Dox Furniture

As of Feb 19, still no contact from Dox regarding the refund they've owned me since Dec 18, 2018. My bank is still in the process of getting the charges reversed. Think twice, before giving these con artists your money as the owner will refuse to give it back even though he could never deliver on the item you ordered in the first place. I have filed complaints with the BBB and Consumer Fraud Agency of Dallas. Company has ignored my attempts to get my $999 refunded for 3 months! Be wary of the positive feedback left which can be the result of a business DOX pays to write favorable reviews for them. This place is a nightmare to deal with.

Below is what I just received from the Better Business Bureau for the complaint filed against Dox....

I don't understand.
This isn't much of a "store". There's not much to look at here. And while the guy working was real nice, really all they had were catalogs for you to look through. I can't buy furniture unless I SEE it - can FEEL if it's comfortable or not. Maybe if I knew precisely what I wanted, I'd have them order it for me through their catalogs, but why not just order it online myself?

For a store that claims to be different, the service level indicates this is just another furniture store. Timeline of events:

1. Online chat with Juliette to get the price on a sectional lowered to match the going online rate at national retailers. Item says delivery in 2 days online. Juliette says will take exactly 1 week to get the product from Houston.

2. 3 days later, I email to ask for an update. It goes ignored.

3. A week passes. No word from Dox. Start to realize they don't pick up the phone. Catchy hold music though! Juliette via on line chat indicates that the item wasn't in stock in Houston. Guess what? Without me chatting with them, they would never have realized, so they now have to source it from somewhere else. They decide to order from LA and say it'll take yet another week. She said she will talk to the manager to see what compensation can be credited and that I'll be updated by email that day.

4. Days go by and I hear nothing. Online chats are ignored. Calls ignored. Finally on Friday, they pick up the phone and said the sofa is in Dallas. Yet, no delivery because it's stuck in the back of the container. I am told 'definitely Monday' and 'the manager will be back any minute and give you a call'. No call.

5. Monday hits. Yup, no calls. Online chat ignored. Calls ignored. Email ignored. Nada.

6. Tuesday. Oops, they accidentally didn't screen my call when I used another phone number. What's the story this time? Oh, we have your item but we don't have delivery drivers today. I ask if they can pay another delivery team to bring it out. 'Yes, I'm sure we can! I will call you in 30 minutes with an update'... Yup, no call. Online chat ignored. Calls ignored.

7. Wednesday. Online chat ignored. Calls ignored. More of the same crap. Finally get an email with two delivery windows. Sofa is here, and it's great. The only reason this place got 2 stars.

Bottom-line, if you can negotiate the price online (and the rep actually replies) to a point where you are satisfied and can be okay with the item taking multiple weeks to be delivered despite their claims, you can proceed. Don't expect service, don't expect realistic timelines, and don't expect anyone to care enough to make it right.

I must first clarify, my experience with this company was with their delivery crew, particularly the driver named Justin. He delivered a bunch of furniture to my next door neighbor in uptown.

He walked around the property and was rude to the leasing office crew, left the hallway dirty with cardboard and foam, scratches all over the walls and door frames. He seemed very careless and showed no concern over the safety of the building or the furniture he was delivering.

Chatting with my neighbor the next day I learned that some of the furniture is damaged, floor and walls in the apartment got scratched, trash left all over the place and company owner was rude over email and over the phone. He also mentioned filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau trying to resolve this.

Our management has flagged this company and listed them as excluded and not recommended in their 12 DFW properties. Their driver never returned the building access fob and key to my neighbor's apartment which resulted in the management changing the locks. Beware of this place, just like anything cheap, you get what you pay for! I hope the BBB helps him resolve this because what they did is truly wrong.

This company is a life saver! I had purchased furniture from another company and they never delivered it! I searched everywhere in the DFW area and found Dox! I went to the show room and they helped my order everything and reassured me a great experience. They delivered my furniture on time and everything was of great quality! I used them to decorate my whole apartment!!!

I'm new to the Dallas area, and have been looking online for a master bedroom set. I couldn't find anything I liked, and didn't want to go to a chain such as "Rooms to Go." I decided to look on YELP. The review below me stated to stop running around DFW area and this would be your one stop shop!

I went on a Saturday evening, and spoke with Justin (the owner). He was very pleasant and accommodating. The store was suppose to be closed, and he stayed to help me. He had items in his show room, but I went to his large catalog listing. I found a set that was very sophisticated and elegant. I kept looking, but went back to that bedroom set.

Justin was able to get all the furniture in less than a day and had Miguel come to my home and set it up! Miguel was ON TIME and very professional! I love my new master bedroom furniture. Oh, and let me tell you how awesome these guys were. . I ordered a wardrobe mirror, and it wasn't on the truck during the delivery. Miguel went back to pick up the mirror the same day and came back within an HOUR! I was so impressed! I thought I would have to wait at least a day for it.

I wil use them again! I've already told a few friends about this place, and they saw my furniture and decided they will have to go check out DOX Furniture!

Go check this place out! You will NOT regret it!!

After looking in the usual stores, I stopped by due to the very good reviews.
The guy, Justin, is very friendly and competent even if a little pushy. I like taking my time when buying things so it was overall good experience. I bought a nice sectional for a very good price and I am very happy. Delivery was also ok.

Worst costumer service!!
They don't update about their deliveries or schedule one.
I had to chase them for information about the furnitures I bought from them.
