Worst experience of a life time. Do yourself a favor and find a professional moving to aid in your move.

In response to the comment from the company dc movers. I spoke with the owner directly and it would not surprise me that the bad business practices would include not acknowledging I was a customers or taking responsibility.

Horrible experience. We scheduled a moving appt with DC Movers for a Saturday at 9am and they didn't arrive until 5:30pm... Once they arrived, the movers- Fred & DJ were excellent and very careful with our furniture. We tipped the movers appropriately but tried to negotiate a discount with the moving company since they were 8.5 hours late... Long story short, they only offered us a 10% discount and charged our credit card without permission (we tried to pay in cash to avoid the 3% fee). Also, during the negotiation talks on Monday afternoon, Jessica at the main office accused us of "yelling at her" and "acting a fool" and then hung up on us. Incredibly, horrendous customer service. DO NOT recommend using this company.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE!!! PLEASE SEARCH THE REVIEWS OF THIS COMPANY AND IF YOU CHOOSE TO HIRE THEM, DO SO WITH GREAT CAUTION! FOR ALL THOSE WHO HAVE COMPLAINED, YOUR REVIEW CAN IMPACT THE NEXT PERSON, BUT CAN BE EVEN MORE IMPACTIFUL WITH FILING A CONSUMER COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB (https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint). My complaint is being escalated beyond common platforms but I have to share. This company has forged my signature! It wasn't until my bank intervene with my dispute for the supposed overage in my move that I FINALLY received a copy of their "invoice" the "check in/check out" sheet." I was told by Jessica, IF I WANTED A RECEIPT, IT WAS UP TO ME TO REQUEST ONE! Which I repeatedly asked the driver Fred for while at my home. He kept telling me he had to go....... The bank requested documents from DC Movers and the supposed "receipt" displayed a signature that was not clearly mine. The document itself appeared altered; containing different handwritings and inks used!!! I too requested the Economy Package for $299 for a 1 bedroom apartment. We had everything readily available to grab and load. The flyer that interested my peak to solicit their services showed 3 men and a 24' truck. Not only did they send me 2 men but the movers arrived in a SMALL BUDGET RENTAL TRUCK! The movers arrived on-time, let's just say between the pants hanging and smell of alcohol, these are not certified movers! The movers were very SLOW, and REFUSED to move all of my belongings because (1) the truck was too small; (2) Drivers kept taking excessive brakes; and (3) The movers shared they were told to only move "the heavy stuff" and not boxes or totes!!!! I used a stop watch for these guys and I tell you, they love wrapping your items. We had to tell them repeatedly to STOP WRAPPING SO MUCH AND GET MOVING!!! So, Jessica when you prepare your crafty reply to MY REVIEW, and you have for all that I've read, please remember you have already shared your "sorry" for my inconvenience, and don't forget to share how you want to point out that "your movers are professional and hard workers, who pride on handling your items with care and the fact that nothing was broken, you conclude the services we hired were completed!" Yes, Jessica has some great rebuttals and when not being rude, will lead you on to believe they are a professional company! I am still awaiting for an itemized bill or explanation of charges, instead when my bank intervene, prior to escalating my complaint. Once the bank got involved, DC Movers found they overcharged me $15.48 but never explained how or why they were refunding me. WATCH YOUR TIME, CHARGES AND THOSE WHO MOVE YOU, if not, you too will be on here posting a complaint! IN ORDER TO STOP COMPANIES LIKE THESE FROM SCAMMING YOU WITH FALSE INFORMATION, WE HAVE TO PLACE THESE COMPLAINTS WHERE THEY MATTER THE MOST - BETTER BUSNIESS BUREAU - https://www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint AND the ATTORYNEY GENERAL OFFICE - https://ncdoj.gov/file-a-complaint/

