24177Feb 21, 2024Every USA town I've been to has a non-chain family restaurant the locals return to and recommend visitors to. Dayton's is one of those places.
The ambiance was as expected, busy, but not too noisy to talk normally with friends. The dining area was clean as was the well-stocked restroom.
Our server was professional, and in our case very pleasant. Our order was delivered complete and IMO quickly.
Three chicken thighs, French fried potatoes, and candied yams - a winner!
Fried clam strips and onion rings - Meh.
Turkey Club - Huge and excellent.
Coconut Pie and Lemon Pie - a nice ending
This casual place is a safe bet for lunch for friends and family.
Three lunches and three desserts with drinks totaled a bit over $50. This IMO was an excellent value.

Observing the employees ( waitresses ) they maintain an enormous amount of patience--because they work with a smile! Retrieving orders and delivery to those tables. ' I commend you!' Dec 24, 2020Previous review12/23/20, Went to get some of those delicious greens, another carry out customer observed the young lady put my order of greens in a bag, he stated, are those greens, she said yes. He said, you all have good green here, I would get some but I'm going somewhere. I grabbed my order and stated, ' after all we been through this year ' get some greens and he did! Dayton's Greens are the best!!
Jan 7, 2020Previous reviewEach and every time I go here, it's always crowded, the clientele pretty much all have gray hair very diverse setting, many have canes or elderly walker, very friendly and happy atmosphere. The efficiency is great, customer courtesy is awesome and the $$$ are very reasonable! EVERYBODY IS EATING GOOD! I would recommend this place to anyone! Vegetable Soup Tuesday is Awesome!

This place has the best home style cooking around!
Anytime I'm in town I make sure to stop by and get their specials, especially soft shell crabs and the fried chicken, the batter and seasoning they use is perfect. It's always crispy and needs nothing else.
I recently discover the coconut meringue and wow!! I almost don't want to tell you about it so next time I go there will be a slice for me! Yes, it's that good and I'm not a coconut person!
Overall everything here has been amazing!
The service is great, they greet you and make you feel welcomed! There are always busy so make sure you get in early or give yourself a little time, but it's such an amazing welcoming place.

We sat down at a table that had a dirty plate on it, of course they were busy. The cashier told us we shouldn't have sat down and we should know better than to sit down at a dirty table. We've gone to Dayton's since they were in Ocean City, but we aren't going to be going to Dayton's anymore. Such a rude rude remark and totally unnecessary. They've lost loyal customers.

From the person who greets us to the wait staff - everyone is amazing. And the food is amazing. I highly recommend everyone to pay a visit here!

Country feels, like your home. Noticed the awards for their business on the walls which was very impressive. I was excited to try this place out. I ordered the egg salad, asked if I could make it a sandwich. The waitress was very accommodating and patient as we were ordering. My husband had the chicken dinner. Prices are more than reasonable, portions are generous. I asked for hot sauce, didn't use much of it because the natural seasoning & flavor were so good. That doesn't happen too often for me. Very pleased with the food, service, prices. I can't wait until the next time I can return as this has become my favorite restaurant in Salisbury.

I still stood there employees looking at me and after 5 minutes wait staff I could sit anywhere
3 minutes later wait staff came by with an attitude and started my order
Mean while the two wait staff and cashier are still talking about it.
Chicken and rice soup rice is mushy and fries. Are limp and half done
