Any low rating here seems a bit political.
This place does real BBQ. Really delicious BBQ. I loved their meats. We sampled ribs, brisket and pork. All were great. Everyone happily noshing on huge portions at a reasonable price.
The brisket is the best of the bunch. Smoky, tender and even juicy. I could eat this brisket all damn day. No need for sauce but the sauce was nice.
The ribs were meaty St. Louis cut. Big and lean. Nice clean bite, no tug. The meat really got a good kiss of smoke, so again no need for sauce but sauce still available and tasty.
The pulled pork was good. Bark in the mix, which is always a treat. Not mushy a bit but not stringy either. This one is better with sauce imo so you may want to ask for extra.
The mac and cheese is the only clunker here. I am not a huge Mac and cheese person but when I like it, I love it. This was meh. Bland. It comes with a plate but I wish there were other options. Any other option.
I saved the cornbread for last. The best damn cornbread I've ever had. Period. OMG. This was the happiest surprise. Moist, a bit sweet and just melt in your mouth pure damn delightful.
I will seek this truck out. If you see it, you must try it!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 30, 2020
This was pretty good. A pickup truck arrived with a small trailer behind it. They served the precooked food out of the trailer. I have seen pictures of them barbecuing at events, but this was a smaller affair. I got two brisket meals with sides. They cost $15 each. The only sides they offered were corn bread and mac and cheese. I am not even sure if they had drinks for sale, but they did have all of the carryout bags, utensils, and plastic bags plus small cups of BBQ sauce to take home/ work/ etc...
The portions were very nice, big enough to have for lunch then feed a family later for dinner time, plus more leftovers the following day for lunch. That says something! I liked the mac and cheese. Not the best I have ever had, but good enough to want to order more. I wish they had side orders of the mac, we would have purchased more. The corn bread too. If they sold that individually, we would have purchased more for later. The corn bread was tasty. Again, not the best, but everyone at home seemed to like it. It had a nice kick from the jalapenos, not too sweet. The brisket was good. The portion was very nice. Overall I would get this again.
They also offered ribs, pulled pork, pulled chicken, and sausage. You could get more than one meat if you wanted to sample other items. We stuck to brisket since that is my family's favorite out of all of the choices.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Tracey K.Royal Oak, MI03Aug 21, 2023
If you look, the low ratings aren't actually customers, give this place a chance.

One of our neighbors arranged to have this food truck visit our neighborhood on a beautiful summer evening during the pandemic - it is exactly what we needed...something different to do and eat and a great chance to catch up with neighbors!
The menu choices are pretty straightforward - a pile of meat (with various options) and sides of cole slaw and mac & cheese. I'll start with the sides:
The cole slaw is mediocre, at best.
The mac and cheese was outstanding...and I am a big fan/critic of mac & cheese.
As for the meat...
I had the sausage and thought it was quite good. I could have done without the ends - no one needs to be reminded of how sausage is made :-)
My daughter had the chicken and liked it. My wife had the pork, and also enjoyed it.
All of the portions are fairly large, so no one went home hungry.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 3, 2017
Came here after a slow roll, It was parked at batch brewing company.
They have these things called" burnt bits" and I did not know what they were so i asked the guy and he described them as basically brisket because I thought they were going to be more like rib tips and boy was I wrong. They were so delicious! They just ripped apart so easily. YUM!!
Also order a side a mac and cheese that was middle of the line for me, not bad but not the best. And the brisket came with cornbread that was mouthwatering! Yum, yum yum!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 14, 2019
These guys popped into the 777 building in Ann Arbor for Fooda today. I ordered the loaded mac and cheese, and let the guys pick my meat choices.
The mac and cheese had that "homestyle" taste, where it was a little gritty. It was delicious. They gave me pulled pork and some keilbasa, both tasted great. It was an awesome treat having them in our area and I can't wait to be local to check it out again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dave F.Berkley, MI0228Jun 6, 2020
Finally got off the Family Friday pizza kick and give this outfit a try. Got the Chicken/Ribs special and the fam all agree - a big thumbs up. Both of the main attractions exceeded expectations comfortably.
We were especially impressed with the bird. Very well done. The kind of poultry you'd be tempted to put on a table as your own to steal the credit.
The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars are the sides. Mind you they aren't bad. There was a favorable impression of the mac & cheese. Instead of bbq beans there were garlic green beans. These were less successful, though again not bad. Are they really a good side in this combo? The cornbread was just kinda there. This could be punched up a bit.
Overall we'll definitely be back. Our 17-yo human vacuum wants to return next week and we'll probably do just that. And gotta say that even post-COVID this setup is a big value to us. Curbside carryout is just perfect.
Pro-tip: you're first time here you'll get lost if you just punch the address into Maps on your phone. Use "Kitty's Cheesecake" as the destination and you'll drive right to the door.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jun 3, 2020
Best BBQ around. When Royal Oak has their festival I run straight for this booth. When Covid happened and companies were forced to rely on delivery and curbside pickup this was a company that continued to provide the highest quality at reasonable pricing. They made affordable family meal deals and truly earned a lot of respect during difficult times. It is a bit of a drive for me to pick up from their location but worth it. My favorite is the pulled pork but their cornbread is also phenomenal. It's all good. Place an order and see for yourself.
