 18, 2014
Dr. Cohn's associate, Dr. Gill introduced me to multifocal contact lenses. I had no idea, after wearing contacts for over three decades, that science had come up with such a wondrous thing. Before my visit I wore contact lens with a strong prescription for day to day reading and computer work, but I needed glasses with an even stronger prescription for distance vision such as movies. (Glasses hurt my nose and I am vain.) Now I get the best of both worlds with contact lenses! Another bonus, this is the first time ever that an office had my -8.5 power prescription in stock.
Huge bonus for the knowledgeable staff and how kind, friendly, and compassionate the office environment is. I heard lots of friendly laughter at the front desk. When people are happy doing what they do at work, it truly shows. We paid out of pocket and the prices were high but reasonable for the quality of service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - David H.Kirkland, WA1209Apr 26, 2013
Yesterday I went to see Dr. Cohn as my vision was giving me trouble since my last exam. I have seen several OD's over 20 years. I have been to your standard one hour lens places, high-end boutiques, specialists, and Dr. Cohn & associates were by far the best. I was pleasantly greeted, paperwork process was super-fast, was promptly led back to the eye-examination room. The exam was led by his wonderful medical assistant who used latest exam technology.
I choose to use the optomap instead of the pupil dilation. It was super-fast scanning laser that took less than 3 seconds for each eye. It gives a more comprehensive look into your retina and you can see the optic-nerves. I was really impressed by the level of professionalism by Dr. Cohn. He took the time to review my medical history, my concerns, and pulled up the optomap and explained the image in detail. He took my current prescription and was able to dial it in to 20-15 vision. I have never seen my vision be so crisp and sharp in my life. It honestly felt like going from a standard def to high definition.
I spoke to Dr. Cohn about trying contacts which I have never really worn but once in my life. He explained every different type of lens available, the cost associated for each type, and what my vision coverage would cover. He gave me a sample set, retested my vision after, and had his optometrist assistance provide a consultation on how to properly insert and remove contact lenses to my eye. I also was able to try on frames which she was very helpful narrowing down the 100s of different style options.
I can honestly say this was by far the best visit to an Optometry Clinic. The state of the art exam equipment, staff, and Doctor were all really thorough and I felt that I received the best possible eye care. I can say if you sit in front of a monitor and start to notice vision issues do not hesitate go see Dr. Cohn and he will get you dialed in to 20--20 vision or in my case 20-15! Don't waste your time with other clinics go see Dr. Cohn!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dallas T.Denver, CO5112Jul 30, 2010
I've been going to Dr. Cohn for three years now, and he is really great! He's thoughtful, honest, and always looking out for your best interests. I always had issues with uncomfortable contacts, and he immediately got me into the best fitting pair of contacts I'd ever worn. After my first year with him, I decided to go through with LASIK surgery. Mark provided pre-op and post-op care as well as awesome follow-up with PCLI. It was a fantastic experience!
The staff at this office is absolutely amazing! Heidi always greets you with a smile on her face and a lot of charm. She's always very clear about the costs associated with the visit and doesn't try to hide anything. Amanda is an expert at choosing glasses for the conservative or the trendy. She'll provide you with a lot of great feedback, adjustment, and whatever else you need! These ladies always make my office visits that much more amazing!
I've referred many people to Dr. Cohn's practice, and he sends me a thank you card with a Starbucks gift card as well. Sweet! Dr. Cohn is THE doctor to see.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dennis D.Des Moines, WA164515218May 29, 2014
Professionals. All of them.
And damn high tech equipment.
Stylish frames.
Good deals.
They even have reps from the various frame manufacturers in office, every so often. (Last time Gucci were there.)
Highly recommend them.
Seriously.
And if you go, mention that I referred you. :-)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christy A.Seattle, WA327105May 22, 2009
Dr. Cohn loves what he does, is highly professional and competent, and just plain fun to be around! The father of the venerable Adam C, he brings the same fun-loving spirit to his patient interactions. He gave me the "rub" (pun intended!) on disposable contact lens care, made me laugh in the process, and educated me about the importance of having an up-to-date eyeglass wardrobe. I'll be back to get some new frames soon...his selection is reasonably priced for the quality of the frames, and I found two really cute options...and I'm notoriously picky in this area. I would recommend Dr. Cohn to anyone, and not just because he makes some mean BBQ ribs!

Was referred to Dr. Cohn by a friend since I'm new to Bellevue last Thursday and though he wasn't in on Friday, his office got me in early Monday morning and Dr. Cohn didn't disappoint. I was having problems with my eyes due to constant contact lens wearing and Doc took care of me. Will be seeing him for a follow-up plus a comprehensive eye exam. My wife will also become a patient of his because he is better than good. His office staff is great as well. Very pleasing on the eyes I might add.

I can't offer a good review for Dr. Cohn. Although he was seeing a family member for glaucoma, this family member ended up losing the sight in that eye. He should have referred the family member to a glaucoma specialists - or at least an opthamologist because this was a case that was beyond his expertise. If you need glasses, fine. If you need something more I'd find another doctor.

I had my first eye exam last week and as thought, I need glasses. On an up note I thought Dr. Cohn was very knowledgeable; his staff was very kind and fun. We even had a sort of "fashion" show with my eyeglass wear. Although I do not have any prior experience with an eye doctor, all I can say is that it was a good experience

I went into Dr. Cohns office on 7/29/2010 and had an amazing experience. Heidi and the rest of the staff were very friendly and very very helpful. They were all very professional and answered all of my questions. I don't know how anyone could have a bad experience there. Even if I did have a bad experience, I would NEVER personally attack the person by posting their first and last name on any website. How would that make you feel if it was you who was being talked about? I thought this was a place to give your reviews of businesses and not a place to personally attack people.