Do not use this moving company. This is the first time I've ever left a review for a business but the experience was so awful I felt I had to share and warn other prospective customers. DC Movers broke the air conditioning in my apartment (along with several other personal items) leaving me without AC in 95 degree weather and the company did little to nothing to compensate me after the fact. Communication was poor from the start. I was under the impression the pick-up and drop-off portions of my move would be done in the same day. 2 days before my move was suppose to happen I was told they would pick up my things on a Friday then drop items off the following day (despite receiving emails saying otherwise). The movers arrived 45 mins late on pick-up day. Additionally, the signed contract stated I would be provided with 3 movers and a truck for the fee I paid. Only 2 movers were present for both pick-up and drop-off. Movers dropped several of my boxes scattering my personal items across the hallway of my apartment building and causing several items to break. When moving a couch, the movers ripped the thermostat in my new apartment completely off the wall. I was told I could fill out forms to be compensated for the damage. I sent numerous emails over the course of the next week trying to follow up on the damage claims and did not get a response. When I finally got ahold of someone on the phone, they were rude and patronizing and told me that nothing could be done to compensate me for ripping the thermostat off the wall. Ultimately, they wound up paying me $150 for the personal items they broke and said that it was "more than what they normally paid" to help compensate for the AC too.

DO NOT USE THIS MOVING COMPANY.

It is the most unprofessional and lying moving company I have ever dealt with in my entire life. I used them in January 2015 to just move some furniture, bookshelves and a washer and dryer (I had moved all the fragile stuff by myself beforehand) from Cary to Apex. Simple job, isn't it?

      Well, where do I start?

      - They arrived 1 hour later without notice.

      - The crew leader spent most of the time on the phone with his wife/girlfriend arguing very loudly about a thing or another.

      - Another very young and inexperienced crew member also spent most of the time laughing and talking on the phone while moving my stuff.

      - That same inapt crew member thought he could move everything by himself with a two wheel dolly. He dropped my indoor bike, almost dropped a large bookshelf, and to top it off, he dropped my fire safe against a wall, damaging an electrical outlet in the process.

      - The washer and dryer had to be moved to the second floor. It was like they had never done it before! On several occasions, I thought they would drop them down the stairs. They eventually manage to get it to the 2nd floor, but not without damaging the walls in the staircase at numerous places.

      - I had two large bookshelves which needed to be placed in an hardwood floor area. I clearly told them they had to carry the bookshelves all the way against the wall and in under no circumstances would they would push the bookshelves, unless they put something underneath. As I was standing right next to them, they dropped the bookshelf about 4 feet from the wall and then pushed the bookshelf against the wall! They scratched my brand new hardwood floor over a length of 3 feet. At that point, I was really furious, considering I had just told them not to do it.

By the end of the move, I told the crew leader (he had finally stopped talking to his wife/girlfriend on the phone) about the damage to the hardwood floor. He promised me that the owner would give me a call back about it. The owner indeed called me the same day to assure me that everything would be taken care of, and that I should expect a call from their 'handyman' to evaluate and fix the damage.

I have now waited 3 weeks for a call back which never happened. Worst experience ever, and a lying owner to top if off. He said he would do anything to avoid his company having a bad reputation. Well, I guess that didn't work so well in the end.

Never hire D.C. movers. They are very unsavory characters. You CANNOT trust them with your move. My move was scheduled to happen between the hours of 2 and 4pm. At 4pm the texted me (apparently customers aren't worth phone calls) saying they would be there after 4pm. At 7pm I received a call after having to call them 3 times. Also after canceling their move THE OWNER would no longer take my call. This is the worst customer service experience I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. Do not hire them. They are very unprofessional.

NIGHTMARE of a company!!! My daughter's bed was broken by the movers and they failed to report it to me. Management deemed it not their responsibility based on the type of wood. Chips on my NEW dining room chairs, tables and towel rack. I requested that they move my entire apartment but they left so many of my things in the old apartment.

Management was seemingly unapologetic for my losses and indicated my need to be grateful that they were willing to file a claim on my behalf. They offer you a $299 move but I ended up paying $704. They debited over $1100 from account and refused to rectify situation only corresponding with me via text!!! Management expressing that his patience had been worn thin by this "situation."

The worse move I have ever experienced. Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Filing legal action for the return of my funds!!!!

      First to Review

This was my first time using movers and it was well worth it. So I called about one week from my big move, spoke to someone who quoted me a decent price. Based on my information, the consultant sent out 3 men, and a large truck. They arrived on time, very friendly, and professional. The men worked very fast, wrapping and padding all my items, careful not to scratch anything. Everything was already packed in boxes. I guess I have more stuff than I thought because the whole move took nearly five hours. They only quoted me 3 hours but the 2 additional hours were not unreasonable considering they were running a special. The bulk of the time was spent wrapping and padding my furniture and it only took about an hour unloading the truck. I was really worried about the movers scratching my floors and walls but they were very careful. I really can't complain about anything.

Everything was as stated in my quote. No fine print BS..I even love how the owner came by to check on the workers and to make sure everything was running smoothly. I don't plan on moving anytime soon but I would definitely use DC movers again.

Choosing this company to move my 3 bedroom apartment was a terrible experience. I am extremely dissatisfied with what happened. First of all,the packing that I needed was set up to be done from 2-4 the Friday before. Someone called and let me know that it had to be cancelled and would be done on the day of the move. The movers had an arrival time between 9-11 am, they arrived at 11 am aware there was packing to complete. In addition, the packing was a slow process because two of the movers were called to another job during my scheduled time and this left only one person for packing. I was told their would be 3 movers, I was not aware prior that one of the men stays on the truck to organize and delegate the work. So, there are only two physical movers. I have several issues. One of the men smoked on the back of the truck constantly and this caused my things to smell like smoke. While the movers were packing they received a call to go to another move. I am paying for them to move me and I should have had 3 movers the entire time not a portion of the time. The packing took a long time because two movers left for awhile. The truck was not started to being loaded until 5:08pm. I had no intention or idea that this move would be past midnight. The movers did not use the mattress covers, I was told I didn't need them and that they were an extra 30 dollars if we did. I showed an email that stated the mattress covers were included with the economy package I chose. I was told I didn't need them and they did not use them. The movers were not done bringing the items in my new apartment until 5:40 am. They did not put the mirrors back on the dressers. My son and I both witnessed the movers arguing and unprofessional behavior between the movers being angry with one another. I was told if they were at my home any longer I would be charged more so the dressers' mirrors were not put back together. There is no reason the move had to take that long. The crew chief tallied up what I had to pay, but it is not my fault that they took over 12 hours to move my belongings. The movers demanded payment before the move was done. I paid because I was concerned my furniture may not be brought up the stairs to my apartment if I didn't comply. It is unacceptable this move took over 12 hours. Five in the morning is totally unacceptable. The behavior of the movers was witnessed by several people. One of the movers, Joseph, worked extremely hard, but he cannot move everything alone. There is no excuse for the poor service I received.

DO NOT use this company. The owner Delvyne is a complete liar. Not only did he admit that they still have my Keurig in their office, they lost or stole 16 pots and pans. Took a 39 minute break on my dime, and smelled like they were drunk and stopped to drink more because they smelled more when they arrived at the destination of my new place. It's a mystery why the owner would admit to having denied then admit finding my Keurig but 9 months later promise after promise never returned and of course denies the theft of pots and pans. For which I have lids. This is the worst service I've ever used By far. I haven't even mentioned the damage that they did to my new apartment building for which I had to pay to repair. The owner is a liar and an admitted thief. I have emails stating that he recovered my property but refused to return or reimburse me for it. I want compensation for what was mine that they took from me. If you value your property. Do not ever ever consider this company for any type of move .. even if it's from room to room, let alone 3 miles down the street as was my move. Disgusting humans.
